About the Morel Ultimo Titanium 122

Championship bass
Winner of the 2014-15 EISA best subwoofer of the year award, the Ultimo Titanium subwoofer exemplifies Morel's dedication to engineering and innovation in pursuit of musical excellence. The Ultimo Titanium 122 12" sub features a huge 5.1" external voice coil wound from thick Hexatech™ aluminum wire on a titanium former, all designed to improve the dynamics of this driver for more accurate response. The highly efficient double ferrite magnet motor maximizes efficiency, while a unique spider/surround design ensures flat response even at the highest output levels.
This sub's composite cone gives you the musicality of paper with the durability of carbon fibre.
Rigid reliability
This sub's composite cone gives you the best of both worlds – the musicality of paper with the durability of carbon fibre. Housed in a heavy-duty stamped steel basket, this cone achieves the rigidity you need for strong bass output while retaining a warm, natural sound. Handling up to 1000 watts RMS, this Ultimo Titanium delivers high-fidelity bass that stays true even when you push your system hard.
The European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA) panel summed it up best: “Well-suited for compact boxes, this is one of the best subwoofers available, offering a combination of power and sound quality rarely seen in a single product.”

Features
Sealed Box: Morel recommends sealed enclosure sizes from 20 liters (0.71 ft³) to 50 liters (1.77 ft³). Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable for all types of music.
Ported Box: Morel recommends ported enclosure sizes from 20 liters (0.71 ft³) to 80 liters (2.82 ft³), with an optimum volume of 45 liters (1.59 ft³). Two ported enclosure volume options are listed in the manual; 45 liters (1.59 ft³) with one 10cm (4") diameter x 45.32cm (17.84") long port and 65 liters (2.30 ft³) with one 10cm (4") diameter x 39.47cm (15.54") long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.
