This all-weather digital media receiver features built-in Bluetooth, so you can stream your favourite tunes without taking your phone out of your pocket.
This rugged receiver packs a lot of features into a compact design that fits into a standard gauge opening. Enjoy your favourite AM/FM radio stations, or plug a compatible device into the rear USB or AUX inputs. The 3-band EQ lets you optimize the sound for your tunes, the preamp outputs will come in handy when you add marine amps and subs to your system. There's a rear camera input, too.
The colour LED display lets you see what you're hearing with just a glance, while the IPX6-rated water-resistant face panel and big, easy-to-use controls are made to resist sun, salt, and moisture.

Features
Fully Marinized (IPX6): Fully Marinized is the term Boss uses for their Marine and Outdoor products that are weather-proof. Boss integrates high-tech, state-of-the-art waterproofing materials plus special UV coatings for plastic surfaces, coated circuit boards and connections to protect the MGV550B digital media receiver against the harsh outdoor elements and resist corrosion. IPX6 waterproof certification means it can hold up in the marine environment and withstand powerful splashes of water out on the ocean or lake. During testing, water is projected at all angles through a 12.5mm nozzle at a flow rate of 100 liters/min at a pressure of 100 kN/m2 for 3 minutes from a distance of 3 meters.
Note: This unit should not be submerged in water.
Gauge-Style Mount: The Boss MGV550B is a guage-style digital media receiver that requires a 3.515" cutout in the bulkhead for inserting the chassis. The integrated protective gasket and mounting hardware secure the unit in place against the mounting surface. Receiver dimensions are as follows -

Note: The receiver's chassis is round and does not include a mounting sleeve or ISO-mount screw holes to accommodate standard automotive installation.
Touchscreen Display & Simple Control: The Boss MGV550B feature a front-panel 5" LCD touchscreen, 3-way rotary knob, and 8 push-buttons. You can select between 7 wallpaper backgrounds for LCD touchscreen. The push-buttons have a fixed blue illumination. A rubber cover is included to protect the front-panel of the receiver when not in use.
20W x 4Ch Amp: The Boss MGV550B marine receiver is equipped with a built-in amplifier rated at 20W (RMS) x 4 channel / 60W (Peak) x 4 channel.
2V/6Ch Preouts: The Boss MGV550B digital media receiver is outfitted with 2V/6ch preouts (Front/Rear/Sub) for connecting an external power amplifier or amplifiers. The subwoofer preouts feature a variable low-pass crossover (80/120/160Hz) and level control (0-15).
Built-In EQ: The built-in, Preset EQ allows you to chose from preset EQ curves (Flat, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Beat, or User) for a variety of music styles. The User mode lets you manually adjust the receiver's Bass, Mid, & Treble (-7 to +7). In addition, a Loudness feature enhances high and low frequencies at low volume levels.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming: Thanks to built-in Bluetooth 4.1, you can wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet device to the Boss Marine gauge-style receiver. The unit offers Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track control, as well as song/artist info display (no album art).
Note: This unit does not offer support for Bluetooth hands-free phone communication.
USB-A Port: The Boss Marine gauge-style receiver is outfitted with a rear-panel USB-A port attached to the rear-chassis via a 7" cable and comes with a 40" USB extension cable. The USB-A port allows you to plug in your USB mass storage class device, like a USB thumbdrive (up to 32GB), for playback of MP3/WMA music files. Your USB MSC device must be formatted in FAT 32. The unit offers Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track control, as well as song/artist information display (no album art). If your USB MSC device can be charged via USB, the unit's USB (5V/1A) port will charge your device while connected.
Note: The unit's USB port does not support Apple iOS devices, Android OS devices, USB hubs, or card-readers.
AV Input: The Boss marine digital media receiver feature an AV input that consists of a composite video input and stereo RCA inputs for connecting an external audio/video source device.
Camera Input: The Boss MGV550B features a composite video camera input that allows you to connect a backup camera (sold separately - see Accessories Tab). A reverse gear wire (Brown) allows the unit to automatically switch to the backup image when your vehicle is put into reverse gear, or you can manually switch to the camera input's video signal. A Pink 12V/500ma wire provides power to your connected camera.
AM/FM Tuner: The built-in AM/FM tuner offers manual, seek, and preset tuning. You can store up to 18 FM and 12 AM preset stations. The unit does not offer direct preset buttons, Instead, you'll have to scroll through its on-screen menu to access radio presets. The unit features a Zero Current Draw Memory, so that it will still remember all your AM/FM presets even in case of battery disconnect. You can also select between US or European tuning.
