Pretty great speakers so far. Had them about 4 months now and definitely am enjoying the sound quality. Installing them was a bit of a hassle, but that is less on the speakers themselves and more on my specific vehicle. I had to break off the 4 corner brackets to get them to fit in properly. And I had to completely rebuild my tweeter set up to make these ones fit into place. Still, after the headache of install, these have been great speakers.

Pros: Good sounds quality

Cons: Tweeters will require some finagling

Zero base, disappointed w Customer Service for recommending these

Crutchfield customer from Beaverton, OR on 9/1/2019

2009 Kia Sportage

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I'm new to installing speakers on my own, and I was told by Crutchfield customer service that these speakers would provide an excellent sound stage and would have decent base. They don't. These speakers are barely better than stock in the mids and highs, and they sorely disappoint when it comes to any base whatsoever - there is zero base. If you have a sub, these speakers might work for you, but if you don't, stay away from these. I'd like to return them for something else, but I threw away the boxes when I installed the speakers, thinking they would eventually "break in".

Pros: Good highs and mids

Cons: Terrible lows, no base at all. Difficult installation instructions, shouldn't have bought these.

So I was excited to get these as I like Rockford Fosgate. That said these are really disappointing and just not worth the money at all. These sound like my stock speakers. I would spend more money on others. I would not recommend these to anyone I care about.

Pros: Clear sound

Cons: Sound like stock speakers. Not worth the price

Crutchfield response on 8/28/2019
Jesse, we're sorry you're disappointed with your speakers. That's a common reaction when replacing car speakers. In the case of these Rockford Fosgate speakers, they're going to need more power than your factory speakers needed in order to sound their best. They likely won't sound good at all on a factory stereo. You'll either need to add an aftermarket stereo or an amplifier (a small, 40-50 watts, 4-channel amp can supply twice the power of an aftermarket stereo and three or four times the power of the typical factory radio) or return these and get speakers with a higher sensitivity. Either way, we'll be glad to help - just give us a call. Purchases from Crutchfield can be returned or exchanged within 60 days of the purchase.

Stellar speakers for the price, tweeters suck though. Installed one of the set and it made a horrendous scratching noise...threw that one in the trash. Other one seemed fine, but I didn't like how it changed the sound in my truck, so I ended up removing that one as well. I'd definitely buy the set again though, with or without the midgets.

Can't beat the quality at this price point. Used this set to upgrade from stock speakers in my CX-5. The sound quality has greatly improved and leaves my ears satisfied now a lot more than before.

Pros: Tweeters prewired with bass blocker.

Cons: Screws that come with the set are long, but this is a con with every set of speakers you typically buy.

A bit difficult to install into 2008 corolla because the small tweeters are not specifically for this vehicle but overall happy with the result.

Pros: Good bass and sound

Cons: Tweeters seem to have a bit of static, not sure if thats due to using a FM Bluetooth Adapter or if there's a problem with the tweeters.

Low end speaker, but better than stock. Descent for the price. Replaced a blown stock speaker in my JKU sound bar. The tweeters do no fit in the existing position and the mounts supplied are only for the 6 1/2" speakers. If you intend on replacing the 6 1/2" and the tweeters, you'll need to buy/fab a mount for the tweeters.

Pros: Price

Cons: Tweeters don't fit without modification or making a mount.

For the price, you can't beat these. Fosgates have a solid reputation and I thought it was a typo when I saw the price because quality = expensive but Crutchfield came through. I didn't use the grilles on any of these components but they're nice. I replaced my dash corner speakers with these and if you toss the OEM tweeter, but keep the bracket, they'll fit perfectly with only a minimally noticeable grill "hump" when using OEM grilles.

Custom adapters needed for Jeep JKU

Brent from Santa Barbara, CA on 6/13/2019

2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The biggest issue with these speakers is that they are not really 6.5" speakers. They are more like 5-1/4, to be honest. I installed them in a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (without factory Alpine stereo) and it took a bit of work and some 1/8" hardboard to make adapters for the tweeters. The supplied plastic adapter plates didn't line up very well, so I fabricated some of those out of hardboard, too, though it wasn't strictly necessary. Also the tweeters had to be spliced into the factory wiring harness by cutting off the connectors and using crimp on butt connectors. Sound-wise they represent a big improvement over the stock paper cones - the mid bass is much more punchy and the highs are super bright (a bit too bright for my taste). I lined the plastic speaker boxes with Dynamat and stuffed them with acoustic batting, which helped a lot, and I used foam gaskets to make an airtight seal between the main speakers and the speaker boxes. They probably need to break in a bit for a true assessment, but so far I'm happy with them but not "blown away". Volume level is about the same as the factory speakers with my Sony AX-200 head unit.

Pros: Great price

Cons: Small driver for a 6.5" speaker

I originally was going to give this speaker set a three star rating, but I still had the factory radio in my 2008 Toyota 4Runner. I listen to primarily music that has a lot of bass, and that has deep and low bass. I had the JBL Synthesis system that was factory, and I was truly impressed with how good that system sounded with it being stock. The issue that I have with these speakers is that they are great in sound for the mid's and the high's, but the low's are awful compared to what i was used to with the JBL system I had. I recently put in a Pioneer MVH 210EX, and that GREATLY improved the sound quality of that low bass. Even now though, if I have the bass turned up all the way, there is often distortion with the vocals and the low bass. I assume that my complaint is mainly power related because I know that my new radio has a higher power output. My main takeaway from this is that if you like music that features a lot of bass in it, either don't get these or make sure you have an aftermarket radio or an amp (I have a factory amp). If I had to do it over again, I would not get these speakers because of my personal taste, I would look specifically for speakers that I knew had very good bass. That being said, I am satisfied with the replacement because my speakers were all dying, but I don't quite have the thick low bass that I crave.

Pros: Clear sound on the mid's and high's

Cons: Bass is distorted if you turn it up too loud, and the bass overall is lacking in my opinion, even with additional power input.

The mids and lows are great. Plenty of bass without losing any clarity. The highs from the tweeters were a bit muted, but that changed when I installed an aftermarket stereo with a little more power.

Pros: Price and bass quality are the biggest pros

Cons: The tweeters need an amp or nice head unit to keep from being drowned out

It's good budget speakers for the the factory deck, I had a Kenwood GPS/DVD deck + a 4 CH amp, this speakers had great high and mid, lack of bass but it's o.k since I am runing as high pass speakers, I still did not like it the way how it sound, the mid missing the warm/smooth vocal...! I may try getting the PUNCH series see if it improve the sound quality.

Pros: Good budget speakers

Cons: Decent mid range sound quality

They were very easy to install but spending this much on 4 speakers that suppost to be better than stock. My stock speakers are 10x times better. These things are so freaking distortaed. When I get the time there do no g out and the stock speakers are going back in. Junk junk junk

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Stock speakers sound so much more better

Crutchfield response on 4/3/2019
Aftermarket speakers, like these Rockford Fosgate component speakers, often require more power to be effective. Factory radios often don't have the power output to do aftermarket speakers justice. When distortion occurs, many times it can be mistaken as a problem with the speakers, but it can actually be a weak amplifier, like the one in a factory radio, having trouble delivering the power that the speakers require. This is when upgrading the radio or adding an amp really allow speakers to sound their best. But as always, whenever you are not completely satisfied with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our Customer Support team at 1-800-955-9091. Purchases from Crutchfield can be returned or exchanged within 60 days of the purchase.

I'm new to the car audio world, I thought that installing new speakers would be really hard but Rockford made it incredibly easy to install. I absolutely love the sound, all I can say is wow! Everything is so much more crisp and the speakers produce a lot more sound now. Not only can they pick up the really low notes but they can also pick up the really high notes thanks to the wider range of the speakers wattage. I'm definitely happy with the outcome, I will be definitely sticking with Crutchfield for my future builds.

This set of components are pretty good for the price you pay for them. The clarity of the vocals are definitely noticeable compared to the 4runner's factory speakers. I originally swapped the factory speakers for Rockford Prime R1525x2 coaxials, which was also an improvement from stocks, but I felt that the sound wasn't very noticeable, probably also due to the very low location of where the speakers are on the door panels. So I decided to change them out again, this time for components and it's definitely an improvement from the coaxials. I mounted the tweeters towards the top of rear door panels, facing towards the rear seat passenger and its much more clear and crisp when sitting in back.

Pros: Very easy to i stall with plug and play adapter that Crutchfield includes with purchase, Clear vocals at higher volume than factory

Cons: Some minor modifying needed to install tweeters, unless you want them flush with panel...then you'll need to cut some larger holes

I have had these for over a year now and I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of them to begin with. They are a straight replacement of factory speakers with no additional amp so I didn't have high expectations. The speakers seem to be getting worse over time. I thought the speaker was coming lose in one of my doors because of the bad sound. I took the door off and no, just bad sounding speakers. I really think I may have to get something else. I hate to do that in a 10-year-old car with 100,000 miles but I don't think I have much choice.

Great speakers, horrible tweeters

The speakers themselves? Amazing. 5 stars, they sound fantastic. The tweeters? Couldn't have a worse design. I spent hours trying to get a tight fit on my door panels. I even resorted to trying to use my 3/4 kicker tweeters I had laying around but the hole I drilled was already too big. Ending up having to hold it in with GORILLA GLUE just to keep it from falling out until I could order and install some Alpine Tweeters of the same size with a screw on back plate.

Pros: Speakers are amazing. Love the sound, great bass. They'd probably sound even better on a 4 channel amp

Cons: These tweeters have such a poor mounting design that I had to use gorilla glue just to keep them in place until my Alpine tweeters with a screw on back showed up. There is NO way to get these tweeters to mount tight and flush, the brackets that come with them supposedly "snap on". Even if you DO get them to stay, you're gonna have a gap. But most likely you'll get one side off, the other side will pop out and it'll fall off repeatedly

Pick something else. Factory 16 f150 base speakers sound better. It's not a true 6.5, it barely measures 6" on the outside mounting flange. No true crossovers tweater is really light and chincy. I spoke to a rep and am returning these and giving some kickers a shot.. all doors were fully dynamat extreme wrappedll). Wish I could leave 5 stars for the crutchfield support staff, they are the best Find somewhere to hear these in person if you dont believe me

Pros: Good for replacing blow out 20 year old stock speakers maybe?

Cons: Everything. Sad that Rockford even put there name on these.

Needed to replace the speakers in a Jaguar xk8 convertible. I wanted to keep the car as original as possible so I needed to retain the head unit and the wiring. With the R165 component systems I was able replace the door speakers and the separate higher mounted twitter. I also replaced speakers in the rear with the PUNCH two way speakers. The original radio has enough power to drive all the speakers and they sound very good. Granted the original speakers were trash but the sound I am getting from the speakers with the old radio compares equally with newer high end systems. I am only giving 4 stars because the Fosgate speakers are not water proof and that could be a problem with a convertible.

Unsure at First, But Better Now

2011 Hyundai Santa Fe

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to replace the stock speakers in my 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe (basic unit without factory sub woofer). The old paper speakers were getting unbearable after seven years, but I did not want to break the bank on a system upgrade for this particular vehicle and I knew I also wanted to amp the system and add a small EQ for more clarity and control. These RF speakers appeared to be just what I was looking for. Installation was relatively easy. The hardest parts were drilling out the rivets holding my stock speakers, and fashioning a harness for the new tweeters to fit in the stock locations. Once installed, I was initially unimpressed with the sound of the speakers. The highs were bright and crisp, but seemed to overwhelm the muddy, non-responsive bass and low mid-range sound. Unlike others, I resisted the impulse to remove the speakers immediately. That seems to have been a good move. After a few days, the speakers have worn-in some and have become more responsive. The stiffness of the bass has subsided, and the sound has become more full. I ordered RF three-ways for the back doors, and I am hoping that they, along with the amp and EQ, once installed, will balance out the sound even more. If you have the same experience, resist the temptation to remove the speakers and give them a week or so to gain some flexibility. You may be pleasantly surprised. I gave these speakers 4 stars because of the good clarity and improved sound. I will update later.

Pros: Clear, crisp highs Ample wiring included for tweeter location

Cons: Inadequate low frequency response out of the box produced muddy bass and lower mid-range.

All the forums I read on upgrades said add poly fill to speaker enclosures, that did not work at all with these. The low end was muffled and cut off to the point of being unusable. Removed the poly fill and better, but still not a huge improvement over stockers. Run no top and the volume at +18 most of the time.

I like real rock-n-roll and punk and these are just too tinny for me. I am sure all the aftermarket audio these days is for Hip Hop and EDC, where all that repetitive high hat needs to be heard. The speakers are of great quality for the money, but for my taste the highs with this set up are crazy high and the mids seem a bit muddy. I am not hating at all on RF as I have two sets of Fosgate 3-ways in the rest of the vehicle with a powered sub and they sound great.

These speakers are a great buy. They pump out a lot of sound for their size considering they replaced 6X9's. They sound a lot better then the stock speakers and don't cost an arm and a leg.

Pros: The free installation kit was very handy. Thank you Crutchfield!!!

Cons: Since these were component speakers, there was some modifications that had to be made to the installation kit, but nothing too difficult.

These speakers sound great! They are replacing some old JL TR600-CXi coaxals as I wanted to upgrade to components and the JL's were getting old. I'm not at all diappointed. Perfect fit using the same SA69 adaptors. I like that these newer speakers have the 6.75" mounting wings so they can be used in 6.5 or 6.75 openings, unlike many others.

Pros: Perfect fit, loud clear sound

Cons: Rated power handling

Nicely made speakers that look like high quality. The high and mid bass sound pretty clean. However, the speakers have a tinny sound to them which to me is not very pleasing and very hard to adjust to an acceptable level. The bass is not poor but my factory speakers were better. These were suggested to me by a Crutchfield representative and he missed the mark.

Whomever designed the diameter of the tweeter never performed a flush mount installation. Good luck in finding a knockout punch/die that will cut a 46.4mm / 1.82 inch hole, as I spent more time than needed wondering around looking for something to clean cut this hole in the rear door panel. As they now are in a box on a shelf in the garage. Also the speaker is not a 6-1/2" it is 5" speaker and doesn't sound very good...

Up graded factory speakers in 2012 Jeep Unlimited. Has factory component speakers in front. Was hard to install as I was keeping factory head, amps and wiring. Installed mid woofer using supplied rings after adding some sound deadening material in the kneee panel speaker boxes. Also added some poly-fill in back of factory box in the knee panel. Then removed the factory tweeter and trimmed half of the tabs off from the back of factory tweeter grill to allow the replacement tweeter to fit nicely. Added a touch of epoxy on each of the three trimmed tabs to help hold the tweeter. Clipped the factory wire harness and wire to the replacement tweeter. After snapping the factory tweeter grill back into place on the top of the dash and a few screws installing the lower mid-woofers it was ready. Major up-grade from factory speakers using factory head and factory amps. These speakers coupled with the previously installed sub-woofer amp powering twin 12" subs. What a great combo with a stock look up front. Was worried the tweeter wouldn't fit well into the small tweeter pod on the corners of the dash of the Jeep. Don't hesitate because they do with just a little alteration to the stock tweeter grill. They sound great for a super price. Major clarity in highs and mids compared to the factory paper speakers. It is not a difficult project and a great improvement.

Pros: Major improvement from stock speakers. Much clearer in the highs and mid fill in nicely. Was easy to install.

Cons: None for the low cost.

One word......WOW....I expected to be a little let down by these. Lower end line of the brand , no external crossover for the woofer, and never really looked twice at RF.. But these little guys rock. Been chasing this sound for a long time. I say little because they almost look closer to a 5 1/4 than a 6 1/2. But they pump out major sound. Running 4 of them {2 in the front does and 2 in the back doors} at 50 watts per channel and no matter how high I push the gain, I cant drive them into distortion. Had to back off just to be safe. Lows are warm and super smooth and deep. Highs are brilliant and crystal clear. If your not getting super sound and lots of it from these speakers, your doing something wrong...Monster bang for the buck. RF hit these out of the park.

Good factory upgrade, not perfect

John from Upstate, NY on 4/30/2017

2016 Mazda MX5

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I wanted to upgrade the factory system on my 2016 Miata Sport. I added a powered sub in the trunk and decided to improve the main speakers next. I had two requirements: I wanted to use factory wiring for the door speakers and the pillar tweeters, so I did not want to deal with an external crossover, and I wanted speakers that could be powered with the factory radio. These speakers meet both requirements. The tweeters have a built in high pass filter, so that takes care of the crossover. On the downside though, there is no way to reduce tweeter level, which you would normally do on a crossover. Dialing down the high end on my radio helped even if not the ideal way. In this install there is a "modified fit" for the tweeters. I decided to cut out the original pillar plastic grills and flush mounting these. After a little finessing with a dremel, this worked well and looks fantastic. The door speakers were supposed to be a direct replacement with the plastic mount adapters, but that was not the case. Minimal tweaking worked here, mainly in the form of drilling a couple new mounting screw holes. The included Metra speaker connection harnesses did work well. I opted to add 150hz bass blockers to hopefully maximize volume and clarity from the door speakers. Works well overall, but, I will probably be adding a two channel amp and removing the blockers. I need a little more power to match the sub and compete with wind when the top is down. Overall, very good speakers fo

Pros: No external crossover to try to wire in to factory wiring or to try to find room for. Aimable tweeters improve stereo image, and they bring amazing clarity. Good improvement over factory and don't require external amp to sound good.

Cons: Tweeters can be a little overbearing, and, without a crossover, all you can do is dial down the high end/treble on your stereo. No Crutchfield install sheet for my car. Bummer, but I figured it out (I'm pretty handy).

Once I got them in, these speakers sound great. I installed them in a 99 Toyota Camry, and unfortunately the upper tweeters did not fit in the enclosure for the car, so I had to grind down the outer rim of each tweeter and jury-rig the mounting. And the lower speakers also had to be jury-rigged since the adaptor sent with the speakers did not fit the position of the screws for the car. I didn't like having to drill into the door.to install them. BUT, as I said, once they got in, they sound great!

Pros: Speakers sound great

Cons: Speakers did not fit the car, had to be jury-rigged to install.

The negative: Not enough thought was put into the installation of the mounting brackets or securing the speakers to the mounting brackets. 1. Sheet metal screws to mount speaker bracket aren't provided. I used Model # 116061 from Home Depot (#12 x 3/4" self-tapping). Just drill the hole a bit smaller than the screw. I drilled a practice hole to determine which drill bit to use (watch out for any wiring you might hit). I also used the blue version of Loctite just to make sure they screws stayed in place. Probably not necessary. 2. The screws provided to mount the speakers to the bracket are too long. They extend beyond the bracket so that when you go to mount the bracket to the frame, the screws hit first. Not sure who thought this was ok. I ended up using nuts and bolts from Lowes (Model # 491289 #8-32 x 3/4") to mount the speakers to the bracket. 4. When marking the holes for the mounting bracket, mark which hole in the door lines up with which hole in the mounting bracket. I had't done that and had just mounted the speaker in the bracket without paying attention. When I went to mount the bracket, I discovered that the terminals where the speaker leads attached to were hitting part of the wiring harness. I had to rotate the speaker 180 degrees in the bracket to get it away from the wiring harness. With that said, these speakers feel solid and sound great in the car. I couldn't believe how cheap the factory speakers looked and felt. HUG

Pros: Inexpensive, great sound, solid feel.

Cons: Difficulties mounting the speakers.

I see a lot of reviews bashing these speakers for no bass? I however was very surprised how much they do have! These speakers rock! Knuckle draggers that think shaking windows is music will never get it. These hit the highs mids and get farther into the lows then I expected for sure! If you are the type that wants nothing more then mirror, molding and license plates to shake off (NOT MUSIC!) they are not for you, furthermore as they brake in they are getting even better! Paired with the right head unit they are awesome!

Installed in 2001 4Runner with no problems but not much of an improvement over the stock speakers . I even installed a Pioneer head unit at the same time and wasn't too impressed with the sound. Plan on hooking up an amp to see if it sounds any better. Kinda wish I spent a little more and get true separates with an external xover

Pros: Exact fit in my application

Cons: Not a big improvement over stock. Maybe just bass response but highs not so good

Good value, especially for factory head units

Gus from Austin, TX on 8/3/2016

2010 MINI Cooper

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The head unit on a Mini Cooper is a nightmare to replace and the sound on the "boost cd" system seemed like garbage no matter how I adjusted the settings. After some research, I found the factory front door speakers consisted of a 6 1/2" woofer at the ankle and a 4" midrange at the knee. There was no tweeter, which is why the frequency response for the car is spec'd to only get up to 14kHz. (oh, so THAT'S why it sounded like garbage) The factory wiring has these two speakers wired in parallel. After removing the door panels, the (crutchfield supplied) speaker mounting plates worked well for installing the lower woofers, and I used universal backstraps which were installed in the location of the 4" midrange as a place to mount the RF R165-S tweeter. The crossover network is in the speakers themselves, so that was a non-issue. Once installed, I was glad I went through with it. I could finally hear the snap in snare drums, hi hats, and esses in the vocals. I didn't expect bass to change too much because the surface area wasn't changed, but there actually is better efficiency of bass even with the factory head. Music played and sampled ranges from Coltrane, James Brown, and lesser compressed older music to newer stuff like St. Vincent, Queens of the Stone Age, Beck, and Iggy Pop. All of it manages to sound much better, even over road noise. No, it won't sound like you got a sub, but it was an easy step for phasing out the paper cone treble blues.

Pros: Inexpensive for a component set, Great response to a lower RMS factory head unit, very good balance at flat EQ settings, no regrets

Cons: wiring leads may be flimsy if you need to remove the connection more than once

Although I don't have experience with speaker performance & comparison, these speakers are a great bang for the buck. I paired with a Kenwood Excelon DDX6902S, which drives the speakers to give a great all around response. I replaced my factory speakers, and am very impressed with the difference in performance. Do note: these do not perform well with a low output factory radio. I've noticed a few bad reviews where people complain about lack of bass response. I noticed when I initially installed the speakers and still had the factory radio, it was not enough to fully drive these speakers.)

Pros: Great overall performance- clear highs and lows. Price for performance is tough to beat.

Installed speakers in a couple hours, not too bad. Speakers sound clear, but do not have the same volume as the factory speakers. They are not as loud and they need more base. I am not expecting a louder/harder base, but it is less than the factory speakers. I will end up adding a small amp.

Pros: Good clear sound

Cons: Needs to match factory base and volume

First off the speakers sound great. Hit the highs and midst very well.nice little punch to them. I'm running them off my Kenwood head unit at 22 watts and they sound pretty good. Very pleased with them so far but, I am disappointed with Crutchfield. First they said I would need to buy the mounting brackets for these speakers. That is not the case they drop right in with no problems. Of course I didn't no this until I had already drilled out the rivets of the factory mount. Second the speaker wire adapters were useless. They sent the male end the connection when really you need the female end to be able to use these. I ended up just cutting the end off and making it work. Could have been much easier with the right products or information..

Pros: Good speakers. Nice punch with just a head units 22 watts

Cons: None on speakers

These are great speakers for their price, providing good clear sound just from the power output from my Pioneer AVH headunit. Some reviews have complained that they "lack bass" and, while they do lack a little bit, their clarity more than makes up for that; they can play much louder and clearer than my stock speakers could (provided I watch my eq settings) and actually play louder at a lower volume setting. I have since added on a cheap powered 10" subwoofer to round things out (a certain brand available at a large discount store....didn't want to spend much on a car I'll be selling in under a year) and it is now near to perfect. With the sub filling the low frequencies and the RF comps up front with RF 2-ways in the rear high-passed properly, I get what I wanted which is good sound quality and a small amount of bump for not too much money for all four speakers and the powered sub. Granted, I'm not driving around trying to rattle the doors of everyone around me, I'm just trying to play it at a level that is enjoyable to me for the hour+ I spend driving in the car to and from work daily. I'm way past the "super loud and rattle my kidneys" stage of car audio, and music in a car that loud is just dumb and dangerous.

Pros: Clarity of sound, power efficiency

A Great Upgrade from Stock Speakers

I found these easy to install and a huge improvement over my stock speakers. I've turned up the volume louder than I would ever be able to continuously listen and they still sound clean. I didn't need the mounting brackets that were supplied for the woofer/midrange. They fit the factory holes. The supplied adapters for the factory wiring made connecting them a breeze. For the tweeter I just used a little hot glue to make sure it stayed in place in the factory location and connected the wiring to the woofer instead of the factory wiring that was previously connected to the old tweeter. The price was reasonable for great sounding speakers.

Pros: Easy install, Great Sound, Fair Price

Bought these to replace 14 year old stock Pioneers. Was quite surprised regarding the physical appearance of the old speakers, but with the new ones installed, there is a perceptible improvement of range and clarity. Nothing negative to report other than I wish they could be ordered without the grill, as it is a waste to just toss them.

Pros: Best value components to replace stock.

Cons: As many have reviewed, the bass is lacking right out of the box.

Met every requirement I was after. The component set fit with no issue or adapters, making this purchase that much better. Secondly, the component set was lower in price than other products in its class. Further, the sound was excellent for the product, exceeding expectation. Lastly, this set is simplified with no crossover leaving less items to deal with or sort out when doing a professional style installation - the tweeter has a high pass filter built in and the kids utilize great frequency response and cutoff. Definitely recommend this component set if you're in the market.

Easy to install. I would have given a 4 out of 5 star but one of the tweeters were wired wrong. Positive wire was soldered into negative and negative was soldered into positive. I couldn't figure out why one of the tweeters worked and one did not. I finally cut the wires and switched the connection around. Overall sound quality is decent. Not great, but good. My stock speakers sounded better. I figure since I spent the money on these speakers and installed it, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of taking it out and shipping it to return so I just kept it.

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Not worth the price. Sound quality is worst than my stock speakers. One of the tweeter's positive wire was soldered into negative and negative was soldered into positive. It took me a while to be able to determine the problem.

I needed these as part of a simple speaker replacement in my Frontier. I did not want to have to hide any additional crossovers, so these were perfect. They have performed way better than anticipated, the tweeters pick up exactly what I want and the woofers are quite responsive.

Great Speakers easy to install, comes with the Speaker Mounting bracket and wiring adapter. Gave them a 4 for a few reasons, 1. The tweeters could have easily also had a wiring adapter as well, The screws to mount the speaker to the adapter ring too long, caused me to slip and puncture the foam ring. I used smaller screws to mount the speakers after that. They Sound Great!

Pros: Easy to install with the provided kits

Cons: Tweeter has to be custom installed and no wiring kit. Screws to mount speaker in the adapter kit too long they only need to be 1/2" Max
