Product Research

Features

Overview: The Alpine SBV-10-WRA pre-loaded sub enclosure is designed to fit under the passenger seat of 2007 - 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JKU) models, giving you deep bass without taking up valuable space. (Please enter your vehicle information to confirm fit.) The 10" pre-loaded 2Ω sub is non-amplified and can handle up to 350 watts RMS/1,050 watts peak power. Housed in a durable ABS enclosure, the SBV-10-WRA carries an IP66 weatherproof rating.

Mounting: The Alpine subwoofer installs under the passenger seat with no mounting hardware. The enclosure's shape allows it to be held firmly in place between the passenger seat brackets, so removing and re-installing the seat is all that's needed for mounting the sub.

Wiring: The SBV-10-WRA requires an outboard amplifier (sold separately) and includes a built-in 4" harness with a waterproof connector on the end. A matching connector with an additional 4" of bare 12 AWG wire plugs into this and is then extended to an amplifier.

Q
How do I make this fit in my 2007 JKU? The seat risers arenâ??t tall enough for it to fit under the seat. When placed under the seat, the seat risers are almost 2 inches above the mounting holes.
dustin  Jul 15, 2023

A
This Alpine SBV-10WRA fits your 2007 Wrangler Unlimited, Dustin. The seat does need to be removed for install, and the enclosure is held in place by the existing seat brackets. There is no modification to the Alpine SBV-10-WRA needed. Make sure also that the tall portion of the Alpine SBV-10-WRA is facing forward. This enclosure is designed for factory seats/brackets only, I hope this helps!

Q
What can I replace the sub with? It blew and don't really want to buy the whole setup again. I don't need it to be waterproof.
matt  Mar 14, 2023
1 answer
A
We do not have accurate measurements of the depth of the Alpine 10" speaker in the SBV-10-WRA sadly, Matt. Without those we could not guarantee any fit. That being said, check out this Alpine SWT-10S2 10" in the link below. This is nearly identical specifications wise to the performance of the SBV-10 and would be a great option. This is not weatherproof as you mentioned that was not a priority. I would advise removing the blown sub and just confirming with a measurement that you have the 4 3/16" depth required for this replacement. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SWT10S2/Alpine-SWT-10S2.html

Q
I love the sub but what I don't love is the rattle it causes under the seat. I have had to pull it out and adjust it twice so it stops the rattle. Any thoughts from those who have installed this to get rid of rattles under seat? Dynomat type product on floor board perhaps?

I love the install that my 'guy' did for me but unfortunately i do not love the sub. i'd re-think this unit - double check w staff at Crutchfield - who at this point are 100% more informed than i am. good luck on getting a balanced system
roger  Nov 11, 2021
A
I don't have carpet in my Jeep (it's kevlared inside), so I added 1/2" foam insulation tape to the sub housing where it touches the floor and between it and the seat frame. No rattles. Hope that helps.

Q
Does alpine make the same version for under driver seat as well?
chris  Apr 12, 2021
2 answers
A
No, only for the passenger side. Most use the driver seat for an amp install.
ted  Apr 13, 2021
A
Not to my knowledge.

Q
i have a 2013 jeep wrangler will i need a amp to push this setup?
bobby  Oct 08, 2020

A
Yup. I put one into my 2015 Wrangler. This is designed to go under the passenger seat, and I put a weather sealed Alpine KTA-30MW 300W Compact All-Weather Amplifier under the driver seat. No issues or complaints here.

Q
Will this fit in my JKU under passenger seat if I onstalled aftermarket armorlite flooring to replace OEM carpet? Those who installed with OEM carpet, what is the clearance between the floor and the sub?
cedb1982  Aug 13, 2020
2 answers
A
It will depend on the thickness of the Armorlite. This unit is TIGHT with just carpet under the seat, I have heard some people cut the carpet out so that the seat frame doesn't clamp the unit against the floor. I shimmed my seat up with a single fender washer under each mount to make it a more comfortable fit.
aaron  Aug 13, 2020
A
It will fit. The tub in my JKU is lined without carpet as well. I put 1/2" rubber seal on the sub housing where it lays on the floor and the seat now holds the sub solidly.
wesley  Aug 13, 2020
Q
I would love to know if anyone has installed this in a Jeep JK 2 door model, not the unlimited or 4 door models? The front seats seem the same to me in both 4 door and 2 door models and JK Sport versus Unlimited models. Thank you!
robert  Jul 07, 2020
3 answers
A
There is no room for error under my 4 door seat. No bolts hold this in it is wedged under the seat rails. If the 2 door differs at all underneath it will not fit. Sounds fantastic hope you find someone that has made it work in the 2 door.
joe  Jul 21, 2020
A
Hello, I installed this in the 4 door wrangler and it will not work in the 2 door because then seat needs to move up for people to get in the back, and so the under seat is different is both.
colby  Jul 21, 2020
A
same fit between 2 door or 4 door - great sound from a little package
brian  Jul 21, 2020
Q
Will this fit in a 2019 JL? If not, has Alpine made a new version?
robyn  Nov 19, 2019
1 answer
A
This doesn't fit JL models. I've looked at Alpine's site and seen there is an upgrade with a powered subwoofer for the JLU model; but nothing for the JL model. This might change in the future so I'd recommend checking with an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695

Q
would this fit on my 2011 jeep wrangler 2dr with no modification to the seat would the seat move to the front location so someone can seat in the back seat with no problem ?
noylan  Oct 06, 2019
3 answers
A
Yes, this subwoofer will mount underneath the passenger seat of your Jeep Wrangler. The seat stays in the same location, but you have to remove two small brackets and reroute a wiring harness to make room for the subwoofer (it takes up every inch of space). Back seat riders will not have a problem with the sub, but it will take away what room would have been available before the sub.
jessica  Oct 07, 2019
A
It fits perfect, and sounds amazing. You wont even know its there. I installed in a JK 4 door and it was mint. Double check fitment for the 2dr.
richard  Oct 06, 2019
A
Yes, this would work fine. It doesn't obstruct the seat movement at all.
jason  Oct 06, 2019
Q
If I already have the Alpine PWE-S8-WRA installed under my drivers seat, can I add the Alpine SBV-10-WRA under passenger too (using stock radio)?
chad  Aug 16, 2019
1 answer
A
Sure. You will need an amplifier, and wiring kit to power the SBV-10-WRA, and you will have to tap into your speaker wires for signal, but you could make it work for sure.

Q
My alpine amp is under passenger seat, so if I get this where would my amp go?
jay  Jun 02, 2019
5 answers
A
If it is the FACTORY AMP, then you will have to find another subwoofer option. If this is an AFTERMARKET amp, then if you want to use this sub then you will have to find another place to mount your amp.
jessica  Jun 15, 2019
A
I mounted a small Rockford Fosgate amp under the back seat. It's angled and still allows the seat to fold down. Depending on the size of your amp you could mount it under the drivers seat or in the factory amp location under the steering wheel.
gary  Jun 15, 2019
A
we installed our amp under the drivers seat. There's a guy on eBay that makes and sells an amp bracket/shelf that's perfect for under the drivers seat of a Wrangler JK and it keeps everything off the floor.
jason  Jun 14, 2019
A
I mounted my alpine amp under the driver's seat
john  Jun 14, 2019
A
I have since sold my Jeep, but... I mounted and wired it underneath the rear passenger seat. Logistically placed so the folding mechanism would clear it when seats folded down. Not much room, was able to do it so the wiring wasn't impacted.
john  Jun 14, 2019
Q
I know this sub will work for my 2017 jeep, but will there be an issue with the fit since the connectors/brackets for the heated seats is directly under the seat? Thanks for your time with my question.
cruz  May 12, 2019
4 answers
A
You will have to remove the bracket and zip tie the harness to the seat so that it doesn't interfere with the sub.
jessica  May 24, 2019
A
You will need to remove the bracket and use a zip tie to attach the wire connector in place.
doug  May 13, 2019
A
It will not be an issue. The mounting bracket for the wires going to the heater and seat belt indicator will be removed during installation. The wires will be moved out of the way. I saved the mounting bracket and used it under the driver seat to mount the amp. There is another bracket under the driver. The two together with a little modification make a great area for the amp. Up off the carpet and lower enough under the seat so heat from the amp won't be an issue.
donald  May 12, 2019
A
You can relocate any brackets and harnesses with zip ties. You will have to do this for the seat belt harness as well
ron  May 12, 2019
Q
Can I also put one under the driver seat if I wanted more base? I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler 4 door
cassandra  Jan 04, 2019
8 answers
A
No, because the box is built asymmetrically. It won't fit under the driver's seat. This enclosure and sub, with adequate power (I used a 350w amp) is more than adequate thump and bass for your Jeep. I run it at about half gain to keep the sound balanced, in my opinion. I am unexpectedly pleased with its performance.
jay  Jan 08, 2019
A
I think you can choose a version for driver or passenger side. We have a passenger version. We have a 5 channel amp with around 375 watts to this woofer. To say it simply, it sounds so good, even the installer couldn't believe how good it sounded. Highly recommended!
michael  Jan 06, 2019
A
I'd say no, the way it is molded fits perfectly under the passenger seat. It wouldn't fit under the driver's seat as designed.
john  Jan 05, 2019
A
This sub is meant for under passenger seat mounting only. The contour of the box will not allow you to install under driver seat
jeremy  Jan 05, 2019
A
NO. This subwoofer is made to fit the PASSENGER SIDE ONLY.
jessica  Jan 04, 2019
A
No. Its shape is specific to passenger side.
ron  Jan 04, 2019
A
No, this item only fits under the passenger side seat.
jason  Jan 04, 2019
A
Should be able to?
jak  Jan 04, 2019
Q
Will this system fit in a 2 door (not unlimited) jeep jk? Will swing mechanism interfere?
brian  Jul 28, 2018
1 answer
A
Yes: The Alpine SBV-10-WRA pre-loaded sub enclosure is designed to fit under the passenger seat of 2007 - 2017 Jeep Wrangler JK models. The Alpine subwoofer installs under the passenger seat with no mounting hardware. The enclosure's shape allows it to be held firmly in place between the passenger seat brackets, so removing and re-installing the seat is all that's needed for mounting the sub.

I have the PSS-21 WRA system. Can I buy this and swap it out for the PWE-S8?
david  Jul 24, 2018

This is not a powered sub. It requires an amp. I mounted an amp under the driver's seat and the Alpine sub goes under the passenger seat.

Will this fit a 2011 Sahara Unlimited? The description says 2007-2018 but the vehicle figment feature says it doesn't fit. Also other websites say this fits only 15-18 jeeps

Q
What is the actual speaker mounting depth of the Alpine SBV-10-WRA subwoofer only? Just curious in case I want to change the sub itself.
jacob  Apr 29, 2018

A
Unfortunately the depth of the subwoofer itself is not provided for Alpine's SBV-10-WRA. For more information on that, you may want to contact Alpine's support directly; or searching the Alpine Support page from their website: https://www.alpine-usa.com/index.php/support

The website says this fits my vehicle but it is listed as only fitting a 2007-2018 jeeps not a 2004? so will it fit in my jeep or not?

Hi Owen. There was an issue with the way this item was filtered, and it was showing up for incorrect vehicles. This should be corrected now, but it doesn't appear that this will work with the 2004.
