It also allows you to retain your Subaru's auxiliary input, backup camera, and StarLink functionality. Connect this interface to the wires on your new stereo's wiring harness, and you've covered the power, ground, and factory speaker connections for your new stereo.
Note: The SWRSU-38C interface allows you to keep your steering wheel controls with radios from Alpine, Blaupunkt, Boss, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Sony.

Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX SWRSU-38C is a radio replacement interface for select Subaru vehicles. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio to enable retention of certain factory features such as Starlink when replacing the factory-installed radio and is also pre-programmed for retention of steering wheel controls.
Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX SWRSU-38C radio replacement interface works with the following 2015-up Subaru vehicles equipped with non-amplified factory audio systems.

Note: The CRUX SWRSU-38C is not compatible in vehicles with factory amplifiers.
StarLink Retention: The CRUX SWRSU-38C retains Subaru's factory installed StarLink safety & security system.
Retained Aux Input: The SWRSU-38C will retain your Subaru vehicle's factory Aux input using your new aftermarket stereo's rear-panel Aux input. The included wiring harness is equipped with a set of male stereo RCA jacks that plug into your aftemarket radio's rear-panel Aux input jacks. If your aftermarket head unit features a 3.5mm Aux input, you'll need a stereo minijack-to-RCA adapter (sold separately).
Backup Camera with Reverse Wire: The SWRSU-38C will retain your Subaru vehicle's factory installed backup camera through the use of your new aftemarket stereo's composite video camera input. The included wiring harness features a male composite video RCA connector that plugs into your aftemarket radio's composite video camera input. You aftermarket radio must be equipped with a composite video camera input and built-in video screen. The included harness also has a reverse wire (purple/white) that connects to the reverse wire of your aftemarket radio's harness for automatic rearview switching when your vehicle is put into reverse gear.
Steering Wheel Controls: The CRUX SWRSU-38C features a steering wheel control output for Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is outfitted with). The SWRSU-38C interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its 8 dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).
