Best start of journey in market
Patryk from Austin, TX on 3/6/2023
It's the well-designed unit for someone who build his first center home theater and stereo set. You can easily start with standard 5.1 and extend to 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 with simple bookshelf speakers, once you are ready to upgrade, you put towers with separate amps and enjoy both your stereo and 7.1 system by moving the bookshelf to back (it has 13 channels but 11 is amped, so I prefer to have stereo channels amped seperatly). It lets you experiment with Atmos or A3D and decide which is your flavor.

Best receiver I've ever owned.
Mitch from Bend, OR on 2/20/2023
This reciever is fantastic wits so many options supported it has the capability to do anything you want out of a reciever. The ultimate is that while the reciever is a 7.2.4 system, it supports 7.2.6 sound processing. So add an external power Amp to your front tower speakers and you have a system to play Hi-Fi stereo at FLAC 192KHZ 24BIT along with a 7.2.6 ATMOS movie system. Beautiful! Oh, also there are two (2) presets accessible from the remote "Option" button, so setting up the sound for music on one and movies on the other is simple. Last but not least, are you worried about burn-in on your OLED TV while the same music album is on the screen for 1/2 hour? Not an issue, select "Video Select" from the options and stream something. Honestly, this Receiver is fantastic.

Only one short coming

The only complaint is the remote. At this price point why doesn't the remote have a metal housing and why aren't the buttons lit? The remote feels cheap.
Pros: Great unit
Cons: The remote

Was pretty easy to set up. Right out of the box and jamming in minutes. Of course, I am learning it as we speak. Switched from Sony 7 channel avr. Love the pics to help with setup . Sound quality went way up with more power to my Klipsch

Good AVR - Bad App
Keith from ROCKVILLE, MD on 9/3/2022
Good AVR and a nice replacement for my 4311. The downside is that the mobile app from Denon sucks. Sometimes it takes 30 seconds to respond to simple commands like mute or volume changes. Hurts the overall experience since the bad is more noticeable than the good.
Pros: good sound
Cons: App

Denon AVR-X6700H

This replaced a Denon 4310ci and was impressed how much better everything sounded. While the unit is mainly for house sound sound the HEOS app works great for my patio music. All of my equipment is in a closet. I use an AC Infinity AIRCOM T10 Fan system and while a lot of articles claim it runs hot and while that may or may not be true it's no hotter than the 4310ci ran.

Decent receiver

Product is ok, apps are a little lag and not that intuitive. Same with Heos, amazon music, it won't show your playlist and things like that. Testing against an integra 5.4 and Anthem 1140. The sound profile doesn't compare to an Anthem, but the main point of this review is it does support 4k120hz. you have to use the 8k port in and you have to go into audio and change the setting on 8k from enhanced to 8k enhanced or something like that. I have tested that and verified it. The sound stage so far with XBox and movies is better than I expected. I haven't found much difference in the room correction from any of the 3 and don't really notice when I enable or disable it but have only went through the base config on all 3 with no tweaking. From a price/performance/value standpoint on what I've tested, so far I'd give it a 3.5 but if you get it set it up and don't compare it with anything else it'll should do just fine.

HOME THEATER UPGRADE
BURG from Lumberton, NJ on 10/15/2021
This receiver replaces a DENON AVR-3313CI. Movies and music are at another level from my old receiver. Almost every streaming music service is supported. There are enough HDMI inputs for all of my components. It's expensive but worth every penny.
Pros: Outstanding audio and video with superb build quality.
Cons: NONE

Denon AVR-X6700H
Crutchfield customer from Auburn, WA on 8/18/2021
First I want to say Crutchfield is always great to deal with. Receiver has more power, better sound quality than my 18 year old Sony ES.
Pros: Lots of power, lots of options if going from an older receiver once you learn them.
Cons: I think the price is way to high and cant see the internals costing that much more to make than a $500.00 receiver. The warranty should be much longer for what you spend. This receiver does a lot and some of the setup was easy and some of it wasn't and the instruction aren't real good explaining the different setup. Had to call Denon for support, no wait time. First guy was a script reader and didn't really resolve issue. Second time I got a gal on the phone that knew the product and resolve.

4K/120 fps Pass-through Does Not Work As Advertised
Crutchfield customer from San Diego, CA on 1/27/2021
Unfortunately, this product is unable to output 4K/120 fps content as advertised when using an Xbox Series X. I specifically bought this to take advantage of 4K/120 fps content. If you're planning to buy this for gaming purposes, short answer is don't.
Pros:
Cons: - Does not work as advertised with Xbox Series X. - Denon completely unresponsive to requests for service or to identify how they will resolve the issue.

Denon AVR-X6700H
Crutchfield customer from Arlington, VA on 1/24/2021
I swapped out a Yamaha RX-Z7 for this Denon and couldn't be happier. Clearly, the Denon is a more modern unit, but boy does it sing in comparison. The separation and depth of the sound it puts out is top-notch. The sound profiles for movies or music are distinct and offer a lot of variety depending on what you are listening to. I am driving two Canton tower speakers for the fronts, and smaller bookshelf style Canton's for the rears, center, and surround back speakers and they finally sound like they should. Movies are beautiful and music really enjoyable. Other than wishing I had a few more watts per channel I feel this was an excellent buy.

Unparalleled Sound Upgrade
Crutchfield customer from Jersey City, NJ on 11/30/2020
I was able to grab this while it was in stock after debating on this or the Marantz model. After much research and chat with the extremely knowledgeable Crutchfield reps I decided on the Denon as I am almost exclusively using it to watch movies as opposed to listening to music. I upgraded from an older Denon 5.1 system that is almost 8 years ago. Now I have Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 and my lord coupled with my LG OLED TV Dolby Vision/Atmos is amazing! FYI this supports HDMI 2.1 as does my LG TV, that was a main reason for getting this model/brand over others as well. Setup was a total breeze, it walked me through the Dolby Atmos setup of the speakers, was up and running in 30min.

Excellent upgrade, just slightly short of perfection
Crutchfield customer from Baltimore, MD on 9/20/2020
I upgraded from a Yamaha A2010 to the Denon AVR-X6700H for my 5.1 channel home theater. I'm looking at eventually upgrading to a 4K TV, but only have an old 1080p TV now. The Setup Assistant was mostly intuitive, and guided me through the automated calibrations. A pair of cardboard cutouts that together create a "rocket ship" out of cardboard to hold the calibration microphone in listening positions. The makeshift platform worked well. The Setup Assistant did, however, freeze completely during the initial setup, requiring a power cycle to resume configuration. Compared to the Yamaha, the sound is leaner but more enveloping. I experience more sound sent to the surround speakers (which I like), and good integration between the three front speakers. The Yamaha has a fuller, richer sound. Both sound good, just different but equally reasonable interpretations. The Denon I perfer for movies than the Yamaha, while I would give the musical edge to the Yamaha (although the Denon works well for music, too). So overall, it has great sound and is reasonably well configurable. I have just a couple minor quibbles with the on-screen setup, and have had some difficulty getting Roon to work with this receiver (which is advertised as Roon-compatible.) Still, the Denon AVR-X6700H represents close to 5-star performance. A few tweaks in managing the unit's on-screen configuration and tighter integration with other devices and services would pus
Pros: 1) Good, enveloping theater sound 2) Support for virtually every audio and video format available today 3) Compact design for a near-top-of-the-line unit, which would be helpful in confined spaces. 4) Support for 4K and 8K video
Cons: 1) Setup didn't optimally configure the gain for my subwoofer, requiring manual adjustment. 2) In the setup, "Source Rename" and "Input Assign" should really be on the same screen. The division represents a less-obvious way of assigning the various inputs, although Input Assign has one of the best interfaces I've seen on a home theater receiver. It just falls slightly short of perfect by being disconnected with the source renaming. 3) Integration with Roon server is not straightforward
