iDatalink meets Chrysler

iDatalink's HRN-RR-CH1 wiring adapter allows you to connect a new car stereo in select 2007-up Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen vehicles, working in conjunction with iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MRR module. Once connected, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls and your factory amp in these vehicles.

The package includes connectors that plug in between the Maestro module, your factory radio's wiring plugs, and your new car stereo. You'll have to solder or splice together this harness's power/ground, illumination, speaker, and navigation output wires to the corresponding wires on your aftermarket receiver's wiring harness.

Extra functionality with an iDatalink-ready car stereo

With select iDatalink-compatible radios from Alpine, JVC, Kenwood, and Pioneer (see the ADS-MRR module for specific models), you'll also be able to retain the use of your Uconnect system, including voice command.

Got a Rear Seat Entertainment system?

If you want to keep the factory Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system, you can add iDatalink's ADS-HRN(AV)-CHR01 adapter (sold separately) to send audio and video from your new touchscreen receiver to the factory monitor.

Keeping your factory features with an iDatalink-ready car stereo

If you're buying a compatible iDatalink-ready car stereo, you'll enjoy the outstanding performance of your receiver, plus seamless touchscreen control over most of the factory features in select Chrysler-built vehicles. You'll also be able to display engine performance data and other vehicle info on your receiver's screen.

Installation note: The HRN-RR-CH1 adapter must be used with the iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR module to connect a new car stereo to your Chrysler-made vehicle.

Q
I have a 2011 Jeep JKU. The page says it is not compatible with Apple Car play. Does that mean I can't use apple car play at all?
[ Ben  Jul 20, 2020 ]

A
I think this refers to the fact the unit doesn't reroute your factory mic to work with the head unit. I have mine hooked up with a Pioneer head unit in my 16 JK and use CarPlay all the time.
[ Shannon  Jul 20, 2020 ]

The adapter is for allowing your new receiver unit to fit to jeep existing wiring harness for the power and speakers. Not sure how this effects the apple car play feature on the receiver. Car play is run thru a usb port you install that connects directly to your receiver,,,and you use your apple phone charging wire to connect to usb port, and it communicates to receiver directly. I used adaptor harness, installed a usb port in dash that connects to receiver, and I run apple car play. Hope this answer helps.

Q
I have a 2013 Dodge caravan. It has steering wheel controls for volume and to change radio stations. I'm installing a BOSS BV9358B double din touchscreen. I bought a wiring harness from Amazon that said fits my van. I noticed that there is no red power wire coming from that harness. Which harness do I need to get for my setup? Thanks
[ Glenn  Aug 19, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
Hi Glenn, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, Boss radios are not compatible with steering wheel control retention harnesses. We do have the harnesses that will help you install your stereo, but you'll lose your steering wheel controls. The PAC C2R-CHY4 harness will be the harness you need for radio installation, as well as an antenna adapter. You may also need another harness if you have the rear seat entertainment feature in your Caravan. Please chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695. They will be happy to get you fixed up with all the gear you'll need for your install.

Q
I have a 2011 dodge caliber mainstreet, what all do I need to hook up an aftermarket stereo?
[ Johnathan  Mar 01, 2019 ]

A
Much depends on the specific aftermarket stereo model and the factory features/options you have and are wanting to retain. Q
Will this work with the factory hard drive?
[ George H  Jun 16, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Factory hard drives are not a feature retained by the iDatalink Maestro integration module or it's compatible harnesses (like this HRN-RR-CH1).
[ Ryan  Jun 20, 2018 ]  Staff
Q
So I have bought the idatalink wiring harness. I don't need the module in order for my aftermarket radio to retain the factory steering wheel audio controls right? It says it lets you connect an aftermarket radio and retain the factory audio controls.
[ Trevaun  Jul 27, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
My 2010 Ram currently has steering wheel controls and Sirius radio. I see in the iDatalink item description that is retains steering wheel control and satellite radio so I'm wondering if when upgrading to a Pioneer do I need to purchase a Sirius tuner to continue to get satellite radio?
[ jbehler75  Feb 23, 2017 ]

A
Sorry for the delay. Most times the factory unit may not be compatible with an aftermarket radio or may have a proprietary connector to match the factory system. If you have further questions I would recommend contacting an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
[ Kenny  Mar 02, 2017 ]  Staff
A
Hi, Thanks for your question. The receivers are sold as "Satellite Radio Ready" or not equipped. For the compatible receivers you would still need the separate tuner. Most receivers have a mail in rebate with the purchase of the tuner. The cost of the tuner ends up being Zero after the rebate. Hope this helps.

Will this fit a 07 wrangler x 2dr without factory sub or steering wheel controls?
[ Kevp721  Dec 24, 2015 ]

I think it's purpose is to allow you to use the steering wheel controls. I installed mine over a year ago. Works pretty good. Not totally sure though.
