Hertz DSK 170.3
Crutchfield customer from Chandler, AZ on 12/2/2020
2017 Honda Accord Sport
I installed these speakers on a 2017 Accord Sport with factory stereo. The install was pretty simple--remove the old speakers and pop in the new speakers. The factory speakers were kind of muddy -- decent on the mid range, but weak on the highs and lows. Adding these was a dramatic improvement over the stock--the sound is clearer and louder than before. Mids are good, highs are very loud and clear--maybe even a bit too much. I had to turn down the treble on the head unit to match my liking. Decent low end, but these aren't going to give you the bass of a subwoofer. Overall, a solid choice to give a better, brighter sound to a factory system for a reasonable cost.
Pros: easy to install, good sound
Cons: high end is really bright

A little bright but the mids are great. Easy install, very thin wire within the crossover and tweeter. 50w per channel and they are very responsive at all ranges with no distortion.

Full and bright

I replaced Alpine Type-S coaxial 6.5's with this component set. The Type-S was already pretty bright but the DSK 170's are a little sweeter up top. I used similar settings but tuned it down a little using pink noise. I'm currently running these off of a Pioneer mini amp that is 45x4. It's about half RMS. I'll upgrade my amp eventually. Mid bass is a step up over the Alpines. Mid range is also clearer and more pronounced. The top end is what I love the most. I like it bright but not too harsh. Again, adjusting the EQ helped a lot. I played some favorite tunes, like Devil Inside by INXS which has a wide range of sounds, and Whole Lotta Love which has great vocals and crunchy guitars, a few Bruno Mars songs just because... and Hawaii '78 by Israel Kamakawiw'ole which has nice synths, beautiful ukulele plucking, deep bass drums, and his rich sweet bass voice and falsetto. I'm very happy with these DSK's! I'm considering Hertz coaxial 6x9s. I just wish I got these sooner!
Pros: Full mid range, bright tweeters
Cons: Without equalization tweeters can sound harsh at high volume

Bought hertz because of the popularity in the HD bagger shows. These sound good and we're a good price but still on the higher side. No one had them cheaper. Only 4 stars because I wish the bass was a little more deeper.
Pros: Great customer service and instrhctions
Cons: Little pricy and I wish the bass was more coming out of these.

Hertz Component speaker review
Noel from Hackensack NJ on 11/14/2018
2018 Honda Odyssey
Bought this speaker along with some coaxial for the rear's from Hertz as well. The speaker's are very Bright and seems clear but once you increase volume it becomes quite harsh so i ended up lowering the Treble/Bass/Mid's across the board on my HU unit. I also ended up purchasing audio control unit to help with sound but i had no choice to return. Note: I upgraded to Morel tempo ultra and world difference and sound is balanced and not bright and i also noticed that any Hiss from gain adjustment is less audible by a huge degree.
Pros: Very clear for detail sound
Cons: quite harsh and bright sound as volume goes up. speaker will emit noise where others wont
