Coty M's 1996 Jeep Cherokee

Exterior of the Cherokee

Items installed:

Installation Description

This is my first install, as this is my first car. The whole installation was done at home, with the help of a few people. The only problem I had was getting the headunit to align straight, but after many times of re-aligning it is perfect. I have a Sirius Satellite Radio on the way, so hopefully eveything goes smooth with that.

Q&A Section

Why did you decide to upgrade your A/V system?

I don't like stock anything, especially systems.

What's the first thing you show people about your installation?

Subwoofers

Subwoofer box

Why did you choose these products?

They were the best quality available.

Amplifiers mounted on subwoofer box

What was the most difficult part of the installation?

Getting the headunit straight, and running the power wire through the firewall.

What plans, if any, do you have for future upgrades?

Two more subs and a Hifonics amp.

It still doesn't tell me the size of the speaker for the overhead sound bar 1996 Jeep Cherokee. I plan on replacing headliner, and since speakers would be exposed, I might as well replace those two speakers.

Luke, we don't recommend it, but you might be able to get away with it. You might run into trouble finding a 6"x9" with a shallow enough basket to fit the top-mount depth. Just be sure that the top-mount depth for the speakers you choose doesn't exceed 3.5" for that front door location.

Is it possible to safely cut the front door speaker on a 1996 cherokee like the one in this article into a 6x9 size without jnterferring with the window operations?

Mr. Rambo, we have a large selection of receivers that are equipped with both navigation and DVD playback. Here's a full list. You can also use our vehicle selector to confirm which stereos will fit your car.
