About the AudioQuest SUB-1

AudioQuest's SUB-1 cable delivers a clean, clear bass signal to your high-performance powered subwoofer. This triple-balanced cable features three identical silver-plated copper conductors to ensure optimum performance. Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can make multi-strand conductor cables sound brittle.

Air tube insulation and shielding
Each conductor has its own insulating air tube, which prevents information smearing better than foam insulation. An additional layer of shielding virtually eliminates electronic noise, for the cleanest signal possible.

High-quality connectors eliminate the weakest link
This XLR version of SUB-1 features male XLR connectors at both ends of the cable, for use with compatible components and subwoofers. The connectors are fastened by cold welding — a process that uses high pressure and silver paste to minimize signal loss. By contrast, solder tends to impede the signal, and heating the copper conductor can negatively affect its performance.

Product Research

Features

Sub-1 Series Subwoofer Cable (with XLR): The AudioQuest CinemaQuest SUB-1 subwoofer cable uses three solid 2.5% Silver conductors inside PE Air Tubes. The solid conductors eliminate any strand-interaction distortion. The PE Air Tubes minimize information smearing caused by any solid or foam insulation. The subwoofer cable uses XLR connectors that are silver-plated and cold-welded to the cable's three conductors to insure optimum performance. The subwoofer cable's 100% coverage shield insures noise-free performance.

Silver-Plated Copper (SPC): Silver-Plated Copper (SPC)  provides superior performance for subwoofer audio frequencies. SPC enhances the articulation and intelligibility of low frequency information from your amplifier to your subwoofer.

Note: Do not use the Sub-1 subwoofer cable as a full range audio cable.

Ground Connections: If you hear noticeable hum in your system after connecting your subwoofer, please attach the Sub-1 cable's ground leads to your audio gear. Some audio equipment have a ground (GND) connection on the back-panel, if not, attach the ground spade lugs to any screw on the equipment chassis of both the source and the subwoofer.
