Product Research

Features

USB/Aux Adapter: The iDatalink ACC-USB-HK1 is a USB/Aux adapter for select 2010-2019 Hyundai & Kia vehicles. The ACC-USB-HK1 replaces the factory Media Hub circuit board in the center console of your compatible Hyundai or Kia vehicle, so that you can retain your vehicle's factory USB port and Aux input when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit that features a rear-panel USB port and rear-panel Aux input.

  • The ACC-USB-HK1 can be used with or without the Maestro RR/RR2 radio replacement interface module and vehicle specific harness (both sold separately). See Installation Guide for further instructions.
  • This USB/Aux adapter will work with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, except if your vehicle has multiple USB ports or if your new aftermarket radio doesn't have a high-amperage charging port (1.5A or greater).

Q
Will this connect the power wires and speakers also??
robert  Apr 04, 2023

A
Thank you for your question, Bob. This harness is used to retain the factory USB and AUX connections only. I recommend giving one of our Advisors a call at 1.800.324.9695 or by online chat, they will be able to help find the right harness interface adapter for your vehicle.

Q
Will this connect the power wires and speakers also??

A
This iDatalink uHK1 USB Adapter will not, Bob. This is strictly for retaining the USB port and auxiliary input on select 2010-19 Hyundai and Kia vehicles to a new car stereo. This is used in addition to other interfaces and harnesses needed for those power and speaker connections. Use our Vehicle Guide in the handy link below to see all the install gear paired with a radio for your specific vehicle. Make sure to enter the year, make, model, and specific trim exactly and we will list all the gear you need for radio install! If you need any help choosing a radio or a package, give us a call at 1-800-324-9695 and a live Advisor can help 7-days a week!

We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.

Q
I read a review that stated that this does not work with Android auto or Apple carplay, if true, doesn't this defeat the purpose of buying it?

A
It does work, I do get random disconnects from Android auto. But from reading this seems to be more of a problem with Android Auto. I would recommend replacing the USB cable that goes from this to back of the head unit to try and mitigate some of the disconnects.

Q
Im interested on buying the iDatalink uHK1 Adapter for Hyundai to retain the factory usb/aux, but why do I have to connect it to the vehicle original harness? if this one got disabled when I upgraded my stereo
miguel  Sep 03, 2021

A
But when Hyundai factory stereos are upgraded to an aftermarket stereo the car doesn't send any power through the factory harness. So how can it be mandatory if no power is running through the harness. The reason for it is that the factory stereo sends the signal for the harness to work and have power, but removing the factory radio disables it. Is there any technical reason to have it connected?
miguel  Sep 04, 2021
A
It needs to be connected to the factory harness for power. If you don't connect it to the factory harness, the ports will not work.

Q
If I'm not using the T-Harness do I still need to plug the HK1 to the vehicle harness? If so, how am I supposed to connect it if I'm using a Crux interface? I have a Kia Rio 2014 for clarification.

I had bad luck getting mine to work correctly on the Kia Soul. I was only able to get the data transfer to work, but no charging.

Q
I just bought a used 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, i am installing the pioneer AVH 4500NEX and am curious if this adapter for the factory usb will allow me to use Apple Car Play in the car or do I need a different USB extentsion?

My application for this harness is a 2015Kia Soul+. This particular harness did not work for my application due to incompatibility. Your Santa Fe may be different and compatible. Good luck and have fun with your install.

The adapter works by replacing the circuit board in your factor USB/Aux media input with this one. This one then plugs into your head unit via USB, effectively just extending the USB from the head unit into the factory AUX. The 4500 should come with a pretty heft USB cable that you can run from the head unit to this adapter iirc
