  • Solid 5% silver conductors eliminate inter-strand distortion.
  • Hard-cell foam insulation maximizes geometry stability.
  • Carbon-based noise-dissipation system minimizes RF interference.

Q
Will this work with the new Apple iPad Pro with its USB-C?

I was unable to get a response from my 8 year old iMac. I was informed I just needed to go into settings and adjust things. Sadly I'm strictly plug and play. Good luck!

No, it won't work. This particular model has a micro USB, which is mainly to be found on Android. Audioquest does a similar cable with USB-C which should work for you.

Th USB-C type works with my samsung galaxy 8. The usb micro end worked with my samsung note 4. So i think your 7 requires the usb-c type.

I'm sure it will work, but I purchased mine for use with an Asus Zenfone Lazer without an audio chip that was built in...It is an awesome addition to the phone for my music library..Hope this helps..

Q
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Android phone. Can I use this cable to connect to the Dragonfly Red?

The DragonTail is for my brothers Samsung galaxy 2 phone. From what i see, Samsung uses a Micro USB type of connector so you just need a Micro USB to USB A adaptor, the DragonTail. Also, the DragonTail USB adaptor activates USB Host Mode on most Android devices, allowing the devices to transmit USB digital audio to an outboard digital-to-analog converter (from AQ page). Samsung calls it a On-The-Go cable. Hope this helps. Doug

You can, but I returned mine because the volume was just too low to be usable. My searches of the Internet revealed this was a common problem with Android phones and tablets. I returned my Dragonfly because of this.

Yes but you will likely need to buy additional software/app for 7.99 to make it work, otherwise the output is barely audible. Even then, the quality and clarity of sound is only marginally better over the phone's own headphone output (I have a Samsung galaxy S5) so I'd say probably not worth the extra spend especially considering it's then just more gear to carry around for little benefit. Love using the red dragon with my laptop, though! Beats the Bang & Olufsen that came with it. Have fun shopping! MK

Works perfectly to listen to files ON the phone (I recommend the Onkyo HF player) It will NOT work for apps though. Like Spotify. Yeah...that frustrates me too. But for listening to music files on your phone it works very nicely.

Yes, you will need an On The Go male micro usb to female usb with the Red to connect it to an S6. Same with the S3, S4, S5 and S7. You might be plug and play with the adapter and Red DAC, but I strongly recommend getting the USB Player Pro App in the Play Store. It's $7.99, and it allows you to access, in the menu, the Red's headphone amp and turn it up. Without this, the Red sounds quiet, even at max Volume. The App really let's you hear what the Red can sound like, which is amazing! Also, you might get different performance with which phone you use. My Galaxy S7 sounds quite a bit better than my Galaxy S5, everything being the same. Makes me wonder what the S8 will sound like. Cheers!

Yes - I use the Black with my S7 Edge using this device. You can see the micro usb at the top, which will plug into your phone directly, allowing the Dragonfly to plug into the HDMI at the other.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Young s6310 and it definitely did not work. Sorry, but don't know if it will work with the S6.

Yes I have the same Phone (S6 Edge) and bought this cable along with the Audioquest Dragonfly Black. I also use the media player app USB Audio Player Pro that has the drivers to recognize the cable. This setup works like a charm.
