Rockford Fosgate's Punch P1000X1bd subwoofer amp can produce up to 1000 watts RMS, giving you plenty of clean power for your rhythm track. Once again, Rockford Fosgate steps away from the crowd with their C.L.E.A.N. technology (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise) — a setup system that ensures your music will sound as clean and powerful as possible. It works like this: play the setup tone on the included test CD, adjust the receiver volume until a red clip light on the amp goes out, then turn the amp gain up until a blue light comes on. It's that simple — your amplifier is now set to match your receiver's output. When your receiver reaches maximum clean volume, you'll get maximum clean power from your Punch amp. At quiet listening levels, you'll hear less background noise and more of your music.
Keeps an eye on things while playing
If that blue light turns solid red while you're playing music, the amp's telling you that your source is distorting and you should turn it down, or risk damage to your gear. The optional PLC2 remote level control also doubles as a clip indicator, so you can see from the front seat if your music's clipping. The amp's built-in computer keeps tabs on the output current, ensuring that plunging speaker impedances (they change during play) or even a short circuit won't hurt anything.
Maintaining coolness raises efficiency and lowers distortion
Rockford Fosgate's Dynamic Thermal Management system uses forced air to dissipate heat evenly across the amp and out through the high-mass heatsink, efficiently drawing heat away from vital internal parts. Their proprietary MEHSA cooling process maximizes the heat transfer from the MOSFET devices to the heatsink, allowing the heat to escape more readily, so the transistors stay cooler and work better.

What an awesome amp! I would recommend this if you are looking to buy a 1000 watt amp. The C.L.E.A.N. technology is really helpful at setting your gains in just the right spot. My birth sheet says my amp is 1,467 Watts. I have it pushing 2 P3 12 inch subs. It has no problem pushing them to their max. Very clean, deep and rich bass from this amp. Great buy at an affordable price.

I've had this amp for almost 1 year pushing 2 P3 12" DVC in a 1 ohm set up in a sealed box. It definitely keeps up with the subs and has no problem running off of the standard hook up to my car electrical system.
Pros: Great power and capability of pushing power as needed for long periods of time.

Absolutely phenomenal amplifier. 1000 watts rms rated and the birth sheet says 1395 watts rms @ 1ohm. Can't beat Rockford dishware for there excellent design and performance. Got this amp powering and re audio sxx v2 12" sub woofer. The sound output is amazing and clear. The C.L.E.A.N. setup is idiot proof so you're guaranteed a nice clean audio signal. No more clipped signals. All and all I have nothing negative to say about this amplifier.
Pros: Worth it if you love car audio. Great looking. Powerful. Powerful. Not sure if I mentioned it but THIS. THING. IS. POWERFUL.

This amp is definately designed for those on a budget but want that 'expensive' sound quality. I'm running two 10" W6V3's in a custom ported enclosure (38hz) @ 1 ohm and this amp stays cool @ high output. Gain is set to 30% and still have plenty of ground pounding, annoying bass :). You won't be disappointed. Don't assume high price means better SQ. Let your ears make the descicion, not your wallet.

i have the p1000.1bd paired with 2 12inch alpine type r duel 4 ohm voice coils and they slam and crisp i wont mention the name of my last amp but it wasent 1000 rms like it said this rockford amp makes the speakers 2 times as loud 2 thumbs up for sure and really easy to set up i totally recommend this product to anyone that needs this kind of powers

This amp is amazing! I have these paired with 2 P3D4-12's wire in parallel to a 1 ohm load and it rocks. What I love about Rockford is their power rating. Sure other manufacturers say 1000 watts but 99% of the time that rating is PEAK. Rockford's 1000 watt amps show RMS power. Spec sheet from manufacturer shows 1365 w @ 1 ohm RMS. WOW. My set up left me speechless! Set up was extremely easy. I would highly recommend this amp to anyone wanting some serious subwoofer flexing in the back of your car or truck. My Tahoe rocks now! Rockford will never let you down.

Class bd Design: Rockford Fosgate bd topology is a patented design, integrating a technology that is more efficient than typical class A/B amps, and has lower distortion than typical class D designs. Punch bd amplifiers are 75-80% efficient, while class A/B amps are typically less than 50% efficient. This means, more power from your amplifier with less drain on your vehicles electrical and charging system.
CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N) over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. Cast Aluminum Heatsink: The cast aluminum heatsink dissipates heat generated by the amplifier's circuitry. The inherent advantage of casting provides a 30% cooling improvement over conventional extrusion heatsink designs.
MEHSA³ (Maximum Efficiency Heat Sink Application-3rd Generation): MEHSA is a Rockford Fosgate proprietary process that increases the heat transfer from the MOSFET devices to the heatsink. The multi-layer insulated metal MEHSA substrate operates with minimal thermal resistance, spreading heat both downward and outward to quickly dissipate heat from each device across the heatsink. This allows greater power output, enhanced thermal stability, and maximum reliability.
NOMAD (NOn-Multiplying Advanced Decision): NOMAD is an intelligent protection circuit that uses an analog computer to make real time decisions regarding temperature, voltage, current and impedance. The amplifier is protected without limiting sound output unless needed.
DSM (Discrete Surface Mount): High speed robotics are used in the manufacturing process to place 1% tolerance parts and large board traces. DSM improves the efficiency of the circuit, decreases cross-talk from other discrete components and lowers operating temperature.
CLEAN Set-Up: Rockford's integrated level setting technology, CLEAN (Calibrated Level Eliminates Audible Noise), replaces sophisticated test equipment with input/output clip LEDs, allowing you to match the source unit's output to the amp's gain, and optimize the amp's output. The input clip indicator works in conjunction with the audio source volume, illuminating red when the source reaches it's clipping point. The output clip indicator works in conjunction with the input level dial on the amp, illuminating the appropriate color depending on the audio content used for the setup.
Power and Protection LEDs: The LEDs are located on top of the amplifier. A blue Power LED illuminates when the amplifier is turned on. A red Thermal LED illuminates if the amplifier overheats. The yellow Protect LED illuminates if a short circuit or too low an impedance is detected at the speaker connections. When any of the protection circuits engage, the amp automatically shuts down until the problem is corrected.
Balanced Differential Inputs: Differential inputs eliminate noise picked up by signal cables by measuring the voltage of both the (+) and (-) input signal, then subtracting the voltage common to both conductors (noise), resulting in only the clean signal entering the amplifier.
Infrasonic Filter: The infrasonic filter is fixed at 28 Hz with a slope of 12dB/octave. This high-pass filter is designed to prevent frequencies below the audio range from being applied to the subwoofer, or reproduced by the amplifier. This improves your subwoofer performance and power handling, particularly in vented enclosures.
Input Level: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the input level is adjustable from 150mV to 12V.
Crossover: The amplifier's internal low-pass crossover has a 12 dB/octave slope. The crossover point is variable from 50 Hz to 250 Hz. The crossover cannot be bypassed (it's not a full range amp).
Punch EQ: The Punch EQ bass boost circuit is continuously variable from 0 to +18 dB, centered at 45 Hz.
Remote Punch Level: When activated, this switch allows the use of a optional remote Punch Level Controller (PLC2).
Infrasonic Filter: A switch allows you to turn the infrasonic filter off if you prefer.
Power Connections: The power and ground terminals are nickel-plated captive c-clamp wire connectors and will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. An external 140-amp fuse (not included) must be installed on the power wire. The remote turn-on terminal will accept up to 12-gauge wire. A Phillips or flat-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Speaker Connections: The two speaker outputs are internally wired in parallel, making it easy to connect two subwoofers. The speaker terminals are also nickel-plated captive c-clamps and will accept up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips or flat-head screwdriver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals.
Signal Input: The RCA inputs will accept either a line-level or speaker-level input. A speaker-level signal can be connected using a Speaker Wire to RCA adapter (sold separately). When using a speaker-level input signal, the auto turn-on feature is active and the remote turn-on terminal becomes a 12 volt output to turn on/off up to two additional amplifiers or other components.
Line Level Output: The amplifier has a pair of RCA line level pass-thru outputs to feed another amplifier. The pass-thru output is passive (the same signal present at the amp's input) and the amp's crossover has no effect on the signal.
Punch Level Control (PLC): An RJ-45 jack is provided for connecting an optional wired remote PLC2 (item number 575PLC2, sold separately), allowing remote control of the output level of the amplifier. A second RJ-45 jack is the PLC output, used to daisy-chain additional amplifiers controlled by a single remote.
Note: Previous model PEQ, Punch Bass, and Para-Punch remotes will not work with this amp.
