High efficiency

The Primo 104 10" subwoofer uses a treated laminated paper cone with a high-roll rubber surround to deliver superior bass. The cone is driven by a 2" voice coil of copper wire wound on an aluminum former. This sub handles up to 300 watts RMS (600 watts peak) and is equally at home in a sealed or ported enclosure. Designed for high efficiency, you can power the Primo 104 with a modest amplifier and still enjoy high-level output.

Product Research

Features

Spring Posts: The wiring terminals are spring posts which accommodate pin connectors, single banana plugs (posts too wide for dual banana plugs), or bare speaker wire up to 10 gauge.

Sealed Box: Morel recommends sealed enclosure sizes from 0.71 ft³ to 1.2 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable for all types of music.

Ported Box: Morel recommends ported enclosure sizes from 0.8 ft³ to 1.45 ft³, with an optimum volume of 1.1 ft³, using one 3" diameter x 11.6" long port. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.

Customer Q&A

Q
What is the lowest RMS that it could run on? I would like to get 2 but would only have a max of 175 per speaker. Would that be too low for 2 subs or should I look at just going with one at 350 RMS?

A
You can use both subs on the 350 watt rms amp you're planning to use with each sub receiving 175 watts rms each. That amount of power will still be a fairly solid amount of bass. Ideally you don't want to overpower the subs, so this amount of power is definitely safe to use with two subs running on that amp. However, you would get better sound and performance out of using one sub that can handle the full amount of power output from your amp.

Q
How would you compare this to JL Audio W3v3 for SQ?

I have never heard a better sub for a vehicle. Put it in a sealed box that has the Morel recommended dim's and it is fantastic. I have it running off a Morel amp at 200 watts in a Ford Escape and couldn't be happier. Was never a fan of JL. My whole system is made up of Morel Virtus component set in front, set of Morel co axial in back doors . All run off 2 Morel amps and a Hertz processor. Sounds like you have headphones on. Hope it helps

With the primo the base is tight and more accurate. Enclosure is important with this sub. Im running one cubic foot sealed. Playes all genres on music well. I've had jls but I like this sub better. Very satisfied with performance so far.
