Impactful component sound

Morel's Tempo Ultra 602 component speaker system sports one rugged  6"x9" paper composite woofer — a 1-1/2" voice coil and powerful magnet help give this driver impressive power handling for improved low-frequency performance and minimal distortion. The 1-1/8" soft dome tweeter delivers detailed highs, and Morel also includes a high-quality external crossover to give you an ideal blend of the highs and lows for a powerful stereo image.

Handles up to 140 watts RMS

Morel includes tweeter mounting hardware. This speaker system will handle up to 140 watts RMS, and you'll want to power these components with an aftermarket amplifier for maximum performance.

Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Customer Q&A

Q
Hello, I was looking to make a quality system without subwoofers (because I'm crazy..), and thought if I had 4 of these powered by an amp it would be plenty of bass, but looking at the manual it says frequency response on the low end is 50hz. I'm concerned I'l be completely missing my low bass (seems like I need whatever I buy to be able to go down as low as 35-40hz for frequency response if not using a separate subwoofer). Does anybody know how low these will go when producing low end bass? I understand they are only 6x9's, but I am trying to make a 6 speaker system sound good without a dedicated sub (perhaps a lost cause?)

Dont think they are gonna get that low with the passive crossover installed. I like them as a mid bass driver and feel that is what Morel had intentions for. If you want look a hybrid audio U69s as an alternative.

In my opinion while these are some of the best sounding speakers I've heard,I don't think they would quite fit the bill for you if want deep bass like that. You'll definitely want to add a sub for that. Depending on your ride, you could get away with one set of these for up front and a combo sub/amp unit like the JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3 and save some money and be satisfied. These Morels get LOUD! Easily provide enough sound for your whole car.

I have a pair of them in the front doors of my Ford F150. I did as much sound deadening and vibration damping as possible and sealed the doors as good as can be expected. The low bass is just not there. The don't like to go that low with any authority. I don't have a sub yet but it definitely needs one. You will reach the mechanical limits of the speaker before you get the bass you're looking for. The only possible way the MIGHT come close to working is to put them in boxes like a sub would be. Even then I don't think you could get the output you want.

I can say they provide great bass and sound great. I did however also purchase a powered sub & that hoes under the back seat of my truck.

Obviously they will not match a sub. So, all depends on your own perspective on acceptable level - and of course the installation ( type of car / truck / door etc. ) will make a huge difference between installations. That being said - I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount / quality of bass these produce. Absolutely love these speakers in my 2017 F150 front doors. I put a lot of rubber damping material in the doors - not sure how much it helps but sure is a nice tight punch. I'd personally try what your thinking of first ... then add the sub later if this doesn't do it for you.

What is the basket material?

Het buddy. Im assuming you meen the part around the outside and where you bolt it? If so that is metal. Mine are running off an alpine amplifier 125watt RMS. They never distort and like being played loud. At low volume it seems the tweeter is kida quiet but as you turn it up then they really come on and the detail in the music is great. My truck has 18 speaker's and 5 amplifiers. But i think the morals are my favorite. My other alpine speaker's tweeters are loud and make up for it but they can't handle the bass as much. Unless you buy R series. Hopefully this helps.
