About the Sound Ordnance™ P-52CB

Battle strong

The Sound Ordnance line has proven to be a Crutchfield customer favorite and reliable choice in the battle for great sound. With the Sound Ordnance P-52CB component system in your car, you're armed and ready for serious knob-cranking when the mood strikes you. The 5-1/4" polypropylene woofers make powerful replacements for low-functioning factory speakers, giving your music plenty of punch for the long haul. Mount the separate silk dome tweeters in ideal spots to lift you out of the fray with smooth, natural-sounding highs.

Sound Ordnance includes external crossovers systems to direct the right frequencies to the right speakers for a more accurate sound blitz. Bundle all of that with rugged design touches and a solid steel speaker basket, and everyone will know that you don't mess around when it comes to car audio.

Rock with confidence

As always, Sound Ordnance's impressive 3-year warranty gives you plenty of time to get comfortable with this kind of firepower in your vehicle.

Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

Q
Where to mount crossover in my 98 trans am?

A
I mounted my crossovers one on each side of my sub woofer box. Works well for me in my 1998 s10

I have a 2015 Dodge Ram. I know it's not the same at all but when I removed the door panel to mount the speakers I found a place behind the panels to mount the crossovers. I had to do some small modification to the inner panel but overall it was a simple install.

Q
Is it necessary to use bass blockers to protect component speakers or does the integral crossover do that already?
[ Timothy  Jan 05, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Bass blockers can still be used with component speakers. The crossover that is included with them does not block those deepest of bass notes from the woofer. This means that bass blockers can help improve the sound you get from component speakers too. HTH! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

Q
I'm buying a auto speaker system it has 2 woofers ,2 tweeters, and 2 external crossovers. What are external crossovers?
[ Daniel  Oct 04, 2017 ]

A
They are a Cigarette pack sized box that wires between your radio/amp and the tweeters and woofers. They control which signals or sounds go to which speaker. Bass to woofer and highs to tweeters. You will need to Carefully! Locate them near the speakers say in a door or desk. I say carefully because they can rattle if not placed correctly.

This allows you to drive two speakers from one channel
[ chesterlk  Oct 04, 2017 ]

This is quite possibly the worst component set I have ever purchased. Bought two sets for my doors and they lasted about 2 months.
[ Jeremy  Oct 04, 2017 ]
Q
What is the depth of the woofer?
[ raguusauce  May 17, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
The woofer's top-mount depth is 1-15/16" (or roughly 2"). I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=159
