Q
I wanted to reinstall original radio... Will this work with the original oem navigation radio ?

A
I don't see why it wouldn't. As long as the oem unit fits the double din opening of the dash kit. Other than that all the other pieces, should be just fine.

Dunno.Sold my original radio. Probably safer to try a salvage yard if anything.
calvin  Nov 02, 2020
A
The kit matched and fit perfectly to my 2010 civic however I didn't have an existing navigation oem radio so I'm uncertain of the sizing there. If it helps, the dash kit fit all the snap and screw locations and install was easy too. Good luck.

Hi. Do you have the right hand version of the dash kit? And is it possible to choose "right hand side" version when I choose the car model?

Does this make the radio face upward so it is hard to see in the sunlight?

The head unit I installed has an angle adjustment on power-up, but when the unit is off, it sits flush with the dash
michael  Nov 20, 2019
A
It does match the angle of the dashboard of my Civic, but how much really depends on the head unit you are installing. I put a Sony XAV-1000 in my 2008 Civic (recently sold) and that gave me a little bit of ability to angle the unit down and toward the driver's seat so glare was there occasionally, but not a deal breaker. It really looked OEM, so I appreciated that, and I hid the microphone behind the little vented panel on the lower left. I was happy with this!
larry  Nov 20, 2019
A
No it does not. It gives the radio a perfect angle making it easy to view during the day and not shine in your eyes at night.
brock  Nov 20, 2019
A
No but I purchased it for a Kenwood Exelon double din which was super dim, I would recommend reading the reviews on the radio to make sure the brightness is not an issues like my daughters is. It did fit well like a stick piece
steve  Nov 20, 2019
A
I guess it depends on what aftermarket radio you purchase to install in the dash kit. I purchased an Pioneer touch screen that had an adjustable tilt display.
lewis  Nov 20, 2019
A
Not for me on my honda. I kind of worried about that at first to but its fine.

It fits great in a 2008 Civic LX. If you have the same dashboard setup in an '09 then you're good to go.
josh  Jan 19, 2019
A
It works on the 2007 and the 2010, so I would assume the 2009 is a good fit.
