It does what it is supposed to do and the learning curve wasn't that steep for a seventy three year old. Considering that almost half the instrument panel had to be removed, the installation instructions were exceptional. The crutchfield crew stood by with help every step of the way.

Great replacement on my 09 Tahoe. Very nice set up. Apple CarPlay works flawlessly. A little glare but that's to be expected. Wish dimming the screen was a little easier but that's my biggest complaint ( only have had installed for 5 days, so I'm still figuring it out)

Solid entry level head unit. For the price, you can't beat it. Apple CarPlay in an 04 Highlander with integrated JBL sound system. Sounds amazing and the digital multimedia receiver is packed with features including a camera input for a backup cam if you wanted one. 5 stars.

thank you to Aaron for recommending this unit. I had purchased a different JVC unit that did not have Apple Play and the phone reception was awful. Aaron gladly exchanged that unit and recommended this one and is it great. Crystal clear phone conversations (my wife thanks you) and its nice to have maps display on the unit vs. my iphone screen. Relatively easy install (the recommended harnesses are a must!), responsive touch screen and good compatibility when adding a rear view camera. Switches quickly to the camera when putting the truck into reverse, and the steering wheel button functionality is retained. Overall, a very solid budget friendly unit that does everything I needed. Wish I did this years ago.

Love this Head unit! Installed in our 2019 Subaru Outback. Installation was a little tricky, but thanks to the alway awesome Crutchfield tech support got it installed perfectly. Very impressed with the installation kit, looks like it belongs in the car. Great sound, Bluetooth function perfect, retained backup camera and steering wheel controls.

All I can say is Crutchfield is Awesome. I ordered JVC receiver for my Ford E 350 van so we would have CarPlay and navigation using are phone . I ordered the suggested supplies with the optional Redi harness. The hardest part was removibg the trim and dropping the steering column making room for the old receiver to come out. Preparing the new unit was simple, attach the frame and side supports to the unit and removing the tabs that were not needed for my application. Plug in the redi harness to the new unit and make the connections to the factory wiring harness, replace the 4 mounting screws with the longer screws provided , and turn it on and start listening. Way better than the old days of tracing g out the OEM harness and crimping or soldering the connections.Those days are gone, thank you Crutchfield for making it easy.

This is a very good CarPlay receiver. I can't speak to anything else about it like android auto. It's simple and no frills. Has everything I wanted and nothing I didn't.or so I thought. It doesn't come with a remote and I have never used one EVER with a head unit but I might have to start. I am not a fan of the volume button location. Probably due to my old unit having those buttons along the bottom. A remote might help with that. For now I am reprogramming my brain. Only other gripe would be the colors. Red and orange seem pretty close. Admittedly I haven't tried messing with the display settings yet. In CarPlay the music app icon is red and the books orange. They are fairly close to the same color is all. Nitpicking here for sure. Coming from a Sony AX5000 which finally started acting weird - I think the USB cable out the back was loose or was broken; I don't miss anything. The great thing about CarPlay is it's the same on pretty much any head unit. I chose this one for three reasons 1. Price. I wasn't looking for cheapest, but I also didn't want to spend for features I wouldn't need. 2. RMS watts built in. This one had a bigger amp built in than another I was considering. 3. Depth. Being shallower than normal is advantageous to me. Crutchfield service as usual was top notch. Quickly shipped and packaged perfectly.

Purchased this stereo to replace the stock stereo in my daughter's Honda Pilot. Insallation was not challenging. Stereo seems to be working as it should. My daughter is very pleased with it...so far. We purchased speakers as well, but with the new stereo, the stock speakers are working and sounding better than before, so we have not committed to installing the new speakers at this time. This product was affordable and met all our needs (bluetooth, Apple Play, etc.).

This head unit is glitchy. Ever since installation, I have had issues with it freezing periodically. The only way to unfreeze it is to turn the car off and turn it back on. As of yesterday, it has stopped auto-opening Android Auto when I plug my phone in and it will no longer play Spotify music unless I open the app on my phone first. No settings have changed. I'm past the 60 day return window.

Only had it installed a few times but overall good unit espically for the price point its at. Loads fast. Apple car play is instant. Lots of audio settings you can mess with to fine tune the sound. Responsive touch screen. Bluetooth mic works well and was easy to route out of the way.

Cons: Volume button sucks. Have to click it a bunch to turn it up or down. You can hold it but its also pretty slow. Luckily i retained my steering wheel controls. The power and volume buttons only light up as blue lines at night. So you have to remember where they are. Again steering wheel controls so not a big issue.

touch screen just goes crazy. I had to replace it after 2 years because the touchscreen started having phantom inputs. It made it very unsafe to drive because it might just start increasing the volume to ear bursting volumes. Of course this only started just barely after the warranty went out. even when it worked it had issues sure it has great features like time delay correction but every time you unhook the battery it loses all of that so that feature I just quit using. also it plays the ringtone about 20dB louder than music so that's fun. carplay also would just randomly crash and it wasn't my phone car play worked fine in her car.

Radio is not working properly. Screen is randomly changing and acting as if the someone is changing the channel or inputs. When in Carplay the radio will call people randomly. Tried resetting and firm ware update and nothing has stopped it more than for a few minutes and then it starts randomly changing again.

I was looking for a new radio for my 2007 Dodge Ram 2500, I looked all over the internet and was confused as to what to buy. Than I came across this company called Crutchfield, I called and talked to Mike and what any east process it was to find the radio that would work for my truck. Mike took the time to make sure it was everything that I wanted and it would work on my 2007 Dodge Ram. I received the radio in 2 days, I was a breeze to install. I did have trouble with the install, but after 1 call to Crutchfield problem solved. 10 stars to Crutchfield!!

Pros: Easy installation, sound quality excellent, has CarPlay and has an android auto. Does have a clear picture for navigation.
Cons: Android auto doesn't work, you have to plug up your iPhone to use CarPlay and you're supposed to hook up your android for android auto, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Got it at a scratch & dent discount, but no issues at all from what I can tell and the 2-year factory warranty is still valid. The instruction manual barely mentions the Bluetooth mic, so I skipped installing it. However, it is required for any voice commands via Android Auto on my OnePlus7T, so I'll be going back in soon for the install. Connecting via Bluetooth has quite limited functionality. It seems a phone USB connection is required in order to use Android Auto, but the Scosche PowerVoltT Dash Port I also installed is working very well so far. After having a CD player with a volume knob in my '06 Tacoma for 18 years, a less-responsive touch button is quite an adjustment, but I'll get used to it. Overall I'm very pleased with this stereo unit upgrade.
Pros: - Great value - Uncluttered, easy-to-use touchscreen UI
Cons: - No volume knob for rapid volume adjustments. - Left sidebar icon symbols have indicator lights beside them, but the symbols themselves could be difficult to see at night - Slightly less power than other stereos if you want a sound system that'll wake up the entire neighborhood. - No AutoLink support if you want to swap radio into a newer vehicle

So far I really like this JVC. My only reservation when buying was no volume knob. I dislike having to push a screen to lower or raise the volume when I am driving. A knob is so much easier and less distracting. My saving grace is using the steering wheel volume control. Otherwise I have enjoyed the radio.

Great Radio + Apple Car Play

1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty
This has so far been a great radio! I installed it in my 1999 F-250 SD pickup to replace the OEM radio that finally died. I had replaced the speakers a couple of years ago with upgraded Polk speakers, and it sounds great. Installation was pretty easy, except that I did have to cut the dash upper and lower horizontal opening a little bigger. There was a molded lip in the dash that the OEM radio rested on that I had to remove. I wish that the installation adapter (3rd party, not part of the radio) allowed me to remove the radio after the fact. I'm not sure how I'd be able to remove the radio if I ever needed to. The installation instructions with the 3rd party adapter said the only way is to remove the dash. If I ever need to, I'll see what I can do short of removing the dash :) The radio is really short, especially compared to the OEM radio, so plenty of room behind it for the wiring harness. To minimize issues, I connected the harnesses using a western union splice for each wire and soldered them, with a piece of heat shrink tubing over each wire. The radio paired with my Apple 6s iPhone easily and quickly. The Apple Car Play works flawlessly, and I look forward to the navigation function which, other than being a pretty good radio, was what I really wanted. The FM reception seems to be pretty sensitive, and picked up some stations that the original radio didnt. I listen to mostly FM, so didnt try the AM radio yet, but suspect it will be fine too.
Pros: Great Radio. Apple integration is smooth. Easy to connect. Love the apple car play integration, especially navigation.
Cons: The radio is slightly taller than the OEM, meaning you have to modify the dash slightly. The frame that came with the radio that would have made it removable is WAY TOO tall and I had to use a separate 3rd party adapter. The 3rd party adapter worked well, but does not allow you to remove the radio afterward without removing the entire dash.

Overall it's a good value for its feature set. The interface is easy to get through. A couple of installation (wiring) issues had me calling for help and were quickly resolved. My first experience changing out a radio head unit in a modern car, so I learned a lot.

2018 Honda Civic Sport
I drive a 2018 honda civic sport hatchback. Bought the JVC KW-m560BT, Axxess XSVI-1731-NAV wiring harness, the Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel adapter, and the Metra antenna and Metra dash kit. The JVC unit is decent. Unit is a little slow when switching sources, expect several seconds between changes, not a big deal if you live on bluetooth or Apple car play. The usb cable of the back of the unit is plenty long to go where ever you need it, but it does not allow for any meaningful way to permanently mount it. Probably drill a couple of holes under the dash and use zipties to mostly secure it, not very custom though. Per other users comments, the install instructions that come with the harnesses are not the best. Here's my advice, start with the easy connections and work your way back - NAVI harness speaker wires to the head unit speakers, then antenna. Almost all connections are a one-to-one with exception of ground (black) and power(red), so save those for last. Here are the "gotchas" that require better clarification: If you buy the SW adapter, it connects on the NAVI harness labeled SW. The other black box that came with the NAVI goes on the unlabeled harness. For my JVC and Honda I used the E2 connector NOT the E1. For the SW controller I actually set it for Kenwood and NOT JVC for best results. The backup camera will default to fisheye. On the Honda wiring harness you can ground pins 31 & 32 to force normal view. HOWEVER, the backup cam still looks crappy in this unit.
Pros: nice screen, good touch control, apple car play works great, mostly plug and play
Cons: backup camera is hit or miss, you will lose option to change view, not a great way to date to make it stable.

2017 Subaru Crosstrek
Very good unit for the money, sounds good in a 2017 Subaru Crosstrek with Infinity Kappa speakers in their stock locations. It has all of the options for future expansion I needed including Subwoofer RCA out with built in crossover, crossovers for front and rear speakers, backup camera in, A/V in, microphone in, Front and Rear RCA out. Easy to use interface that kept my backup camera and steering wheel controls when I ordered the installation package to go along with it. Instructions were fairly clear and Crutchfield's wiring guide was indispensable when assembling the wiring harness. My only "issue" was I couldn't get the controller programmed and it took a call to customer service (on a Sunday) where I got top notch help within five minutes and my problem solved in 10. I wasn't holding the program button long enough. Thanks Crutchfield!

Good for the price. The back up camera doesn't display full screen in a 2016 Honda Civic but the built in equalizer makes up fore that. Touch screen is very responsive. But the radio does go into safe mode way to easy when trying to use a crossover for your amp. So I just use the built in subwoofer wire on the radio now.
Pros: Great sound and controll of each speaker. It maid my door speakers sound so much better. Night and day with stock radio. Catches radio stations better than my stock radio also. 2016 Honda Civic Sadan.
Cons: Back up camera not a full display with my stock camera. You have to buy a aftermarket programmer for your steering wheel controls.

JVC customer service is excellent. I called with a couple issues, they answered the phone within 60 seconds and was quickly able to help me find the features I needed. I will not hesitate to buy a JVC stereo in the future.
Pros: Excellent sound, excellent value. Works great. So far, no issues with Android auto or bluetooth connectivity.
Cons: I might consider a unit with a volume dial or remote if your vehicle doesn't have steering wheel controls. Using the touch screen is difficult and not advisable when driving.

Just installed this unit in a 2009 Silverado to replace the original which was slowly losing functions. Install went smoothly with the prewired harness. The reduced size was appreciated which provided room for the 3 interface modules needed for the install. The wire for the bluetooth mic was about 12 inches short to route to the mirror location. I paired this unit with the Sirius module and kept the factory shark fin antenna.

Overall a very nice piece. Sound is good, with an expansive equalizer. The display layout isn't customizable, which would be a nice touch (maybe too nice at this price point?). Some controls are a little confusing or hard to find as stated by others. Still, be patient and you're good. Boot up time is as expected. Once up and running it's fast and has a very responsive screen. The biggest detraction from this being a 5-star unit is the most common gripe in many reviews: the volume controls. They really are not good. Unsafe to use while driving. If you have steering wheel controls, you'll love this head unit. If you don't, very seriously opt for one with buttons or a knob.

I really loved this, instructions were understandable and easy to install. I'm a beginner, and watched all the videos to know what to expect. I had connected the blue wire that was originally taped off and away, and my Toyota antenna when up, which I don't normally use and couldn't turn off/put down. I called customer service and help direct me to disconnect that blue wire, it worked! It's not in my way now while driving and I don't have to worry about it during a car wash. I definitely will recommend this site and product.

Just what was needed to upgrade my 2011 Outback. Sound is great, tuner works well, same stations are available, no problem with antenna. Best features are Bluetooth and Apple Carplay; both work well. I cut a hole in the glove box for the USB connector. added a Boyo backup camera which was not difficult to install but took some time. YouTube videos were useful. The $25 custom harness made the installation easier. That said it was important to read all the instructions several times as important steps were on small bits of paper included in packaging. The backup camera is great. I made the mistake of cutting the reverse image wire before checking the picture and had to reconnect the wires as the default view was the way to go. Thank you,Crutchfield!

Before purchase, I knew about, and don't mind that Android Auto only works when connected to a USB cable. I would definitely buy this unit again. I have the skills to wire the harness to the auto but opted to pay for the ReadyHarness which made the install plug and play. I highly recommend that.

The receiver is great, but really what I want to say is that Crutchfield customer service is simply unbelievable. I rarely leave reviews, but that's the reason for this one. Before the sale, Crutchfield gave me incredibly great and efficient advice that helped me choose what to buy, including an appropriate adapter kit for my car. During installation I called them several times for advice on the installation and again, they were quick to answer and were extremely informative. All around amazing. Thank you.
Pros: Receiver seems great.
Cons: I strongly prefer a dial for tuning and for volume, rather than the + and - digital controls it has. Dials are vastly underrated as a user interface. But the price was right so I'm not complaining.

As a real amateur, ALONZO was a real savior for me ! My Kenwood KW-560 fit my Duramax perfectly, pre-spliced wires perfect. Completed in a Saturday morning !! USB cord to IPhone better than Bluetooth for me! Most time spent thinking thru connections , since I did not have any steering wheel controls one of the junctions not needed and just zip tie up behind the unit! Cap off loose wires !

For the price this is an excellent radio. It does not have all the bells and whistles but I did not expect it to. Controls are a bit hard to work while driving, especially at night. Sound quality is good and installation was straight forward with the premade wiring harness. I added a backup camera which is nice, but I hate the active lines so I have to climb back under the truck and cut that line which they mark for you. Depending on how you wire you can use the radio to check your trailer or just behind you while driving without being in reverse which I like but was told this will shorten the camera life. Got my order in 2 days and as always Crutchfield support was great when I called them twice with questions during the installation. Have purchased from them before and will again. If you like fixing things and have never installed a radio, it is pretty straightforward once you start and knowing you have pros at Crutchfield to give you support is very reassuring. This is my 2nd full install of a radio, speakers and backup camera from these guys!

It is a nice entry-level radio for the price. I wish it had an additional usb port so you can connect your phone and USB stick at the same time. The settings and user interface need some improvements. Ex. Turning the clock off while watching videos, fast forwarding/rewinding of files could be better, viewing the back camera to adjust guidelines, ability to adjust Android auto sound levels.

I recently purchased and installed a JVC-M560BT in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler Extended. The blue tooth had gone out on the factory unit and I really wanted Apple play. I called Crutchfield and was immediately connected with Tina who very helpful in picking out the radio and accesories I would need to install the radio. She gave me link that made the order process a snap and also a link to contact her directly with any questions that came up after the order. The unit was delivered two days after the order was placed and I was able to contact Tina with some questions that had come up and get answers immediately. The installation was moderately complex in that I had an after market backup camera and some minor cutting of the mounting hole was required. JT talked me through all problems with installation. The phone tech support is incredible. The job took me about 4 hours spread over two days. The result was fantastic. The radio looks great and the blue tooth and Apple play work great. Steering wheel controls are maintained and the backup camera integrated without a problem. I would recommend this mod for any Wrangler owner looking for Apple play and it is supposed to work for Android phones as well. I would also like to give a shout out to people who run Crutchfield. Communication for the order and installation process was flawless. No long wait times and knowledgeable people speaking native english made the experience pleasant. Good job, thanks to the suppor

Great unit

Overall I'm very satisfied with this unit. My main complaint is that is doesn't go dim enough for me while driving at night. Others may not be bothered by it as I know my eyes are more light sensitive than some. I get by by setting the display to a blank screen and just the blue lights on the side are showing. CarPlay functions well. Sound quality is better than my factory unit. Also in really bright sunlight the display is a little difficult to see but usable. The clock kept changing time on me but I did a factory reset and that seemed to fix it. Been holding correct time for days. Can't say enough positive about Crutchfield customer service! They were always available by phone or chat as I had several questions during the install process.

Crutchfield tech folks were most patient and accomodating. This was a pretty big task and I needed there advice serveral times. Although I was a bit frustrating with the complexity of the project, they "held my hand" until all systems were up and running. Happy customer. UPDATED 5/8/23: Much of my previous rating was for Crutchfield tech, which is very good. This is for the JVC itself. In just the first two months the JVC would not come on. Tech explained how to reset it and it was fine. Then it happened again a month later. Then on 5/8/2023 (today) my iPhone would not connect, so no carPlay which I use every drive. I had trouble connecting with Tech support, so I figured, might as well try reset. Then it did connect. However each time you reset the JVC, all your configurations...time, date, fader, equalizer and radio stations evaporate and must be reset too - that's tedious, and I suspect that will be the case nearly every month.

Hard to use volume controls

Giving only 3 stars simply because the "buttons" for volume etc are terrible. At night all you get is a blue dot, no indication of which is which. Volume is not at the top or buttom but more or less in the middle so easy to miss in the dark with no up or down arrow lit up. Those volume controls are also finicky to say the least. Its easy to miss the mark and nothing happens and you find yourself tapping all around it. While driving I found this extremely annoying and dangerous. The overall screen asthetic is pretty boring. We're exchanging this for something with more usable volume controls. I have the Alpine w650 in my Sequoia and the user controls are spot on and easy to find and use.

2007 Toyota 4Runner
Love the radio so far, and love love the customer service even more. I would say, installing this in my wife's '07 4Runner was more challenging than I expected, and I've done a few of these. A lot of reviewers are saying install is "simple" - I disagree. If you're mechanically inclined, and maybe have done other installs, then maybe it's simple. But this is not a job for the faint of heart. You need to be comfortable with disassembling your console (yanking on things, basically able to rip them apart w/o breaking them), AND you need to be pretty good at figuring out what to do with things like extra wires and slightly incomplete instructions, not to mention figuring out how to get it all back together now that you've ripped it apart and maybe the non-OEM fit isn't QUITE perfect. Crutchfield does make it MUCH simpler - had to call support twice (YouTube also helpful). Finally got it all assembled and connected and there was NO sound. A 3rd call to Crutchfield, very helpful tech was able to walk me thru and determine that both the stereo AND the interface had to be replaced. BUT part of the diagnosis involved me knowing how to use the voltmeter I also happened to have. I just think this is beyond the scope of what most people would be able to tackle. But kudos to Crutchfield - quickly replaced everything, no charge. Crutchfield is a definite go-to for DIYer's.

Really Nice Stereo

The only negatives I have with the stereo is that at night it's hard to see the buttons (such as function, volume, etc.) and I wish that it wasn't just the blue lines. The other negative is that the screen resolution isn't particularly the best but other than that it is a fantastic stereo! I was really shocked at how it made my stock speakers sound (I installed it in a 2003 Toyota Camry). The user interface is nice, the apple CarPlay and android auto work really well, the 13 band EQ also works incredibly well and I highly recommend this stereo if you want a better sound to come out of your speakers without spending the money to upgrade your speakers.

2008 Jeep Wrangler
Great unit. This JVC saved me tons of money for my daughter's Wrangler. I bought everything that it suggested and had Crutchfield pre-wire it for me. This made my life simple and install was super easy. I added a backup camera, and when I got confused, I called customer service. Like usual, they were totally awesome and helped me in a snap! I can't enough about their free lifetime support; nobody else compares! The pre-wiring was such a huge deal, I'm not sure I could have completed this without their awesome services. If you are looking for a great receiver that offers Apple Play while charging your phone, this one's it. It was so shallow, it made it simple to tuck away all the wires without cramming my hand into the back. Great touch screen with easy Car Play. No kidding, I'm not a mechanic but the install was easy.

2010 Honda Civic
This is my first screen stereo, and just set it up with my dad today in my 2010 Honda Civic coupe. So far works great!!! Had no issues figuring out how to use it. The screen quality is nice and you can adjust brightness. The buttons respond good. Lots of ways to customize the sound. Honestly worth the buy and more affordable than the pricier kinds. Will be back in a few months to let y'all know if it's still going strong!

I definitely recommend this stereo! It works great, has a lot of cool features, and overall its just awesome. It is my first aftermarket stereo, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. But I can definitely say that it's better than any stereo I've ever seen / used in a vehicle.

Very clean head unit! Comes with Apple Play and Android support. The radio has many great built in features and even without an amp brings the speakers to life.
