Features

Overview: The ADS transmitter kit provides 1-way communication for activating you iDatastart HCX remote start module (sold separately). This 5-button remote system uses FM technology for up to 3000 feet of transmitting/receiving range.

Functions: The RF1151A remote features 4 main buttons along the front panel, which are pre-programmed for Lock/Arm, Unlock/Disarm, Trunk/Hatch Release, engine Start/Stop, and a 5th Function button (F) on the side of the remote that's used for multi-button functions. A blue LED at the top of the remote lights when any button is pressed to indicate a command was sent to the remote start module. The remotes can be programmed for up to 30 functions, all accessed using combinations of the 5 buttons. Additional features include; Valet Mode, Panic, Silent Lock/Unlock, Passive Lock&Arm, Ignition Lock, Extended Runtime, Turbo Mode (allows engine to cool down before shutting engine off), and more.

Antenna: Included with the RF1151A remote controls is a 3-1/4" long-range antenna for achieving a maximum transmit/receive range of up to 3000 feet. The antenna features an adhesive backing, for mounting it high up on a dash or console, and a 98" cord that plugs directly into the iDatastart module. Two LEDs and a small push-button on the antenna are used to program additional or replacement remote controls. Up to 4 remotes can be programmed to the iDatastart module.

Owner's Card: Operating instructions for the RF1151A remotes can be accessed via the included Owner's Card. This features a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone or tablet and will pull up the online instruction manual.

Q
I installed one of these remote starters in my vehicle and it works great. If I want to add range by incorporating one of these remotes, do I need to uninstall and reprogram my iDataStart module?

No. If I remember correctly, it's a rather simple process. You need to plug the remote receiver into the i datastart module and then run the wire behind the pillar and place the receiver on the top part of the windshield by the roof. Once that is done, you just need to follow the "take over procedure"for the two remotes, and you're done. Maybe, a 30 min procedure

Yes, if I'm remembering correctly. Had mine strapped in there pretty good the first time too. It's just adding the remote serial numbers and you're good to go more or less. You'll obviously have to send that cable to the module anyway, so should be pretty painless. They work great by the way, made installing the remote start "worth it" sort of speak.

How do you program this?

Hi Bruce, thank you for your question! The iDataStart RF Kit key fobs are designed to be used with the iDataStart Digital remote start system. If you have the iDataStart system, and you purchased that from us, our tech support team will be happy to help you with programming your fobs. If you did not purchase your iDataStart system from us, please contact the manufacturer, or the vendor you purchased your gear from, they should be able to help. If you are just looking into getting your vehicle equipped with a remote start system, chat with an Advisor online, or give them a call at 1-800-324-9695. They will be able to pull up the info on your vehicle, and see what type of remote start systems will be compatible.

I don't know if it matters what series you have, HA, HC, etc but if I remember correctly, once you remote start the car with the factory key fob, unlock the car, insert the key and turn to the on position. Press the brake pedal. This is called the remote takeover procedure. Turn off your car, remove the key, exit the vehicle and close the door. Lock the car with the new remote. If you have two remotes you may need to redo this process one more time for the next remote. I hope this helps. Dave
