Channel Master CM 5020 Masterpiece
Directional long-range outdoor rooftop TV antenna
Our take on the Channel Master CM 5020 Masterpiece by Crutchfield's Steve Kindig
With a moniker like "Masterpiece," Channel Master's CM 5020 antenna had better be pretty good — and it is. It's recommended for "deep-fringe" applications — its large size and numerous reception elements help it pull in signals from distant transmitters. It pulls in over-the-air TV signals in the UHF and VHF bands — probably more channels than you knew were available.
To get the most channels possible, try adding Channel Master's 7777 preamplifier. Also, if you'd like to pull in signals from two or more different locations, you may want to consider a rotor to aim your antenna in the right direction.
The CM 5020 is classified as a Large Directional antenna. For tips on selecting an antenna, and links to websites that help you locate HDTV signals in your area, check out our article on choosing the best HDTV antenna.
