It is very nice to have the pocket-My 2004 Tacoma has no center console or other storage other than the glove compartment-however, it is so slick, my wallet keeps falling out of the pocket when I accelerate. (and, that is saying a lot, because the 4-banger in my truck is no screamer.....). A better design would have a rough material for grip, a slight lip at the end, or to have it angled slightly downwards so that things will stay inside it. I will retrofit with some stick-on felt or rubber to combat this problem.
Pros: Nice to have extra storage.....
Cons: Smooth, so things fall out under acceleration.

A good base for a tablet support

This provided a very solid base on which to mount the new receiver and brackets in my Camry. It also provided a base for a tablet holder, after drilling two holes on the right side and attaching a piece of soft steel bar to attach the tablet holder. This seems a lot better than the vent or CD slot mounts for tablets that are commonly available for purchase. The tablet doesn't block anything and is positioned perfectly for maps or music while driving. I'm not sure why there isn't a commercially available tablet/smartphone support using the box, but I didn't find any.

Install manual supplied specifies to cut off "nubs" locators on bracket. Doing this on 2002 Toyota 4 Runner the dash pocket does not lock in place. About an 1/8" gap to console. Need to put double sided tape to keep dash pocket from shaking up and down.

Pros: Big enough for phone. Alignment "nubs" fit the factory brackets in a 21 year old truck perfectly.

This was recommended to fill the din slot left when I replaced my double din factory stereo with a single din unit. It fit perfectly and matches the matte black plastic of the dash very well.
Pros: Great storage option, easy to install under the new deck
Cons: Could be slightly deeper, but this is universal, so the mounting depth was probably a concern when designing the product.

Gets the job done, but with a few flaws. Construction could be a little sturdier, especially the spacer fins and tabs around the frame. Mine came with a tab and fin broken off and the other fins bent. The screw holes are not pre-threaded, so prepare to use some muscle while attaching the mounting brackets.

Works just fine. The only issue I had was with the two tabs that are on the side that faces the head unit. The tabs were pressing very tightly against the head unit and visibly deforming the outer case. There was so much pressure that the pocket would not stay attached to the head unit unless it was screwed into the brackets. I filed them down so that they were lightly touching the case and it fixed the problem.

Worked well in my 1992 Toyota 4Runner. I previously had a pocket but it was stolen when our truck was broken into and they took our stereo. I was glad to see I would get another pocket for free with the purchase of my sony mex-xb100bt

Great product! Was sent in a timely manner and served its purpose greatly. Installed this on a 2001 Toyota 4Runner. Any tips for people trying to install it, attach to the bottom of tor single din receiver and use the old brackets to attach it back to its rightful place.

Nice well built unit. Added welcome storage in the lower half of 2002 Toyota double DIN. The Holes in the unit did not line up well with the factory Toyota mount.

The holes for this kit did not line up with the receiver brackets and could not be used. The stereo I replaced already had pocket that I just reused. This could possibly be due to my JDM car was different from US specs. Not a big deal for me.
