Premium Alpine components
If you've been an Alpine devotee from car to car, their X-Series speakers are your opportunity to take the leap to premium sound. Designed with a laser-focus on superior imaging, this X-S65C 6-1/2" component speaker system will bring out the very best in your audio system. And an all-new magnet design in a cast aluminum frame allows these speakers to have a low profile, so they can fit in a wide array of vehicles.
All about the build
Alpine uses a powerful magnet and a super-efficient motor structure to make the 6-1/2" woofer really strong in the lower frequencies. The woofer cone itself uses a specialized fiber for extreme rigidity while Alpine's proprietary High Amplitude Multi-Roll surround ensures durability in the face of extreme temperatures.
Serious power handling
The separate 1" carbon graphite dome tweeter handles the high frequencies with satisfying accuracy, and its extended frequency response lends a sense of realism and atmosphere unmatched by lesser tweeters. Driven by an aftermarket amplifier, you'll really have a soaring system, thanks to power handling up to a whopping 120 watts RMS.

Alpine X-S65C reviews
This speaker was paired with Alpine i209 and an Alpine X-A70F amp. 1 week in the vehicle and the sound is distorted all the time. Pretty disappointed that something so new and so expensive wouldn't last a week. I don't see how a 120w speaker can't handle the power from the matching amp.
Cons: Expensive Not Durable

Had these in my car for a little over a month, paired with a pdx-v9, birthed at 132rms x 4 at 4 ohms and gained with a dd-1. Doors are sound deadened and have fast rings. I'll just start with the one negative about these , and that's the tweeter mounting options. These can only be surfaced mounted, so no flush mounting in a -pillars, sail panels, dashes. Luckily for me I had them mounted to the sail panels and when the doors closed it blends in nicely but sticks out like a sore thumb when the doors open. But all is forgiven because the sound quality on these are fantastic! These can play every genre of music incredible, and even when I'm really putting the strain on my equipment these stay strong, warm and clear as the volume goes up. The mid bass is great, but you have to spend the time to prepare your doors for these speakers. If your just gonna drop these in without any deadner, you're not gonna get as great of results. Anothe Great thing about these is that you don't need a big bulky crossover to wire up, the mid naturally rolls off, so it just needs a high pass filter for the bottom end and the tweeter has a inline crossover with 3 dB attenuations, -3, 0, and +3. If your debating between these or the alpine r type components ...save up and buy these.
Pros: Warm sound that will rival any $500-$750 speaker.
Cons: Tweeter mounting

Fantastic, best component speaker set I have ever owned, put my image dynamic xs65 to rest for this pair and have no regrets
Pros: Loud, crisp, clear couldn't ask for a better set of components , tweeters are very clean an clear sounding , I have them set on 0 on crossover and they do not sound harsh at high volumes at all being fed by an alpine pdx f6 amp
Cons: not much hardware included for tweeter install, or options to mount them

Amazingly clear and extremely loud components. The Alpine X-S65C definitely fulfills Alpine's goal of creating a component speaker that not only gets loud but also provides an audiophile listening experience. Why only four stars? Well, although the speakers sound divine, I would expect a component set in this price range to have come with more accessories. The carbon graphite tweeter is rather large and can only be flush mounted. Components costing much less usually come with hardware for other mounting options. Also, the speaker terminals are larger than my previous Alpine SPR-60c's. Crutchfield provided a set of speaker harnesses for my vehicle which was nice of them, but they didn't fit. Alpine should have included the connectors. The baskets are larger than on the type R's, and although Crutchfield lists these speakers as a fit for my 2008 Honda Ridgeline they do not fit without cutting sheet metal or installing 1" speaker rings. I chose the latter, but I cut down the factory speaker baffles inside the door panels and installed a set of Fast Rings to couple the speaker to the factory grills. An Alpine pdx f4 is sending a certified 114 watts RMS per channel to these speakers up front and a set of JL Audio C5 Evolutions in the rear. Under the rear seat is a JL Audio CP208LGW3v3 powered sub. Head unit is a Kenwood DDX392. I plan to replace the Kenwood with the Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX. Entire cab is sound deadened. Volume at 16 is rock concert quality or better!
Pros: Accurate sound reproduction, distortion free at high volumes, plenty of mid bass, beautiful midrange and highs
Cons: Lacking hardware for tweeter mounting options, tweeter flush mount only and rather large, price is rather high, doesn't fit 2008 Honda Ridgeline without modifications

Cast Aluminum Frame: The woofers feature a cast aluminum frame. The frame is lightweight, yet rigid, to resist flexing during long cone excursions to deliver powerful bass.
Woofer Size: Some manufacturers, including Alpine, call this size woofer a 6-1/2". Because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size woofer as a 6-3/4". Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.
Neodymium Woofer Magnets: Because neodymium produces a much stronger magnetic field than ferrite (of the same size), the magnet size and mounting depth are reduced.
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters come installed in a surface-mount housing. No flush mount option is included. The installed tweeter dimensions are:
|Mounting Depth||N/A (screw depth)|
Crossovers: The tweeters' high-pass crossovers are in-line between the woofers and tweeters. Two-sided tape is included to mount the high pass crossovers and their dimensions are:
- Width: 1.81"
- Height: 1.21"
- Depth: 2.76" (3.25" including wire)
Tweeter Attenuation: Each crossover has three tweeter level options, allowing you to precisely tune the high frequencies to the car interior and tweeter placement. Using the supplied jumpers select -3 dB, 0dB (flat), or +6dB. Other jumpers allow reversing the tweeter phase.
