The rugged ported box was designed as a perfect match for the subs, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of music you prefer.

Two hard-hitting CompC subs

Each 12" CompC sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, with a ribbed foam surround that promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cones on target. A heavy-duty steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port enhances bass production without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Greetings Richie, and thank you for your question. Personally, I would be using minimum of 12 gauge with this subwoofer.

Will this fit in the trunk of a 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5s?

A
It will fit into the trunk of the 2010 Nissan Altima 2.5s sedan but cannot fit into the trunk of the coupe.

Q
This is going in the trunk of a Ford Five Hundred sedan. Pretty big trunk. Should this face towards the back seats or towards the rear? Any advantage to placing it one way vs the other? Thanks
skippy  May 07, 2023
1 answer
A
Thank you for your question, Mike. typically, you'll get the most pronounced bass if you put the sub box against the seats in the trunk facing away from the driver. You can try it facing both ways to see which sounds best in your car.

Q
What kicker Amp is best for these subs? I have the kicker bass knob already and need a Amp that works with it.
chuck  Nov 05, 2022
1 answer
A
The ideal Kicker amplifier for these subs would be the 46CXA800.1T, which gives us 600w RMS at 2-ohm. These subs are rated to handle 600w RMS and will present the amplifier with a 2-ohm load. The bass knob will need to have a 3.5mm jack in order to connect to this amplifier. This is common for Kicker amps and knobs, so you shouldn't have an issue there. Here's a link to the amp for reference: www.crutchfield.com/p_20646CX81T/item.html

Q
How much internal airspace does this box have?
jaybandz  Oct 17, 2022
1 answer
A
That's a great question Jay. Kicker does not list the internal specs sadly, so there is really no way to tell sadly. The Kicker 44DCWC122 solo speaker Kicker does list at around 1.75 cubes as the lowest recommended ported size, so this box could be close to that as Kicker knows what they are doing box wise! I hope this helps.

Q
can i put comp VX blue kicker subs in this prefab box or is the cutout different? i noticed that the comp VX has a 11- 1/16 cutout and the comp c 12s have 10-15/16 cutout soâ?¦..one of the crutchfield guys says iâ??ll have problems with depth but the cutout seems to be the problem ?!?!Please help.
jeremy  Aug 04, 2022
1 answer
A
That was me that answered before Jeremy we are linked up again, awesome! So its not uncommon for hole cutout sizes to be a little off, but the Comp VX being larger could cause issues here because Kicker makes these boxes specifically for those Comp C 12's. Since its made specific it's really best to just be used with the Comp C 12's even though other options may physically fit. Be careful, because boxes like this SPL below may look attractive but we do not pair this with the Comp VX because this box only has 1.6 cu feet per chamber. If you're looking for a bass upgrade and eyeing the Comp VX for the most upgrade you should consider using a new box also if you can fit one in your ride. I hope this helps Jeremy. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_419SB212SV/SPL-Boxes-SB212SV.html

jeremy  Aug 04, 2022

A
There may or may not be a depth issue, as there might be support substructure inside that enclosure. The cutout is is 1/8" inch larger, so that may also interfere with you putting those VX into this box designed for the CompC.

Q
Does this set up need a break in performed ?
lee  Sep 04, 2021
1 answer
A
Break in periods are a good idea for all speakers. Once properly installed, and the amp has been tuned and calibrated. I would keep the volumes and levels between50-75% for the first 20-30 hours of lay time to allow for break in.

Not necessarily, but depending on the type of vehicle you are putting this in . Newer vehicles have a lot of sensors and electrical stuff that draws a lot from the battery. I'm running these on a 05 4Runner no cap needed at all . And I have led lights no dimming at all

Q
I am trying to decide between these subwoofers and the MTX TNP212DV. I want harder hitting bass but I'm not sure that more watts means louder/bigger bass. If you have any different suggestions I'm open to them. Which should I get for harder hitting bass?
noah  Jan 05, 2021
1 answer
A
I've had both. The kicker is definitely a clearer deeper sound than the mtx, I've since replaced my mtx with the kicker in my Suburban, I have the mtx in my volkswagen CC now. If you tune it right, they both are great value for the price. If you're just looking for more hit, go for the mtx, if you want real loud clear low tones the kicker wins they're, but the mtx is more than capable, and I'm sure you'll be satisfied with either

Yes there is likely room for that enclosure depending on where you are trying to put it and what exact model Civic you have.
