About the iDatalink bCH3 ANC Bypass Harness

Buck Pomerantz

Stop noise-cancelling feedback

Your vehicle's active noise cancellation system (ANC) plays havoc with an aftermarket system's output — with bass tones building up and then disappearing, over and over again. Whether you knew about this issue before you got your amp or sub, or found out the hard way, you need to disable the ANC in your vehicle in order to get good sound. iDatalink's bCH3 ANC bypass harness plugs into the factory wiring as a jumper that bypasses the noise cancellation module, allowing your new system to play the way it should.

Q
Can I tap into this to run speaker input into my LC7i?
doug  Oct 27, 2022

A
This would not be my first choice for signal path in the Ram trucks this iDatalink bCH3 supports Doug. The LC7i is one of my all-time favorites, but for those years vehicles we have an easy harness that installs at a separate location than this ANC bypass. This PAC LPHCH41 LocPro has a location for you to add the Audiocontrol and also a location identified for cutting and splicing your full range speaker wires back in post amp, so you don't have to cut any factory wiring. You'll need to use these LGD60 load generators in the second link if you are using the LC7i with 2019 and up Ram truck, these are super useful as they directly connect to the LC7i's speaker inputs. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541LPHCH41/PAC-LPHCH41-LocPro-Advanced-T-Harness.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_161ACLGD60/AudioControl-AC-LGD-60.html

Q
It looks as if this module DOES work with the H/K system, but not the Alpine system. Is this correct? I have a bypass from my 2019 ram with the base system, and upgraded to a 2021 ram with the H/K. Will it work the same?

This unit only works in the Ram Pickups that come without an external amp and the HK system has an external amp. At this time, we do not have an ANC bypass harness for it. That may change in the future and I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to check

Q
I have a 2019 ram 2500 big horn with the base six speaker system. The volume does not get louder after 22 and seems to go in and out. Will this rectify my problem? Also, where would this need to be plugged in if I don't have an amp?

This cable is designed to bypass the noise cancelation if you are adding an amplifier or a subwoofer to your truck.

This plugs in under the drivers seat, it is a bypass for the anc module. But will not fix your issue... the problem is an internal software issue... supposedly Chrysler is working on an update to fix this issue, supposed to be out in the first quarter of 2021.

For reference I have the 8.4inch non Navi head unit in a 2019 5th gen ram with the base six speaker system. I do not believe this will fix that problem. This will only bypass some of the fake engine sounds that's pumped in and it will block the ANC from not allowing you fully utilize aftermarket subwoofers. My volume does get louder after 22 before and after installing this. I had an issue where my speakers would intermittently cut out when played at higher volumes but I suspected that to happen because I had the stock 2 ohm speakers mixed with 4 ohm aftermarket speakers. When I upgraded all 6 speakers to 4ohm speakers that particular issue went away. Finally, you will install this under your driver seat, which is where the ANC module is installed. You will unplug the connections from the ANC module and connect it directly to the iDatalink bCH3 instead. This will bypass the ANC module entirely. I purchased this with the intent to upgrade to an aftermarket amplifier in the future.

While I did not have an issue with the volume topping out at 22, I did have the issue with the volume going in and out. Purchase and installing this item addressed the issue. Note that it is located under the steering column to the left-hand side, not under the driver seat as others have mentioned.

Couple questions to answer this. 1. What engine? 2. Do you see the ANC unit under the drivers seat? If you do, then getting this harness will eliminate that box. Volume issues are 2 fold. 1. ANC and 2. Issues with USB over music. You'll find that listing to your truck, with NO usb devices or phones plugged in will be louder then if they were plugged in. Try listening to music from your phone.. First through USB... Then try Bluetooth (remove all cables) make sure your volume to your phone is at its max! You will notice Bluetooth is louder, and more clear when not using a USB cable. Removing ANC will help this a little bit. Next step, go to fader options.. And move the fader to the front 2-3 clicks. You'll also notice it gets louder and bass hits better! Factory deck can't push all the speakers as well as they should. So, I move the fader towards the front to allow the amp to power those better. Again, you'll notice it goes louder. In the end, all we have are work-arounds for better sound... Sadly no fix, other then adding amps. Again, I did my tricks with the radios settings.. And removed my ANC.. Added a mono block... purchased the subwoofer from Mopar direct for the HK radio system... I added this factory sub, with a kicker amp to fill the bottom end that's missing. Doing this saved me space, and gave me a full balanced sound. If you need more info, let me know.

There is also a update from dealership for the anc.
vincent  Dec 29, 2020
A
Yes it will my speakers would cut out and come back on. This eliminates the noise control that cuts speakers off when loud.

this replaces the box under the drivers seat. This may help you with your fading in and out.

Q
is there a wiring diagram for the iDatalink bCH3? like to tap into the wires here so i don't mess up my factory wiring. Adding a powered sub and need to tap into speaker wires.

As mentioned... not only does this harness have the proper aftermarket color scheme for the wires, but they are in proper place. Tap off the front! White and gray wires! You don't want to tap off the rear. Many reasons.
dave  Dec 29, 2020
A
Yes it does have a list of which color wires go to which speaker. Also has the pin diagram.

After installing an amp and replacing the factory speakers (because the factory speakers are terrible) in my 2020 Ram Lonestar. I have this droning noise now, does this product REALLY bypass that droning noise? Or does it just makes it quieter?

A
Yes sir it actually bypasses the droning, I added a sub and the drone coming through it was horrible. This made it go completely away and I don't notice any difference when using my speakers to talk on the phone. Not to mention it takes longer to move your driver side seat forward than it does to install this. Hope this helps
ricardo  Sep 04, 2020
A
Assuming you have the base six speaker audio system this harness bypasses the ANC (active noise cancellation system). as you have added an amp and upgraded the speakers this has drastically improved the sound level inside your vehicle therefore I'm inclined to believe that bypassing the ANC module will rectify the droning due to the ANC module attempting to cancel out high noise levels now present in your cab from upgrades.

Q
Do I connect this adaptor to the amp under the seat in my 2019 Ram big horn?

A
Under the drivers seat is the active noise control module it's not an amp. Yes this plugs in there. It is very easy to connect and disconnect. It helps with audio sound. It's still not perfect. From my half vast research there is another module for the ANS under the hood somewhere that I haven't figured out where it is and wether or not it can be disconnected. Sure would have been nice if Ram would have put an on off switch on the ANS.
thomas  Aug 12, 2020

Unhook the wires than Connect them together with the link if you need speaker hook up for an amplifier Those are speaker wires
charles  Aug 11, 2020
A
It does not go to the amp You disconnect the wire harness's from the amp and that adapter connects the wires together It is designed to bypass the amp or active noise control This does not cancel out the ANC all the way You still have to disconnect the mics in the headrest
michael  Aug 11, 2020
A
Yes is real easy
alfonso  Aug 11, 2020
A
No. The ANC gets unplugged and the two harnesses that you unplug get connected. You can remove the ANC module entirely if you choose.

Does this product work for a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie Edition?

If you have ANC with HK or Alpine, YES. ANC is a separate unit under the drivers seat.

This works for base 6 speaker stereo If you have Harman Kardan or Alpine it may not work.
scott  Apr 01, 2020

If it has the base 6 speaker system, then yes.
