Sounds very good, not much very low bass but a tight sounding bass with my Sony receiver. Had to put one screw in the supplied mounting bracket then drill the rest of the holes using the holes in the speaker, not much of a big deal. Overall good sounding speaker for the price

Pros: Good clean tight sound

Cons: Not much for low bass compared to kickers I had before

Rocking with the Rockford Fosgate

Replaced the stock paper speakers on my 2018 Chevy Silverado LT All Star Edition on both front (R1675X2) and rear doors (R165X3). WOW! What an improvement in sounds and with a decent bass. I am using the factory radio. Sound is definitely crisper and fuller than the stock paper one. I like the fact that now you can view Crutchfield's install instructions via PDF file on your smartphone, tablet, or CPU. I did not remove the entire interior door panels (front and rear) to install the speakers. I just remove the screws and opened the lower half of the panel. I used a piece of wood to brace the panel and the door. There was enough room to install by reaching from the bottom of the door. It took me about an hour overall to install these AWESOME speakers. I removed the Rockford Fosgate emblem on the grill and glued them on the door panel grill and one by the stock radio. I used a heat gun to loosen the glue and a pick to lift up the emblem. Now, my Silverado looks like it was upgraded at the factory with Rockford Fosgate. I did have to remove the tabs from the adapters in order for the speakers to sit flat on the adapters and the negative speaker terminal was a tad bigger then the adapter female connection. I did have to remove the tabs from the adapters in order for the speakers to sit flat on the adapters and the negative speaker terminal was a tad bigger then the adapter female connection.

Pros: Good bass, excellent highs, good mid. Easy install. AWESOME Sound compared to stock paper speakers. Affordability.

Cons: Negative terminal speakers just a tad bigger than the female adapter connection. Have to remove the tabs from the speaker adapters.

Great speakers

The sound quality is really nice! These are way better than the factory speakers. The install was really easy thanks to Crutchfield for suppling the mounts and connectors at no extra cost. You will have to work the mounts a little bit to make the speakers fit. I had the pry out the inner tabs (just have to bend and pull with pliers). And there is no cutting wires with the connectors.

Pros: Great sound

Cons: Not much bass.

These guys sound great for the price that I paid. You always expect a much greater sound when upgrading over stock. I was not disappointed, and my daughter was really surprised at the difference in the sound. The mounting holes did not match up well to the brackets, but I was able to make some modifications and I do not know if it is the speakers' fault or the brackets' fault.

Pros: Great sound for a great price.

Cons: The mounting holes did not match up well to the brackets.

Ordered these for to replace the stock door speakers on my 2008 Honda Civic. Unfortunately, these aren't a great fit if your just using the supplies adapters. I have to drill a mounting hole to get these to sit flush in the adapters. Nothing too complicated but a little time consuming. Great sound! Nice upgrade from the stock speakers. Great quality for the price! I hadn't purchased a Rockford Fosgate products since the early 2000s, very surprised at the sound!

Sound much better than the stock speakers in my Nissan Versa 2017. However I did have to modify the adapters that came included and find good screws to attach the speakers to them was a pain. But the product is great.

Pros: Sounds good

Cons: Fitment issues due to size 6.75. They fit in most card with a 6.5 but the adapters will need a bit of modification. At least just breaking off some tabs.

Easy to install in RAV4, good mids and highs

Kile from NC on 3/29/2019

2007 Toyota RAV4

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

For a 2007 (or thereabouts) RAV4, toss the hardware kit from the speakers. Go get a box of #8-32x3/4" panhead machine screws, lock washers, washers, and nuts. Get a box of #8x3/4" self-tapping screws. Mount the new speaker adapter rings using the machine screws, lock washers, etc. The holes in the speaker won't align with the adapter ring, so just start by drilling one hole using a 1/8" bit. The self-tapping screws work very well, even in the pre-drilled holes. Proceed to drill the remaining holes and install screws. I used 8 screws on one speaker and 7 on the other, since the plastic is thinner where you'll drill the holes. Finish up by lining the front surround of the speaker with 1/2"x1/2" self-adhesive window foam. Works great! I was looking for more mids and highs and this speaker works very, very well for me. Enough bass, but not overpowering. I installed another model of the R-Fs in the other set of doors. (Forgive the bad focus in the pic...I was tired.)

Pros: Went in easily (with some extra drilling), good mids and highs, bass is satisfactory

Cons: Doesn't fit the adapter ring without some drilling, but it will work

Great quality for a factory stereo

Replaced the rear speakers in my wife's Nissan Rogue. These sound great playing off the factory stereo along with the Pioneer 6x9s that we put in the front doors. Installation was fairly easy using the wiring harness and speaker mounts that Crutchfield supplied. I did use a Dremel to cut a slot for the wiring harness to pass through the speaker mount and cut a couple of tabs off to the speaker mount to make everything sit flush. There were probably other ways to make this work, but that was the quickest and easiest way for me.

Pros: sound quality

I guess these are fine. I bought them for a 2008 Honda Civic because I had one dead speaker and another on its way out. As stated before by other reviewers, the spacer rings included do not fit these speakers. Save yourself the trouble of trying to make them fit and just buy a 6.5" speaker instead. In my opinion, they sound less muffled than the stock speakers, but there is no bass. And after recently being in the car for a 3.5-hour drive, I didn't find their sound very pleasant after a while. I found the mid and high tones to be sharp to my ear, almost shrill. I felt like there was a certain amount of roundness, or refinement, missing from these speakers. But, they are cheap, so, you get what you pay for, and I was just paying to have working speakers again. These are NOT some kind of diamond in the rough. They are a cheap, passable speaker, but their sound quality is not up to par of more expensive options.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Great speakers for the price! I ordered these to replace stock front door speakers on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. I emailed ahead to find direct replacement speakers, and I was told by "Woody" and by the in-site compatibility checker that these would fit directly. Unfortunately, they did not and were not a direct replacement. The mounting hole pattern was 1/8" larger than stock. I managed to drill new mounting holes and use the supplied screws and retention clips to install these speakers into my door panel. The end result was factory looking speakers with fabulous sound. I give these speakers 5 stars because they are great sounding speakers and can't blame the speaker company on it not directly fitting into 20,000 different vehicles. Definitely, a great buy from a great store!

Pros: Great sound. Low price. Quality speaker.

Cons: May not be a direct fit for your application. Be prepared to modify if needed.

These deliver as much quality sound as a reasonable person might expect from low priced, 6 1/2" round speakers. The highs are clear, the midrange is good and the bass adequate if you don't expect to rattle the cars next to you at red lights. A very similar 3-way version of these speakers provides better highs with its dedicated tweeter, but was a little too deep for installation in my rear doors. If you're one of those folks who expect $200 performance out of $20 speakers, buy something more expensive and you won't be disappointed. Crutchfield customer service (River in my case) was superb. The free, included mounts and adapters were perfect for my car and made installation straightforward and quick.

Pros: - The best sound you can expect from low cost, 2-way, 6 1/2" round speakers - Free supplied mounting adapters and wiring harness fit perfectly and made installation a breeze - Superb customer service, backed by years of research and expertise.

Cons: - None

Included screws are too long to fit the door frame........

Alan from Dry Ridge, KY on 1/5/2019

2017 Nissan Versa Note

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I purchased these to replace my stock speakers in my 2017 nissan Versa Note. These were supposed to fit with the recommended speaker bracket sold separately. The included screws are too long. After the speaker is mounted on the speaker bracket, the screws protrude out too far from the back of the bracket and prevent the speaker bracket itself from mounting onto the vehicle's door frame. I had to purchase smaller screws. This is something to keep in mind and should have been noted when purchasing these speakers. Luckily I was smart enough to install them in a Walmart parking lot because I knew I would have to buy SOMETHING else to make it work. The sound is OK but not great. They sound good for what they cost. The highs are much clearer than the factory speakers that use a "whizzer" instead of a tweeter. This should be the main reason for upgrading speakers. The bass is relatively the same but the midrange is less honky.

Pros: Nice clean non-fatiguing highs. Looks well built. Woofer not obstructed by tweeter.

Cons: Midrange is somewhat recessed. Highs are not as sparkling as on metallic tweeters.

Never got to use speakers. Customer support recommended these speakers for 2006 civic. They absolutely do not fit the mounting bracket. I spoke to a tech about the issue and he suggested that I drill My own holes in bracket. The bracket is for 61/2 inch speakers. Not 6 3/4. Obliviously you cannot still a 6 3/4 hole in a 6 1/2 piiexe of plastic. They stated they have sold these for a long time. Obviously they never attempted these speakers in the bracket they provide. It simply does not work. If you call in for advice. Be aware they may not know what their talking about.

I bought these to upgrade my front speakers on my Civic as the stock speakers sounded a little muddy and didn't give me enough volume. Installing the new speakers definitely cleared up the music and added the volume. I am using the stock head unit so I lost a bit of bass but that was to be expected. Messing with the audio settings on my head unit (and the EQ on the app I use to stream music via bluetooth) fixed that problem for the most part. I couldn't be happier with the speakers.

Pros: Clearer sound More volume than stock

Cons: Lose some bass when using stock head unit

Cons: Had to cut out tabs on the speaker mount for it to go all the way through and find shorter screws to where it didnt hit the frame of the car

Installed in my wife's 2013 Honda Accord Sport. These speakers were perfect since the stock radio setup does not include component speakers. Rockford Fosgate does an excellent job separating the highs and mids with this speaker and the end result is flawless. Over stock, SO MUCH more crisp and clear; also a noticable punch to them.

For the on-sale price, these are great. They play loud easily, and can sound clean. They probably should be crossed at lowest 100hz to a sub for best results, xmax is very small and some minimal distortion on lower octaves.

Pros: cheap in price but good quality, play loud easily

Cons: little xmax, no bass, cross these higher than you think to reduce distortion

Purchased to replace the 18 year old Bose in my Miata, worked great but you need to adapt the old speaker housing or get the mount panel kit as the holes are 8" and the largest speaker is 6.75", I disassembled the Bose and used the frame and speaker cover with the new speaker sandwiched between them. I also deleted the Bose Amplifier as the original system is 2 ohm. Sound great definitely worth the efforts.

Pros: Excellent sound

Cons: Had almost everything needed to install, should have been told I would need a mounting plate or something wound up being a 3 hour job versus a 1 hour job.

Great upgrade with OEM radio

2014 Mazda 6

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

These replace factory "Bose" door speakers in a Mazda. I have only replaced the blown one, waiting for cooler weather to do the other. The OEM radio assigns these to be woofers, so I can only vouch for bass, which is crisp. It's about an inch less diameter than the original, so I will need to up the EQ, but bass is deep and clean. Poly material in the cones should hold up better than the original paper (recycled newsprint?) as car doors are never 100% watertight.

Pros: Looks and feels like quality. Good, clean low frequency response.

Cons: Many mounting holes around the perimeter, but none appear to match any predrilled mounting schemes.

These speakers were installed in a 2012' Hyundai Sonata. They are a tremendous improvement over the stock factory speakers! The only issue was the included speaker adapter brackets. They probably would have fit the 6 1/2' versions of these speakers, but the holes would not line up properly on these 6 3/4' speakers, and the diameter of the bracket was just a little smaller than needed to properly screw the speaker to the bracket. The adapter brackets mated up to the vehicle just fine, however, so my solution was to use J-B Kwik Weld to attach the speaker to the plastic adapter, and then screw that assembly to the vehicle. Worked perfectly! The J-B Kwik Weld sets up in about 5 minutes, fully cures in 4-6 hours and is more than strong enough. For the money, it would be VERY hard to beat these speakers. I think they have a very balanced overall sound, with plenty of bass to balance the mids and highs. These speakers are also fairly efficient and will play with plenty of volume...Cleanly! . If you're looking to greatly improve the sound over your factory speakers at an incredible price, these are for you. You won't be disappointed!

Pros: Balanced sound Plays cleanly at loud volumes Incredible value!

Cons: Included adapter brackets required some imagineering to work No included Rockford Fosgate decals for your vehicle ;-)

Nice Speakers, Junk Adapters

William from Columbia, SC on 7/18/2018

2006 Toyota Tundra

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought these to replace factory speakers in the front doors of my 2006 Tundra. To be brutally honest, the free adapter kit is JUNK. Not one hole on the speakers lined up with any holes on the adapter nor the holes in my door. Metal tab nuts were supplied so I figured I'd mark new holes, drill them myself and install the tab nuts and I'd be done. WRONG again! I drilled holes and attempted to install the tab nuts. The lip of the adapter was too thick and the tabs were so weak and thin that they bent and even after you got them on, the holes would not line up because the tab was so stretched out. I spoke with a nice woman at Crutchfield who tried her best to help but ended up referring me to Tech Support. I got a nice guy on the phone and after explaining my problem, his solution was to simply drill holes and screw directly into the face of the plastic adapter. I didn't like that solution and tried to figure out a way to use the speaker rings that came out of my truck but, in the end, I took the tech support guy's "fix" and that is what I did. Not sure how long such an install is really going to last. Now, the speakers. They sound quite nice, somewhat better than the factory speakers though I would expect them to. I think for the $, they are good speakers and would recommend them. My dilemma is that I need 2 more speakers for the back doors but don't want to have to fool with that awful install kit. Surely Crutchfield can find a better adapter kit?

Pros: Crisp, clear sound, more bass than I would have expected.

Cons: Adapter kit is all but useless. Will try to make original rings work if I replace rear door speakers.

Installed in the rear doors of a Ford Escape SE. I now can hear the high tones, but the mid and low tones are similar to stock speakers, if not a bit worse. I have read that speakers will 'loosen up' over time and punch out more bass. I'm hoping that is the case here. The adapters needed trimming and new holes drilled, but worked OK.

Pros: High tones, easy install

Cons: Lack mid and bass tones.

Good speakers, sound good, but did not bolt into supplied adapters for Honda. Had to drill in extra holes to mount. So extra work made for much longer installation. Not problem with speakers but a fitment challenge.

Pros: Good sounding better than stock. More efficient and wider range. Good price too.

Cons: Extra work to get them installed with supplied Honda mounting rings made for a longer install time. Had to drill out mounting holes and cut mounting screws after mounted to Honda adapter ring making accessing ring mounting screw difficult.

For the price, don't get me wrong. These speakers are great if you want treble, but if you're looking for bass these just don't have it. For factory replacements, they're not bad (as my front speakers had no treble at all) but they are very disappointing when the bass doesn't match the treble quality. Buying the P1 6x9's for the rear deck. Hopefully that will even things out.

Pros: Hits high notes decently with no distortion

Cons: Disappointed in the bass from the speakers.

When I saw these legendary brand speakers on sale I was a little skeptical on how well they would perform, but boy am I glad I purchased them. I am running two pairs of them on an Alpine 40w per ch. rms power amp at 90Hz high-pass in the doors of my 2002 Maxima, and they are loud and as clear as a bell with virtually zero distortion. I have used this amp with other brand speakers and I must say these are the best sounding I've used with it. The sound they produce is that of speakers of much greater cost. Still can't believe the quality sound for the price, plus free wire harnesses and mounting adapters with purchase. Can't beat that!

Pros: Great quality sound, low distortion, and great price for the brand.

Cons: None that I can see so far.

poor sound, but may be due to OEM stereo

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Overall the sound was worse than factory. But i'm not going to totally blame the speakers right off the bat. I installed these in the rear doors of my 2011 Prius with factory stereo. I installed a previous set of RF Primes in the front door and dash and the sound was a marked improvement. I installed the left speaker first and compared it to the right and was amazed that the range was so poor. I put the old one back in for now and will replace the head unit before doing the speakers again(I was planning on donig that later anyway). I'm not 100% convinced that it's the speakers though, as I think the output from the OEM head unit may be unable to power even these speakers properly. So if you have an upgraded stereo you will most likely have better results.

Pros: * they -should- perform much better than the OEM speakers, which had magnets roughly the size of a $1.50 stack of quarters * easy RMA!

Cons: * sound out of the box was very poor, with almost no low end and not much range at all

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Purchased two sets of this speaker to replace the factory speakers in my 2016 Mazda CX-5. These give me a more balanced sound with some actual bass, which the stock speakers lacked. The speakers can be modified to allow separate connections to the woofer and tweeter, which I may do at a later date. My only issue was with the mounting brackets that Crutchfield sent. I had to modify all four brackets. The front speakers did line up with any of the holes in the bracket, forcing me to drill new ones. The rear brackets had no cutout for the speaker wires, so I had to cut out a small section to route the wires through. The rear brackets were also a bit too small to properly line up with the mounting holes, so I had to put the screws in at a angle.

Pros: Great sounding speaker, well balanced.

Cons: Mounting brackets provided by Crutchfield had to be modified to fit my vehicle.

Replaced my 2 front door speakers with these bad boys and I love them so far. I was emailed installation instructions, disassembly instructions and wiring harness and mounting brackets for free! I also received full instructions for my entire car! I really wish i would have known to have a panel tool before hand but other than that I was totally satisfied. Would recommend this gem. Thanks Crutchfield team!

Pros: Easy to read installation instructions. Easy to use wiring harness. Clear quality. Loud. Cool looking.

Cons: Might have to "modify" brackets Needs a general panel tool.

Great upgrade from stock speakers. Clean sound and a very "bright" speaker. Although crutchfield had these as a replacement, the change from 6.5 stock to these 6.75 wasn't straightforward. The adapter kit was all but useless, since it was for 6.5. Ended up making my own out of MDF.

Great overall performance compared factory. Removed the door grilles and used Fosgate's!! Awesome appearance bonus also. 4ohms only affect low volume, but you can't hear low volume anyways. Volume 10-60 clear winner and better low, mids, highs. Normally a kicker guy but that's were on sale and what the heck. Would do it again at full price.

The speaker had a larger diameter than the mounts and caused it to not line up with more than one slot at a time. The mount did not fit into the precut hole in the door that the original speaker was in. Kit works with significant modifications.

Pros: Speakers worked very nice.

I chose these speakers due to the lower wattage specs. These are replacing the rear speakers in a Accord Coupe with the Premium Audio. The factory amp seems to drive them fine. The tweeters in the speakers now create a clarity throughout the entire car. Before you could clearly tell any higher pitched tones were coming from the tweeters in the door sails. Now the clarity is balanced through out the car. Vocals are less muddy and clear too. Speakers feel well built and are pretty shallow mounting so they should work for most applications.

I normally use Infinity speakers to replace my vehicles stock equipment. This time I decided to try RF. I am pleasantly surprised. They sound great and got rid of the muddy sound my stock speakers had. Please note: initially after install I thought these had zero bass response. While they were clearer, my stockers had more bass response. After a few days of playing normally, they have loosened up and now have a nice full sound with good bass for a small full range speaker. All in all completely satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: Price, clarity over stockers, nice bass once they break in. Bonus that they come with the metra harness and adapters for free.

Cons: None so far

I purchased these to go in the rear deck of my 2015 civic as the the Rockford Fosgates I purchased for the front supposedly don't fit in the rear. I am very unimpressed with these speakers. I purchased the Punch P1675 version for the front. May not be fair to compare them but but these offered me next to zero improvement over factory and the adapter rings that came with them were a nightmare to fit to the speaker. Nearly destroyed one speaker trying to drill holes that line up to the ring. I wished I had purchased the same ones I used for the front for the back and custom fit them. cause the Punch P1675's are really really good in contrast to these.

Pros: It's Rockford Fosgate.

Cons: No improvement over factory speakers.

These speakers are fantastic for entry level, but as others have said be prepared to drill because the mounting hardware is not entirely made for these. In my case I was prepared to drop the brackets all together but was unable to since the mounting depth prevented the windows from rolling down without them. Also the bolts supplied to secure the braket to the door are flat head bolts (Really, come on...) which are a pain to work with. I went to the local hardware and grabbed some hex bolts to use instead. After that I just drilled my own holes into the bracket/door metal and used the supplied speaker screws to tighten them down.

Pros: Great value and sound over factory Descent bass for speaker type

Cons: Not really a speaker con but mounting hardware needed some manipulation to work correctly.

I would have given these speakers 5 stars but I got a bad speaker that I didn't realize was bad until I tried everything else. I was getting no sound through any of my speakers. I called tech support multiple times and they were great but it took me hours of research, rewiring, pulling out my dash and door panels to check connections, etc, etc. Crutchfield sent me a new set and they sound great. I'm a little disappointed in the Rockford Fosgate for the bad speaker though. It kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I pairs these with 6x9's (which worked well) and a JVC KW-R925BTS 22w head unit and they sound great. Nice bass. I also added a 8" bass tube and my 2007 Nissan Frontier XE sounds amazing. Thanks for your help Crutchfield!

Good improvement over factory, install kit only OK

Verified customer (What's this?)

I think it would be hard to beat these speakers for the price per pair. I bought these to replace the factory speakers in my daughter's 2006 Rav4 (no JBL audio). She and I installed two pairs, one pair in the front doors and one pair in the rear doors. These speakers have more bass than the door frames can handle, so we had to turn down the bass with the factory stereo's tone control. Treble is much smoother, even though we didn't disconnect the factory tweeters in the front doors (part of the same wiring harness as the 6-3/4" speakers and we didn't want to cut any wires this afternoon). We did have trouble with the Metra install kit supplied with the speakers. The fasteners supplied by Metra stink. The "nuts" are stamped out of sheet metal with only one thread. The screws are much longer than necessary as well: 1-1/4" when 3/4" were necessary. We replaced these with #8-32 x 3/4" screws and #8-32 Nylok nuts. The adapter frames required more modification than I'd expected. The 6-3/4" RF speakers wouldn't fit inside the adapters until the tabs around the inside diameter (for installing smaller speakers, I'm sure) were cut off. Next, none of the screw holes matched any of the bolt holes in the speaker flanges, so we drilled our own holes in the speaker flanges and adapter frames. Further, the holes in the frames didn't match the factory holes in the front doors, so we drilled our own holes there, too. Once that was done, the doors reassembled quickly.

Pros: Good sounding speakers, especially for the price.

Cons: Metra install kit needs help: fasteners stink (for any installation) and adapters needed mods for our install ('06 Rav4).

Speakers sound great. I am very pleased with these. Very clear, shake mirrors a little. They're claimed 6 3/4 but seem more like 6 5/8 so they don't fit the 6 1/2 mounting plate very well. I had to drill new holes to mount. The drilled holes aren't as reinforced as the correct holes.

speakers sound fine in my 6 speaker system with amps they seem to need the extra power to get the sound right . Maine issue is they do nopt fit in a 1995 camaro front door as it says they will . the fact is you must drill the factory speaker holder in 3 places and do some grinding of the plastic holder to get the speaker to fit it for anyone thinking about using them on a 1995 camaro the doors take a 5 1/2 or 5 1/4 with adaptor or a 6" to 6 1/2 maximum the 6 1/2 will take some effort but only a tiny bit

Pros: sound ok

Cons: need some extra power to get sound right do not fit in car front door like they say

Impressive speakers. Good mid range clear highs. I am running them in the rear doors of a 2006 nissan frontier king cab. Pushing them with 125 watt per channel amp. I run an infinity powered sub and separates up front. I have set the HPF to send mid and high frequency to these speakers and the LPF to send low freq to sub. This setup allows me to reduce blindness and draw the mids. Over all these speakers expands the soundstage give better headroom. If I were to do it over again I would spend a little more and put separates in the back as well.

Pros: Good mids decent highs Inexpensive Good quality

These speakers did not provide the audio experience I expected. My initial installation was on a stock head unit only running 22 watts RMS with the speakers installed in the rear doors. Output was barely audible even at high volume. I figured there may be a polarity issue, but the problem persisted even after switching wires. Then I figured that maybe the speakers just needed more power. Since I had already ordered an amplifier I decided to wait before casting judgment. Even with 60 watts RMS from an external amplifier, I had to turn the gain on the amplifier quite high just to get a moderate volume from the speakers. My call to tech support left both the technician and I baffled at the problem. The sound output, even with the gain turned up rather high, had almost no bass. At least the higher tones were clear. I'm disappointed with these speakers and plan to return them soon.

Pros: Nice appearance. Reasonable price.

Cons: Perplexing difficulty obtaining sound output. Lack of bass even with external amplifier (60 watts RMS).

Installation was easy as pie. Had my Crutchfield panel tools and nothing could have been easier. The sound was fantastic even with a sub-par aftermarket head unit. I ordered these speakers for my 1998 K2500 ext cab. They are in the front doors and paired with a Pioneer DEH4600BT head unit. The installation on the drivers door took about 20 to 45 minutes. There is no speaker bracket to simply slide and replace factory speaker and I had to drill new mounting holes. The passenger door took about 20 minutes start to finish. Part of the issue was the mounting instructions showed that a mounting adapter was in the box and needed to be mounted first. A quick review of the speakers on Crutchfield site answered the question. The speakers produce nice clear sound and on the proper eq settings I can turn the volume almost as loud as it will go without distortion. They are great improvement over the factory 5 1/4 speakers. If you are looking for speakers that produce low bass tones then buy a subwoofer. If a quality decent priced replacement speaker is what your after, then these will work. I listen to hard rock and metal and these speakers work well for that. I think in the near future I will remove the speakers and place dynomat around the speaker mounting just to improve the sound quality. Overall I am pleased with the speaker.

Pros: Crisp clear high and mid range sound.

Cons: Nothing.

Nicely made and sound great

Pros: Appear to be very well made and durable

Cons: Instructions said "+" terminal marked but even with magnifying glass I could not find it on either speaker. Was trying to verify polarity, but probably not necessary given adapter plug connects to speaker only one way. Only other con is directions do not address anywhere how to deal with lip in door opening from stamping process. Screw retainers don't work due to raised lip, so cutting or filing lip is necessary. Would have been helpful to know that in advance.

These speakers were an excellent replacement to whatever aftermarket garbage was in my 1998 Saturn rear deck. They sound good for the price. Very pleased. The only problem with the speakers, is that, THEY DID NOT FIT. The screw holes are a larger diameter than what is located in the rear deck itself.
