Video: Kenwood iDatalink "Maestro"

Ford owners can upgrade to a new Kenwood navigation receiver and still keep their factory-installed SYNC® system, thanks to this Maestro adapter from iDatalink. The Maestro integrates the Kenwood stereo into the SYNC system, so you continue to use voice commands, factory Bluetooth® connectivity, steering wheel controls, and more. Find out more in this video, and contact one of our Advisors for more info.

I have a 2012 Ford Explorer with the Sony MyTouch Sync2 system. I want to replace the radio and was told to look at Maestro Compatible radios. The iDatalink (maestro) and Crutchfield sites only show me radios without cd players (specifically, that I need a shallow mount radio). The current cd player is mounted below the 8" OME screen as a separate unit. If I install a new radio, does the original cd player remain in the car? Will a maestro compatible radio operate the original cd player? I can't find this addressed anyplace.

Stan, it depends on the year of your F-150 and the stereo you choose, but yes, the Maestro has that capability. Give us a call with your vehicle's full information, and an advisor can help you with more details. Or you can use our vehicle selector.
