This part is poorly engineered and "chinsy" ... It holds my radio in the dash fine I suppose, but the 2 piece trim ring design looks crappy and isnt machined well so its loose and wiggles. Not Crutchfield's error its Metra's.
Pros: Holds stereo in the dash
Cons: Looks cheap, i'd imagine the inner trim ring vibrates with bass if you have subs

This thing was a pain, at least as far as using it with the 2DIN head unit we bought... it would NOT let the head unit slide all the way through due to the head units plastic face trim being microscopically too wide on the sides, plus the screws were too short with this

Did the trick and everything lined up as it should. However, I had to open up the holes a little with box cutter to get the screws to go back into the head unit to secure it to the side brackets. After I did that - it fit great.

I was getting sick of relying on a crappy FM Transmitter in order to listen to the music on my iPhone. There were cheaper modifications I could have done without installing a new head unit but I liked the idea of finally having Bluetooth functionality in my vehicle so I was leaning to upgrading the head unit. I have owned the vehicle for 5 years before doing a head unit upgrade and I was hesitant because I never was a fan the way after market installs looked. But after the lights on my factory radio started to burn out and buttons starting to crack, I decided to just go with it. I am no regretting not doing this upgrade sooner. This is a really simple kit but I have to say, I am quite impressed with the way it looks. Properly installed, there are no gaps and the finish matches that of my trim. All who enter my car agree that it looks clean and professional. Upgrade that weak factory head unit, you will not regret it!
Pros: Installation to the head unit is a breeze. And, as always, Crutchfield is a phone call away.
Cons: Check your faceplate that attaches to the frame of the kit, mine had a bit of a scrape on the bottom and I don't recall ever mistreating it. But I installed that on the bottom so it is not visible even if you are looking for it.

the shipping time is amazing on this product yet when i was doing the install on my car i found that it was a little too small for my aftermarket stereo so when it was all wired up and in the dash the clips for the computer section did not line up... this is the Pontiac Grand Prix Gt with the monsoon stereo system. Over all it did its purpose with only one major struggle.

The instructions are terrible with this kit. Everything is not used for specific models, but you wont know that until you figure it out for yourself. However, once figured out what pieces you need to use and how they fit on your particular radio, everything goes together easy.
