About the PAC OS2-GM32X Wiring Interface

PAC OS2-GM32X

This PAC OS2-GM32X interface allows you to connect your new radio to the existing wiring in your vehicle and keep your factory features working. You'll keep the features you've become accustomed to such as safety warning chimes, the Bose amplified audio system, Retained Accessory Power (RAP), and the OnStar® system. If you have a standard Bose system, you'll be able to fade from the front to rear speakers with your new car stereo; if you have the Premium Bose system, you'll lose that ability.

The steering wheel controls for OnStar will still work, but you'll need a steering wheel control adapter (sold separately) to connect your new stereo to the Cadillac's steering wheel controls. This interface features a connector that plugs directly into PAC steering wheel control adapters, saving you some time and effort. You'll also lose the factory XM receiver.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this interface is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Mostly happy

When replacing an original stereo unit in an 04 Deville, the wiring directions are not very clear. After a phone call to Crutchfield it was explained to use only the front speaker leads from the Sony Stereo unit and cap the rear leads off. Everything works great except you can not fade from front to rear unless you add another set of speakers for the back and connect the rear leads to those speakers.

Pros: all is pro except for the 1 con

Cons: Can not use fader.

Fit exactly 2002 Deville DTS

Fit exactly 2002 Deville DTS. I was surprised by the two speaker wiring, but a quick tech call cleared that up. Bose system is only using two channels out to the amp. Only difficulty was my fault with not understanding the mute loop. I just removed my mute wire from the radio to harness and then everything worked great.

Pros: Plug and play. Help line is very helpful.

Cons: The chime is just pathetic. It is annoying. But that is it's purpose.

The interface works great and is a good product. The installation instructions are very limited and vague. A wiring diagram would have been helpful to determine which wires were not needed.

Will work fine unless your factory amp is bad. Then you will have to run wires to your factory amp and bypass it.

PAC OS2-GM32X Wiring Interface

It works however, the wiring diagram sent with the module isn't intuitive enough to label the color code and functionality of each wire. Also, the chime function is cheap sounding and not genuine. Otherwise this product would be rated better had it not been for those minor issues.

Best Customer Support

Andrea from MI on 2/9/2018

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I had installed a Kenwood BT HD receiver into my husband's 05 Cadillac. After installing and modifying the dash, the receiver would not work. I called Crutchfield and spoke to Dolly, who explained to me that certain vehicles require an interface to communicate with the vehicles command system. I received the interface in 2 days, soldiered it in, and to my surprise, perfection! I have purchased all of our car audio components from Crutchfield and always will. They provide excellent instructions and have the best tech support. Thank you again Crutchfield Team!

Pros: Easy install Clear instructions

Cons: None

Features

Radio Replacement Interface: The PAC OS2-GM32X radio replacement interface allows your to replace the factory stereo in select Cadillac vehicles with an aftermarket head unit and maintain operation of factory features such as OnStar, Bose amplifier, RAP, and warning chimes. It also supports PAC steering wheel control adapters (sold separately).

Vehicle Compatibility: The PAC OS2-GM32X is compatible with select 2000-2005 Cadillac vehicles with GM Class II data-bus system and 32-pin connector (with or without OnStar, and with Bose)

Make  Model Year
Cadillac Deville 2000-2005
Eldorado 2000-2002
Seville 2000-2003

Retained Features: The PAC OS2-GM32X radio replacement interface retains the following factory features of your vehicle.

  • OnStar: The OS2-GM32X retains your vehicle's factory OnStar system. It allows audio from the OnStar system to play through the vehicle's two front speakers when OnStar is active, and mutes the output of your new aftermarket radio.
  • Bose Amplifier: The PAC radio replacement interface lets you retain your vehicle's factory Bose amplifier. Standard Bose amplifiers will continue to fade front to rear. Due to the design of Premium Bose amplifier systems, there is currently no way of fading from front to rear with an aftermarket radio.
  • RAP: Your aftermarket head unit will continue to operate with the vehicle's RAP (Retained Accessory Power) system. The aftermarket radio will stay on after the vehicle's key is turned off and then stays on for approximately 10 minutes or until a door is opened.
  • Safety & Warning Chimes: The vehicle's factory safety and warning chimes are also fully retained.
Note: The OS2-GM32X does not retain the factory XM Satellite Radio receiver; you will lose this option when the factory radio is replaced with an aftermarket stereo.

+12V/10A Accessory Output: The OS2-GM32X provides a +12V/10A switched accessory output; no more searching for switched +12-volts in the fuse box or kick panel.

Navigation Outputs: The PAC OS2-GM32X provides navigation outputs (VSS, Parking Brake, and Reverse) to help ease the installation process of an aftermarket navigation radio.

Optional Steering Wheel Control Adapter: The OS2-GM32X radio replacement interface supports PAC's SWI-CP2 or SWI-RC steering wheel control adapter (both sold separately), allowing you to retain your vehicle's factory steering wheel controls. The included wiring harness plugs directly into the compatible SWC adapter. You will need to program the SWC adapter.

Wiring Connection Chart: The included harness features the following wires which will need to be hardwired (solder or crimped) to your aftermarket head unit's wiring harness.

I also received the PAC OS2-GM32X. The green and purple wires Larry mentioned do not exist on this interface. Its documentation states that fader will not work. Does this mean that the rear speakers on your vehicle won't work, since there is no way to connect them from your radio through this interface?
[ Gus I  Nov 03, 2017 ]
A
The PAC OS2-GM32X Interface includes the following wires for rear speaker connections: Green=Left Rear Speaker + Green/Black=Left Rear Speaker - Purple=Right Rear Speaker + Purple/Black=Right Rear Speaker - These will need to be connected to the corresponding rear speaker wires from your aftermarket head unit's harness. For more details or to discuss further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks!

This integration harness is designed to retain the stock Bose amplifier in compatible vehicles: Cadillac Deville 2000-2005 Eldorado 2000-2002 Seville 2000-2003

Q
I ordered the previous model that came with the awsc1 steering wheel control wiring. Will I need a different wiring set?
[ Robert  Oct 15, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
The PAC OS2-GM32X does not have the ability to retain factory steering wheel controls so you will need a separate adapter (like the Axxess ASWC-1 or PAC SWI-CP2) and a compatible aftermarket stereo for this capability.
