Q
What do I do if I don't Have a factory dash usb?

A
Greetings Irvinn, and thank you for your question. If you do not have a factory USB port, this adapter will be no good to you. We have USB extensions that can under dash mount, or if you create a round hole in the dash, can flush mount in the dash, or anywhere within 6 feet of the stereo for that matter.

Q
Is this compatible with the Alpine iLX-W650 when wanting to connect to the factory installed USB port in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition to use Apple CarPlay?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

I purchased a Pioneer DMH-WC5700NEX receiver for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK - it has wireless connection for iphone and android - I should not need this USB port cable should I?

This cable will let you use your factory USB port to connect your phone to your head unit and use apple CarPlay or android equivalent.

Q
I installed this on my 2017 Wrangler Unlimited JK to go along with my Pioneer AVH 2550 NEX radio I just installed. When I plug my phone is, it connects for about 30 seconds for Android Auto and then it disconnects and the radio gives me the error message that it is no longer connected. I tried that a few times. Anyone have this issue and know what the solution could be?? I would love to keep my factory USB in the console!

Check for a loose connection. I think it reccomends you tape the connections together to keep them secure. I didn't think I needed to tape mine but it started to drop connection when I would hit bumps. I taped the joints together and haven't had a problem since. It could also be your phone. My Android auto with my Kenwood reciever does this sometimes. I just unplug and plug it back in and it usually works. Seems like it has something to do with the Bluetooth connection and USB connection not syncing up. Is your phone paired with your vehicle via Bluetooth while trying to connect to receiver?

Maybe try updating the firmware of the head unit. I have the same problem with my Samsung S8 and Kenwood head unit. Im not worried anout mine because I only use it to charge my phone.

When I was replacing my factory radio in my 2014 wrangler with a Sony xav-ax100 I could not find where i am supposed to connect this to keep the factory USB location. Any help?

On my 2014 wrangler, there is a unconnect box behind the air and heat buttons. Put you're brake on, move shifter to drive and 4 wheel to low. Pop out the cover over the ac controls and disconnect the connectors. You will see a black box, this is your uconnect. On the left is the usb. Disconnect it and attract it to you adapter then to usb on back of radio

You just match the ends and plug them in. This didn't work on my GMC Sierra trying to connect the existing USB port in the center console.

I don't know the vehicle you are using it for but it didn't work for my 2015 Ram 1500 I even tried it on my friends 2014 and it didn't work on his so I thought maybe it was bad so I ordered another and it still didn't work.
