iDatalink's HRN-RR-TO2 wiring adapter works in conjunction with iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MRR or ADS-MRR2 module, allowing you to connect a new car stereo in select 2012-up Toyota-made vehicles, Once connected, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls and your factory amp in these vehicles.

The package includes connectors that plug in between the Maestro module and your factory radio's wiring plugs. You'll have to solder or splice together this harness's power/ground, illumination, speaker, and navigation output wires to the corresponding wires on your aftermarket receiver's wiring harness.

Toyota Harness: The iDatalink Maestro HRN-RR-TO2 installation harness greatly simplifies the installation of the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module (sold separately) in select Toyota vehicles when replacing your factory radio with an iDatalink Serial Port compatible head unit from Kenwood, JVC, Alpine, Sony, and Pioneer; or other aftermarket head unit.

Notes: The iDatalink Maestro HRN-RR-TO 2installation harness requires the purchase of the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 (sold separately).

Flashing Module via Weblink Desktop: The iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 will need to be loaded with correct firmware before installation. The included USB cable plugs into your computer and allows you to "flash" the Maestro RR with the appropriate firmware to prepare it for installation. Simply download Weblink Desktop (for Windows and Mac) onto your computer to access the appropriate firmware. System requirements include -

  • Windows PC (10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP/2000) or Mac OS X (Mojave [10.14], HighSierra [10.13], Sierra [10.12], El-Capitan [10.11])
  • Available USB port (version 2.0 or 3.0)
  • 4GB RAM or more
  • 200MB available space on HDD
  • Internet connection

Retained Features: The following factory features (if applicable) are retained when replacing your factory radio with a compatible iDatalink Serial Port head unit from Kenwood, JVC, Alpine, or Pioneer using the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module and HRN-RR-TO2 installation harness.

Connections: The iDatalink Maestro HRN-RR-TO2 installation harness contains four Molex connectors which plug into your factory radio harness. On the other end of the harness are three multi-pin connectors which plug into the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module. In addition, you will need to hardwire the power/ground, illumination, speaker, and navigation output leads of the HRN-RR-TO2 harness to your aftermarket head unit's wiring harness. There is also a composite video RCA connector which plugs into your aftermarket head unit's backup camera input. And, composite video/stereo RCA connectors that plus into your aftermarket receiver AV input. In addition, stereo RCA connectors connect to your aftermarket head unit's front-channel pre-outs.

Note: When using the HRN-RR-TO2 installation harness, you will not use the additional harnesses that are included with the Maestro RR or RR2 Car Radio Replacement Interface module.

Yes it will. I currently have a Kenwood head unit and use the maestro module along with the factory integration kit. I have a 2019 Toyota Highlander platinum limited with the JBL system originally. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully, and everything should work just fine.

I used this item on a 2014 RAV4 with an aftermarket Panasonic deck and it provided the feed from the rear camera with no problem. While I can't speak specifically to your vehicle, I would think the interface with the camera would being the same is pretty likely.

No, it does not. The OEM mic is a powered unit and the interface does not provide power for the mic. You need to install and use the mic that comes with your new HU.

Can this kit be used for installing a 5-channel amp on a 2017 corolla? It looks like the plugs can be plugged into the factory radio and the kit RCA plugs (4 channels) can be connected to the AMP inputs. The 4-channel outputs from the amp can then be connected to the kit and the original factory plugs for speakers (disconnected from the factory radio) can be plugged into the socket connectors in the kit. If the above is correct, I can used it for my amp to power the factory speakers and the added subwoofer. Please advise, thanks.

That wiring harness is for the Maestro Rr It's not going to help you connect a 5 channel amp to a factory head unit. I have videos on YouTube on how to add amps to a 2014 Corolla. Just search my name Chris .

No. This kit is for installing the iDatalink MaestroRR vehicle interface module between the vehicle and an aftermarket HU. 4 of the RCA connectors that you see are cut off during installation into the Corolla. There are parallel wires that connect to the new HU's speaker outputs. The harness output connects to the vehicle harness. The other 2 RCA connectors are for the backup camera and aux video input.

Unfortunately the answer is probably no if you are trying to keep your factory radio. The plugs that connect to the car are all female and accept the wires from the car that plug into the radio. It doesn't come with the male ends that plug back into the factory radio. The "output" ends are just wire that would normally be soldered to the harness that would come with an after market head unit. So in the end, this is not the harness you are looking for if you are looking to keep your factory head unit. This may also need the Maestro RR to work properly. Maybe look into finding a male and female plug (2 different plugs) that you can splice together and have the audio lines coming out of that? I would check with a corolla forum for what others have done for this type of project if Crutchfield can't answer this specific project. I don't know your specifc model so it's hard to search for the plugs to see if they even exist but it looks like others have done this to create a homemade plug and play harness. Good Luck!

Does this retain Birdseye view camera functionality on a 2017 RAV4 Limited? If so, will it act the same?(camera shows up when you slow down, or put it in reverse etc)

If you kept the factory camera, it will have the same view. It should also work when you are in reverse gear. If you have replaced the factory Info-tainment unit with a Pioneer model, you can manually select to display the camera view all the time and it does offer a timer to flash between the camera and the current mode the Info-tainment center is in. It will not automatically turn the camera on when slowing down.

I have no idea, but I can tell you that I very much regret purchasing the Kenwood head unit this came with. I am now on my second Kenwood and will never purchase another of their products. They are buggy, crash a lot, and their companion apps all have a ton of one star reviews for a reason.

I didn't have a factory camera but I did add my own. I do know that the instructions that came with this adapter included a way to re-use the factory camera at least for my car (2012 Camry).
