About the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT124

Bob Bihlmayer

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43TCWRT124 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 12" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, creating lots more bass without producing any port noise.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 12" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-moulded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs (3/4" width), or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43TCWRT124 enclosure uses one 12" CompRT series subwoofer and one 12" passive radiator.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 27-3/8"

  • Depth (base): 6-7/8" (7-5/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 3-1/2" (4-1/4" including the subwoofer)

how much does the cone travel? I have the 10" version and plan on getting the 12 from someone, But the 10 just barely fits under my seat while playing.

We didn't research that when gathering information on this subwoofer box and recommend contacting Kicker's support using 405-624-8583 to see if they have it.

About 2 1/2" I had to shim my 2010f150 seat up so it wouldn't touch

Q
Is this sub box dual 4 ohm?
rodney  Jul 14, 2019
1 answer
A
This most likely is a single 4 ohm. If the model number has a 122 on the end then it is a dual 4 ohm wired to 2 ohm.

Q
would the 4 ohm or 2 ohm version subwoofer work best with the alpine MRV-M500 amp? that amp is 500 RMS x 1 by 2 ohms or 300 RMS x 1 at 4ohms? Thanks
ethan  Nov 28, 2016
2 answers
A
Definitely depends on the woofer and what it can handle if it is rated for 300 rms then buy a woofer at that minimum 300rms and be able to wire for 4 ohms. Or if it can handle 500rms and more get a woofer that is wired to a 2 ohm version of the subwoofer. Try to stay at or below the rms rating of the woofer rating. Or the suspension can't handle it. For example a woofer is rated 600rms and can be wired to 2 ohm that would be perfect for the alpine amp, because you are below the rating of the woofer rms.
ricardo  Jul 15, 2019
A
It puts out more power at 2 ohms so get a sub that is 2 ohms, that's what I did.

Q
Scratch & dent: what is the condition on this unit or details why it's listed scratch & dent?
daniel  Aug 13, 2016
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. These open-box items have minor cosmetic damage, nothing that would affect the function of the product. They may be missing non-essential accessories. In some cases the manufacturer's accessories have been replaced with generic equivalents. The manufacturer's warranty applies as well as Crutchfield's 60 day satisfaction guarantee. Hope that helps.
