Fits perfect in 2008 Element!

2008 Honda Element
This dash kit worked like a charm when installing a single DIN head unit into my wife's 2008 Honda Element EX, after I realized I had the side plates upside down and corrected the problem. The materials blend well with the nearby OEM plastics and it holds the head-unit perfectly fine. The little cubby holds an xl size phone ok, but you way want to put some textured contact paper or fabric in there to prevent too much sliding about.
Pros: Solidly built Matches OEM materials closely Adds extra storage
Cons: Easy to mix up the side panels

Fits fine but the cover that goes around the face of my stereo wouldn't fit back on. And the sides don't snap on which makes install tricky.

Perfect

Perfect fit as always for car, radio fit was adequate
Pros: Perfect fit
Cons: This could use more options for attaching the radio to it, but ultimately it did work with some finagling.

Doesn't fit 2010 Honda Element LX ...
It simply doesn't fit the 2010 Honda Element LX even though it says it will. It's as if Crutchfield just assumed it would fit without ever checking. The face of the kit is angled where the opening of the LX is straight. A Crutchfield rep did apologize and sent me the HON-K828, which fits. However, that is the cheapest, worst quality kit I've ever seen -- and I've installed quite a few stereos. Since the quality felt flimsy, and the instructions required breaking off about 10 tabs, I knew not to screw it in too tight. But as soon as I screwed it in, all four mounting brackets broke. Rep said he hasn't heard of this problem before -- I'm certain, like the last reviewer, since it's free they just never bothered to complain. I, however, did pay for mine, and they're sending me a replacement. I'll give it one more chance before going with a Scosche. My first bad experience with Crutchfield and a SERIOUS waste of time. [Editor's Note: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have corrected our database, and are now using the Scosche kit (Item# 142HA1701B) for the LX model.]

2009 Honda Element
This came free with the HU. It doesn't fit well in the 2009 Element LX. It's narrow at the bottom and leaves a gap on each side. It wasn't needed anyway. The aftermarket radio bolted right into the factory part.
