Hard-hitting Comp sub

The 12" Comp sub features a stiff injection-moulded polypropylene cone supported by a double-stitched ribbed foam surround for deep excursion. Kicker's back-braced cone design keeps the woofer stable during those hard hits, while the perimeter venting system helps cool the sub's internal parts during demanding performances. A strong steel basket provides a stable foundation that won't flex during hard use.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy 3/4" medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the enclosure's 4-ohm impedance allows compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43VC124 enclosure uses one 12" Comp series subwoofer.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Comp speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Customer Q&A

Q
What is the sensitivity of this subwoofer and box? The overview shows 95db and the details show 90 db.

A
That's a great question, Joseph. We show Kicker has this listed at 90db, so we can most likely trust that measurement. We will correct that info on the web details to reflect that. 90db I'd consider extremely high for a subwoofer, that helps the Kicker subs perform so well. Keep in mind also that due to the complex nature of Kicker Comp speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Does this require an amp?

Yes and if you dont have an aftermarket reciever you will need a sound processor as well to ensure quality bass.

Unless you have an stock amp powerful enough to run this, yes. I don't know if any car would have an amp powerful enough to run this. I would highly suggest you get an amp to run this
