About the Alpine MRV-F300
Compact powerhouse
Compact powerhouse
Alpine was thinking about versatility when they built their V-Power Series MRV-F300 4-channel amplifier.
- In 4-channel mode, it delivers 50 watts RMS to each of your car's front and rear speakers, making for some sweet sound on your drive.
- You can also run this amp in 3-channel mode, powering a subwoofer with 150 watts RMS while driving a pair of full-range speakers with 50 watts each.
- Or, if you need a good amp for bass, you can switch the amp to 2-channel mode and send up to 150 watts RMS each to a pair of subwoofers.
You can always find a place for this amp in your system, and Alpine made this amp so small — 40% smaller than the previous model — it can fit almost anywhere.
Thermal protection without annoying shut-downs
The MRV-F300 uses a technology called Enhanced Shutdown Performance, which rolls back the output a bit when the amp threatens to overheat from playing at its limits too long. Instead of shutting down completely, it continues playing your music, until it cools enough to return to full power.
Convenient features
High- and low-pass filters put you in command of the frequencies that reach your speakers, while a bass boost lets you apply some extra low-end punch. The amp includes preamp- and speaker-level inputs, so you can install it in almost any vehicle, even one with a factory radio. If you're using the speaker-level inputs, the amp senses an incoming signal and turns itself on, eliminating the need to run a turn-on wire back to your vehicle's receiver or fusebox. If you're a tweaker, you'll appreciate the end-piece terminal covers that can be snapped in and out without the need for any tools.

Features
CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N) over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. Using CEA-2006 criteria, the Alpine MRV-F300 is rated as follows:
- Power Output:
- 4Ω: 50 watts x 4-channels (<0.08% THD+N)
- 2Ω: 75 watts x 4-channels (<0.1% THD+N)
- Signal to Noise Ratio: 81 dBA (98 dB at rated power)
Bridgeable: Both the front and rear sections of the MRV-F300 are bridgeable, so it can be used as a 4-channel, 3-channel, or 2-channel amp.
Note: When bridging the amp, Y-adapters should be used to feed identical signals the channels to be bridged together.
Speaker Level Input: A speaker level input harness is included, making it easier to add the amplifier to a factory radio or to a receiver with no preamp outputs. The 8-pin harness has inputs for front and rear speakers.
Auto Turn-on: If using the speaker level input, an automatic circuit turns the amplifier on when it senses an input signal.
Controls: The front and rear sections of the amplifier (labeled Channel 1/2 and Channel 3/4) have independent gain and crossover controls. Channel 3/4 also adds a Bass EQ switch:
- Channel 1/2:
- Gain: rotary dial; continuously variable from 200mV-4V using the preamp inputs or 500mV-10V using the speaker level inputs
- Crossover Mode: three position switch; Off (full range), High Pass, or Low Pass
- Crossover Frequency: rotary dial; variable from 50 Hz to 400 Hz
- Channel 3/4:
- Gain: rotary dial; continuously variable from 200mV-4V using the preamp inputs or 500mV-10V using the speaker level inputs
- Crossover Mode: three position switch; Off (full range), High Pass, or Low Pass
- Crossover Frequency: rotary dial; variable from 50 Hz to 400 Hz
- Bass EQ: two position switch; On/Off; adds +12dB boost centered at 50 Hz
Connections:
- Battery: set screw terminal; accepts up to 8 gauge wire
- Remote: set screw terminal; accepts up to 8 gauge wire
- GND (ground): set screw terminal; accepts up to 8 gauge wire
- Speaker Outputs: four pair of set screw terminals; accept up to 10 gauge wire
- Line Inputs: 2 pair of stereo RCA jacks
- Speaker Level Input: Molex plug input for supplied 8-pin harness
Note: Alpine recommends 8 gauge power and ground wire (minimum).

This is an excellent Amp, fits under my seat. The sound is clean and powerful. Much Much better than my previous amp. Well worth the price. Have had it in my car for a year. Have the amp set at about 40%. The it is clean at any volume. I would highly recommend it!!
