Absolutely Stunning
Anthony from LOWER LAKE, CA on 2/2/2025

These speakers punch way above their weight class. For the price I was expecting something good but my expectations were blown out of the water. They have range all the way down into the high sub-bass and are clear into the highs as well. I do not have an amp setup so these are coming straight from my BOSS Elite head unit and I wouldn't even reccomend spending the money for an amp. I am running 4 of these in my 2002 Ford Explorer - 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. The cabin is really open which caused my previous Kenwood speakers to sound very muddy and washed out but these don't seem to have a problem with the space. I would expect this class of sound quality to come out of $400 speakers, not for this price. It is on par with the harmon/kardon system in my 2018 BMW X4. Do not pass on these!

William from Bakersfield, CA on 9/16/2024
2006 Ford F-150
These speakers fit in my stock locations with only two tabs needing removed to fit in the front doors. No mods were needed for the rear. The sound quality is amazing considering I'm still using the factory stereo (for the moment). The highs, midrange, and bass are far superior to the factory speakers. There is far more "depth" to the sound quality. These do take more power than a factory speaker, but your factory radio has enough to drive them at "normal" people levels. That said, my Alpine KTP-445U Power Pack arrives today! While these speakers will handle more than this amp can put out, it is enough for me. It will add plenty of punch at the levels I will be listening to while driving. If you want serious bass, you will of course need subs. But for an old geezer like me, it's the clarity I want these days. These deliver quite well on that end!!!! Crutchfield delivered these speakers quickly, and Crutchfield delivered them with adapters that are plug and play with the factory harness!
Pros: Great Sound. Great Price. Fast Shipping. Harness wiring adapters via Crutchfield
Cons: None!

Great value and plenty of clear sound
Tyler from Candler, NC on 1/7/2024
1998 Ford F-150
I have purchased a set of 4 6.5" DB series before to go on my parent's pontoon and I was really impressed with the sound quality. I figured I'd give them a shot in my 98 ext cab f150. I just got the front two and they are paired with a kenwood kdc382bt head unit. Once you get the settings dialed in they don't sound too bad in the 5x7/6x8 version. I feel like the 6.5s had more bass handling ability than these but they are still plenty for what I *need*. I will be supplementing some low end with a powered sub and probably getting the rear set of speakers as well. Highs and mids are crisp and low mids are great and do not get muddy. For the price these can't be beat in my opinion.
Pros: Mids, highs, price
Cons: Not a super powerful low end but acceptable below 100hz

I would recommend purchasing a sound system from Crutchfield for anyone who wants an excellent sound system. My wife wanted a Bluetooth radio in our 1995 F-150. So I shopped online and found Crutchfield. I purchased the radio and it went in flawlessly. It sounded better that the original and I thought I can make this better. So I chatted with Eugene at Crutchfield to find the speakers that would match our new radio and the sound is now amazing. I replaced all four speakers. Thank you Eugene and thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: I did it my self with the instructions given. Easy DIY.
Cons: Now I wonder what would it sound like if I spent more?

um yeah
Erik from Brooklyn Park, MN on 10/2/2023
2004 Ford Focus ZX3
I bought these speakers because they have higher efficiency, over 90dB. I bought these because they go down to 35 Hz. They are Polk Audio. Which means their specifications are close to being accurate in real life. So the chances of them sounding as good and as loud as the OEM Ford Focus ZX3 speakers is pretty good. The stock Focus speakers are pretty good, for real. Still are after 20 years. These have nice bass. Which is not surprising since they go down to 35 Hz and are Polk Audio. They do go a little lower than the OEM speakers. I can hear it and feel it. So yeah, I can confirm these have bass. Perhaps not enough bass for the subwoofer children. They are efficient and sound good powered by the glitchy 20 year old head unit and OEM wiring. I can hear more of the note detail in the music. I look forward to how good these sound with a new head unit and a better amplifier. These speakers are good enough to merit the extra expense and labor of using Soundskin sound damping in the vehicle. I installed the Soundskin four speaker kit. It goes between the speaker frame and the metal car body. Which help with buzzing and sound reflection. I did not need the Soundskin Rings revision 3. The Polk speakers already have a ring on the speaker face to direct the sound. If I need to eliminate buzzing betweeen the speaker face and interior panel, they may be helpful in this regard. Crutchfield customer service and wiring kits are always appre
Pros: $100 a pair. Crutchfield database. Crutchfield customer service. Crutchfield included wiring for make and model. Polk Audio performance. Make my commute seem shorter. Do not care about bad drivers as much.
Cons: Do not actually shorten commute. More likely to miss my exit while enjoying music. Do not increase fuel economy.

Joel from Spring Grove, PA on 7/23/2023

These Polks are fantastic. Powering them with a Kenwood X802-5 channel amp. They have great mids and highs. My head unit is a Boss BE920WCPA and am using the equalizer on the head unit. I have installed sound butyl mat inside my doors and in the trunk on the sheet metal interior. Ive played Ratt, Aldo Nova, Beastie Boys, Vanilla ice, Stevie Nicks, Van Halen, Kool and The Gang, and Queensryche just to name a few. I also have a 12" Infinity Sub to balance the system out. I used 14 gauge speaker wire, and good RCAs. This system is installed in a 2000 Mustang GT, I looked at buying $200 plus speakers instead of the Polks. I am extremely pleased with the sound quality of the Polks and am glad I did not spend more $. I would say you will need a good sub to get the bass push.
Pros: They just sound so dang good!
Cons: No cons

After installing them and pairing them to a Kicker 4 channel amp, these far exceeded my expectations. Clear and detailed highs, with good presence. Fantastic midrange sounding very open and clear. Nice inexpensive upgrade from factory speakers.
Mark from Punta Gorda, FL on 4/14/2023
2010 Ford Escape
These speakers were purchased to replace the 13 year old factory speakers in both the front and rear passenger locations. I already replaced my factory head unit with the Boss BE7ACP. It was an inexpensive upgrade that woke up the audio in the car. Compared to the factory speakers, the sound is tighter and there's better separation of the frequency bands. Meaning, I can hear more of the audio mix and instruments and background vocals that with the factory speakers got mashed down into a mix of sounds that often wasn't pleasant. Finally, I can crank the volume to where it's uncomfortably loud without any perceived distortion. Very nice upgrade from factory speakers that fit right in with no adapters or spacers.
Pros: Direct fit. Inexpensive. Nice tight bass and audio.

Great bang for the buck!
Ryan from NORTHAMPTON, PA on 4/2/2023
2004 Lincoln Town Car
Great bang for the buck speakers! I had Polk DB speakers in my previous car and was very happy with their performance. When it came time to upgrade the speakers on a 2004 Lincoln Town Car, I carefully weighed every option available, diving deep into the specifications for each speaker. Ultimately, I chose the Polk's due to my familiarity with them, the price-to-performance ratio, and the number of reviews. I highly recommend using a sound-deadening product ("Boom Mat") when installing your new speakers. The "Boom Mat" made my car quieter by reducing road noise and improving overall sound.

And they don't I wish I would have looked more into them, I wanted something easy to replace so I didn't have to do any modifications as I am disabled used the plug adapters which are great. But the old speakers have more depth and bass then the new Polk speakers... I did not want to add a power amp!!! I used to do a lot more research when I'm doing s*** like this and I didn't and it's my fault please do your research people definitely need an app with these speakers they will not just replace your old speakers and sound good

Scott from Aurora, CO on 4/2/2022

Amazing sound from the DB572 speakers! I wish I had replaced the factory speakers in my Town Car years ago. The only negative is the wire connectors on the back are very fragile and it is important to support the backing board with the flat edge of a screwdriver as you push the connectors on or the soldered wires will be damaged.
Pros: Durable polymer cone will last a long time in the adverse conditions of the door well.
Cons: Wire connectors are not supported and poorly placed.

Pros: Full range sound. Anyone who said the bass response is not good has hearing problems. Installed these on 2013 Ford F-150 (fronts and backs) and they sounded great. Just installed a Clarion 4-channel power amp and the body is outstanding. The total sound experience has upped my truck's audio.
Cons: No cons. Have used Polks in auto, outdoor and studio settings with nothing but great results.

David from Elizabeth City on 10/21/2021

If you only like treble and upper midrange, these are your speakers. After 400-500Hz these speakers are non-existent. No mid-bass, no bass...at least not at a discernable db. I can hear the cone rattling in my door but no sound is produced. These are only slightly better than the Ford factory speakers becasue of their 2-20kHz performance. The Polk factory frequency response specifications lie terribly - wish I would have bought Kenwoods or something. Horrible sound...
Pros: Treble, presence and brilliance
Cons: Midrange, Mid-bass, Bass, volume output

Good, not great
KEN from Albuquerque on 8/2/2021
2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty
The left front door speaker was going out on my 2008 Ford F250 SD pickup. I chose these speakers after looking at the reviews. I replaced both front door speakers in my truck. The original speakers had foam edging around the rear and a grill cover on the front. These do not have grill covers. Others had recommended using the original grill covers but they did not fit. I added some foam around the back of the speaker using some thin foam weather stripping. This is apparently to help avoid vibration noise. Since there were no grill covers, I installed them without them. The installation was easy, especially with the wire kit that came with the speakers. The reason I only gave these a 3 rating is because I expected the sound to be much better than the stock speakers. The sound is a bit better, but nowhere near where I thought they'd be. I don't "crank my stereo up" like some here probably do, so these speakers will do what I need them to and they were reasonably priced...
Pros: Easy to install and fast shipping
Cons: Not the sound I expected

These speakers sound great In my 2013 Ford F150 XLT. The fit is perfect. There are YouTube videos available to help you with removing the door panel. I ended up buying a $10 hook and pick set from Harbor freight in order to remove the Plastic piece behind the door handle the covered one of the bolts that needed to be removed. The tools offered through Crutchfield were not useable for this job. The Reason for replacement why is that one of the OE speakers worked only intermittently and overall they sounded tinny. I will definitely buy poker again.

It has the same sound as the '70s

1997 Mercury Tracer
I had third party speakers already, but when I got the Jensen VX4014 Car Play 1U DVD player, it was a little bit more powerful, though no powerhouse. I wanted a little more bass in my music, and the consultant said, "How about Polk." I loved them in my stereo in the '70s, and these have something of that same mellow sound I remember. A bit more bass, better treble too. Sounds like Polk. That's okay by me.
Pros: Not a booming bass, but enough to hear it. Took me two minutes to install.
Cons: It's in an old junk heap of a '97 Merc Tracer. But the sounds make it feel like a better car.

Got these speakers in no time thanks to super fast processing and shipping. And thanks to the detailed instruction guide, I had the old speakers out and these installed in under thirty minutes. The sound is incredible compared to the stock speakers. I had recently changed the dash unit in my 2001 Ford F-150 and thought the quality of the audio improved dramatically. But after noticing some mudiness when playing heavier music, I decided to start look for replacements. These speakers are crystal clear and to me, have a broad dynamic range. And for the money, I can't imagine finding another pair that would impress me more.
Pros: Clarity of highs, mods that cut through, and bass that kicks

Not As Efficient As OEM, But Otherwise Sound Great
Crutchfield customer from Kent, WA on 2/16/2021
2004 Ford F-150
The upgrade from OEM is like upgrading from an efficient pair of 1970's walnut boxes with big woofers to some European skinny towers. Although the sound quality is much better, they need more muscle to get that sound to your ears. Don't count on the amp built into the head unit to push these speakers. They woke up nicely with a 65 watt amp pushing them.
Pros: Clean bass, nice highs. Make OEM sound like your mom's old console.
Cons: Need mire than head unit wattage.

Great sounding speakers. The treble is prominent and very good. Overall very clear and detailed speakers. Only reason for 4 stars is I think they are a little lacking in bass. I had in system with a sub tho and sounded fantastic. Hooked up to aftermarket head unit with no amp.
Pros: Clear detailed sound
Cons: Could maybe have more low end

Good budget speaker

2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty
I was originally going to go with something different; however, after talking to Crutchfield advisors this speaker was recommended. I'm glad I wound up going with this speaker. I have this paired with a small KTA-450 amplifier. These speakers do not have a lot of bass, but I really need to add a subwoofer, so I do not really blame the speaker for this. The are very loud when paired with an amplifier. It was a huge upgrade over stock - I replaced all 4 speakers in my F-250 with these. If you're looking for a budget speaker, these are a good option.
Pros: Loud! Budget friendly
Cons: Not as much bass as I hoped for, but still good.

Great speakers for 5 x 7s
Crutchfield customer from San Antonio, TX on 7/2/2020
1966 Ford Mustang
Would buy again. I agree with other reviews that bass is not these speakers strong point, but overall performance near excellent. Knew about bass going in...was very pleasantly surprized with the mid and high ranges. Space limitations in early Mustangs and my goal of period-like appearance drove my selection. 50s & 60s pop music sounds absolutely great, but there is not much bass until the Jimi Hendrix/Steppenwolf period begins. Plan to eventually add a 6 x 8 woofer to boost the bass. Definitely use a Dynamat type product under the package tray and the vertical body panels behind the rear seat back. Quality is excellent. As with any speaker terminal, be gentle. I used dab of silicon grease to assist. Matched with RetroSound Detroit dash unit and JVC 5 1/2 kick panel speakers.
Pros: High quality for good price. Great mid and high ranges.
Cons: Light on bass, but is a 5 x 7.

One of the best investments I ever made!
Crutchfield customer from Arvada, CO on 7/1/2020
2011 Ford Escape
I know changing out your vehicle's speakers can make the biggest impact in the sound quality of your system and these speakers did not disappoint! To begin I recently bought a 2011 SUV. It has the vehicle manufacturer's premium sound system. It sounded pretty good for a factory system. I have spent a good part of my life listening to speakers , both home and car. I think I have a pretty good idea what good or bad speakers sound like. The speakers that came with the car did sound pretty good, but it didn't quite have the sound quality that I wanted. I installed the Polk speakers. The master installation guide that Crutchfield sent for my vehicle and the speaker wiring harnesses made it a snap for the installation. Once installed I took a good listen to them. WOW! What a difference these speakers made to what I was listening to! The music just came to life! There was more detail and clarity to the music! I could listen to these speakers for hours! I now find myself taking the long way home just so I can listen to the speakers a little longer! Just don't tell my wife why it takes me longer to get home! I highly recommend these speakers!!!

Nice upgrade from factory
Angel from Newark, OH on 5/19/2020
2012 Ford Mustang
I purchased 4 of these speakers to replace the door and rear deck speakers in my 2012 Mustang GT. The stock speakers were so cheap it was unbelievable! They were as light as a feather and just cheap. These are solid, nice quality replacements. The issue I had in all 4 locations however was with the connectors on the speakers. These speakers have the connections sticking out of the side. The ONLY way I could get them to fit was to bend the connectors 90 degrees, which was very risky considering how fragile they are. In the back, I had to do the same thing plus they are about 1/4 taller than the stock speakers. This may be an issue when I replace the top deck panel. Also, the instructions provided by Crutchfield for rear speaker removal is not correct for this car. To do it right, the rear seat and side panels- upper and lower should be removed. There are 2 practically inaccessible retaining clips on the far right and left sides. Rather than disassemble the entire rear of the car, I purposely reached in from the side and broke the far clips to get the top deck panel off. It shouldn't make a difference reassembling it because the side panels will hold it down just fine. The sound quality is FAR better than before as I had no high end sound before. One other issue I had was with the provided speaker wire adapters. The terminal connectors take far too much effore to slip on. I had to take a jeweler's screwdriver and pry them open a little bit just to get them on.
Pros: Solid, quality feel, good materials in construction, nice even sound
Cons: Connections stick out too far on the side making it an issue on fitment, provided speaker connector adapters don't slip on easily at all on a very fragile connection

Great Speakers!
Anthony from RONALD, WA on 5/13/2020

Finally upgraded the stock speakers that were paired to a Clarion NZ503 in dash navigation system (also from Crutchfield) I installed last year in our motorhome. The stock speakers were not up to the capabilities of the Clarion unit and needed to be upgraded. I can honestly say the difference was huge! The Clarion unit worked fantastic and fit just like Crutchfield said it would and the new Polk speakers also installed like Crutchfield advertised. They added depth and richness to the sound of the entire system!
Pros: Installed just like advertized and installation kit made it plug and play!
Cons: Nothing bad to say about the speakers or installation kit.

2000 F-150 Regular Cab Install (Front and Rears)
Todd from UNITYVILLE, PA on 5/5/2020
2000 Ford F-150
Received my order today. Front door speakers were a breeze (except for the speaker wire adapters supplied by CF). The rears, different story! These are a PIA to get too (not impossible by any means). Just time consuming. Be prepared to get some of those plastic push in fasteners that ford used. Anyway, the backs do not fit out of the box... First connect the speaker wires. You will notice they are pointing away from the speaker at an angle. CAREFULLY push the speaker connection board until the wires are pointing straight back. Its not going to take a lot. Mount the speakers with the speaker connections to the rear of the cab. If you do the above, the back speakers also fit perfectly. I have all 4 speakers hooked up to the stock HU (awaiting one more part from another supplier to install my new HU). But the sound is absolutely amazing! Good amount of bass coming from the rear speakers. I was skeptical at the price... I was wrong!

Crutchfield customer from Soddy Daisy, TN on 4/11/2020
These speakers blew me away with the sound quality they provide. I wasn't expecting such a full sound from a 5x7! The silk some tweeter ensures that the highs are clear but not harsh and the woofer surrounding it provides good bass that doesn't sound bloated or lacking. I haven't experienced any distortion when turning them up and they were very easy to install in my vehicle (2014 ford edge sport w/ Sony sound system). A massive upgrade at a not so massive price!
Pros: Clear and not harsh Warm full sound Easy install
Cons: Very minor con, but I wish they made these in a 6x8 to be the exact factory size I needed

Poor service and poor speakers

2014 Ford F-150 FX4
Installed these in a 2014 F-150 that has a factory stereo and an aftermarket small (45 Watt) amp. All four speakers blew in 6 months. Yeah I like it loud but I expected MUCH more from Polk. Contacted Crutchfield 2 weeks after warranty had expired and was told there was nothing they could do. My bad for not taking care of it sooner but two weeks out of warranty and nothing they could do? Not impressed with that level of customer service either. They did sound good when they worked.
Pros: sounded ok while they lasted
Cons: only lasted a couple months before they were ll blown

1996 Ford F Series
I ordered these Polk DB 5x7 speakers to fit my 1996 Ford Eddie Bauer Edition short-bed. They are a part of a complete audio system overhaul I had to make as the factory radio experienced complete failure of its FM receiver. I must say that these speakers are some of the best sounding ones I have ever heard in a vehicle, and I have had a good number of systems in different cars and trucks over my lifetime. I can discern things in the music I've listened to for years that I could not hear before; all good things! Their price is excellent and their quality is topnotch. I highly recommend them.
Pros: Price. Quality. Fit.

Initially, I replaced my factory speakers with 2 pairs of these. They sounded cleaner, but was lacking the nice low end I was hoping for (factory speakers sounded more full comparatively). After replacing the factory head unit with something with more power, the speakers really opened up and they hit hard. I'm very impressed. They get very loud and still sound clean and bring the bass I was looking for.

Great speakers even without amp
Pros: Good full-range coverage. I installed 2 in front doors of 2011 F150 to replace (bad) stock. I do not have an amp, so only power is from a new Apline head-unit. They sound great. Pretty good low-end, but the best part is they very clear without being "tinny" or weighted too high. The built in crossover works well for the tweeter. I listen to a lot of spoken word in the truck, and these work great. Certainly not going to make the truck bounce, but that isn't what I needed.
Cons: None - great speakers!

Dave from Dillsburg, PA on 9/8/2019

These certainly aren't terrible speakers, but they disappointed me. The stock F150 rear speakers they replaced (one was blown) are fuller sounding and louder. Maybe would be better with an amp, but that would defeat the purose of having an economical improvement over stock. There is less distortion than factory, but I can buy a lot of Ford speakers at the dealer for the price of these.
Pros: Clear highs, less distortion
Cons: Weak wire connector board lacking bass

I can't imagine spending hundreds more on other more expensive "premium" brands when these sound like this! I'm driving these speakers with the built-in power of an upgraded Kenwood head unit. 2011 Ford Ranger
My family and I live on a farm. Our 2011 Ford Ranger is our do it all truck. It is a daily driver while also being the farm work truck. Doing farm work such as mucking a field, you need tunes. These Polk speakers paired with in door baffles and the Kenwood Excelon head unit simply rock. These speakers sound very nice on music from oldies to 80s/90s country to rock to 80s rap. These speakers provide clean, detailed, and powerful sound. One reason that I chose these speakers is because they are easy to piwer with their 91DB sensitivity. We work outdoors and sometimes a rain shower or a misty day happens. These speakers can handle getting a little wet. This allows us to have the doors open and jam while working. These speakers also have passive crossover components soldered in. This keeps the bass out of the tweeters and the highs from going to the woofer. I am very pleased with these speakers. They are a great value for the money.
Pros: High quality sound Good value for the money Easy to power from an aftermarket head unit Amp can be added for even better sound quality Water resistant for myuse

2013 Ford F-150 FX4
Great speakers, regardless of price! Although getting them on sale was a bonus!! Install on my 2013 F150 was more simple than the instructions outlined as was provided by Crutchfield. I replaced all four door-speakers in under 90 minutes. The wiring harnesses provided made the process even easier. The sound from these speakers is impressive, particularly at this price point. I have them paired with the stock radio and no other add-ons such as sub-woofer or amp. That being said, the highs are crisp and the bass is also impressive without a subwoofer. If anyone is looking for a quality set of speakers that won't break the bank at all, these are perfect. I highly recommend these!!
Pros: Crisp highs, good bass. Easy install with wiring harness.

Bought these to replace stock front door speakers due to one blowing out. Considerable improvement compared to the stock Ford speakers even while still using the stock Ford stereo. Pros: -Price -Build quality -Mids -Highs -Built in crossover -Quality somewhat comparable to more expensive speakers
Cons: -Lacks low end, but that's really what a sub is for -No speaker grills, but I didn't need them on my application

awesome sound in my 2010 Ford Escape. replaced factory speakers (my car had no nav, no sync, no sub) and install was very easy and the sound is great. they are light on the low end obviously, since they're not component speakers with a separate tweeter. I came from a Yukon Denali w/ Bose system. I didn't realize what a difference even a small sub can make. So after I installed these, I added a P300-10 powered woofer from Rockford Fosgate, and now my system bumps!!

Dino recommended this pair along with a Kicker set. Was a hard decision but based on my budget I went with this set. WOW, I was blown away. For some small speakers, they definitely sound good. I have a Mustang so space is small. I expected a bigger noise output but I forget that the speakers are working in a small space so they do sound great in my Mustang. They would probably sound different in my 2010 Jeep Patriot due to the bigger space. All in all, I am very happy with these speakers. I listen to mostly Rock and these speakers produce the sound I was looking for. Thanks again Crutchfield for another awesome product.

Crutchfield customer from Owings Mills, MD on 4/14/2019
1993 Ford Ranger
I bought these to replace two really bad speakers in my 93 Ford Ranger XL. This is a bare bones truck - rubber mat flooring, cloth seat, manual everything including the transmission. I use it on weekends to haul stuff from the hardware store and to the dump. I did replace the radio with a digital media receiver last year, but that is the only piece of modernity in it. My son and I popped these speakers into the truck yesterday, and when we were done, we sat in it and put on Comfortably Numb, and it sounded incredible. So incredible that my son and I drove around and listened to the entire Pink Floyd's The Wall double album start to finish. The truck has two more speakers beside and behind the seat, and I will be buying another set of these to complement the front speakers. I can't recommend these highly enough.
Pros: Inexpensive, great sound, instruction sheet from Crutchfield
Cons: I didn't buy them earlier and wasted two years listening to tinny, cracked, factory speakers.

Polk DB 572 worth the price and more!
Crutchfield customer from Bakersfield, CA on 4/2/2019

I purchased these on the recommendation of Doug they're advisor., originally I wanted the punch series, but after talking with Doug and explaining what I was looking for in speaker set up he convinced me to go with the Polks, sounds great especially since they were cheaper and marine rated, which was nice since I wouldn't need to worry about moisture getting on them. Install was quick and easy, but I was a little concerned after the installation, they didn't sound any better than the stock speakers. My initial thought was "well you get what you pay for" , was I wrong, these speakers hit pretty hard for a 5x7, the problem was the new stereo head unit I also installed at the same time wasn't set up yet and it took some time to dial it in, but now that it is I'm a happy camper, no need for a subwoofer, although I may still install one down the road, but for now I'm very pleased with these speakers and all the help from Doug and Dino. On a side note if the advisor suggest something to buy you should jump on it, Doug emailed me a invoice for the speakers early afternoon, by the time I had the chance to sit down and order them that night they were out of stock, bummer. I called the next day and Dino advised me to continue to pay for the order which would fill in about a month ( they don't charge your card until the order is filled) so I placed the order, paid with c.c and waited. Surprise ,Surprise, the next morning I checked and the order was filled and shipped. Great Job !
Pros: Nice quality Great sound Easy install Marine grade Nice bass and great highs
Cons: Wish it was a drop in application, I had to modify the and cut where the speaker bolts to the plastic holder, no biggie just would be nice to drop in and plug and play

I'm really starting to love Crutchfield. I purchased two sets of these speakers Wednesday and received them Friday. I had them delivered to my work so I could have improved sound for the ride home. I was not disappointed. I've had a JVC head unit already and replaced the factory subwoofer and amp with a Kicker 6" sub+passive sub box and a twelve year old JBL two channel amp. The factory door speakers were decent (Pioneer components), but these are a huge upgrade. Crystal clear highs and rich mids. These are my first Polk speakers and I'm impressed.
Pros: Clear, full sound. Perfect fit. Not overpriced.

Had these in for about a week now. Still unsure if I like them. Not sure if I'm going deaf in my left ear or maybe the drivers side front speaker is being blocked by the dash, but I can hear the front passenger speaker loud & clear. I drive a 01 expedition. I have 2 pioneer 10" Ts swx2502 in the trunk for bass, but I'm not convinced that these are just not right for my application OR if I need to power them with an amp. Right now they're powered by an old Kenwood kdc-158u deck that I bought years ago. I'll give it time to break in and decide if I want an amp or to replace them. Overall, easy install. Plug n play thanks to the Metra harness supplied. Just had to tie the extra wiring cuz it got caught in the window. Haha. Rookie mistake. Also, nicely packaged and they look awesome.
Pros: Look great! Easy install.
Cons: Still undecided if the sound is great. Clear, but no bass. I might need an amp to power them.

Put 2 pairs of these into a 2008 F150 SCREW. Had zero issues with getting them in. About 30 min to install all four and that was while drinking my favorite beverage. Replaced the stock speakers and the difference was stark. Amazing tone and quality through lows, mids, and highs. I had planned on getting a sub but honestly with these speakers I don't think I need them. Like always Crutchfield was awesome! Had a question on the front speakers for my truck. Needed to cut off a couple mounting tabs from the speakers with tin snips. Just had to make certain I was right in needing to cut them off.
Pros: Amazing tone through the whole spectrum of sound! Easy installation! Amazing quality for the cost!
Cons: Don't need to buy a sub now really

Replaced 4 stock speakers with the Polk DB 572 in a F150. Still using stock HU but the sound is so much improved. I have just purchased (from Crutchfield) a 4ch amp to make the sound even better since they only get about 15w now and going up to 60w RMS. Which is what they are rated for. The Mids and Highs are good the low end will be limited of course due to size. I will install a slim 10in sub to fill out the bass more and the DB's will be sounding better as well after re-tuning. My amp is arriving today, i will try to follow up.

Barr from Miami, FL on 6/29/2018
I know these are not listed as compatible for the front doors for the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder but, I modified the opening in the Scosche SA69 adapter to accommodate the DB572 speakers. Once mounted on the modified adapters they fit right into the front door openings with no clearance issues. I am glad that I made the effort to make the installation work because the great sound is my reward. I would go through this process and order these speakers again. I know have the Polk DB572 speakers in the front doors and the Polk DB652 speakers in the rear doors. The sound is great.
Pros: Great sound quality in the mids and highs Good bass response that gets better as the speakers break in Excellent Quality construction and materials

You can't go wrong with these speakers. It truly makes the music come to life. With its crystal clear highs you hear all the instruments you were meant to hear. A bonus with these speakers is the fact that you can expand your sound with an amplifier to it. If your looking for clarity these are the ones for you. Add an amplifier to bring out the bass. These speakers are connected to a Sony MEX-GS820. Which really complements the system

Easy installation with the instruction sheets tailored to your specific vehicle! Crutchfield made it easy to find the right size speakers too. Great fit with no modifications. The sound is great and was surprised by the bass produced by these speakers. I had a 2009 Alpine Head Unit that had never been used or previously installed. Being that my car is a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, I never heard the front speakers as they were disconnected from the wiring harness for use with the police radio. Once I figured out the wiring, reconnected the front speakers, installed the head unit, and turned it on, I almost cried. It worked the first time and sounded better than I expected. I spend a lot of time in my car traveling to and from work and extensive trips. Crutchfield help me create my very own oasis! Overall I am happy with my purchase and would highly recommend Polk Audio speakers as an upgrade to your factory speakers.

Pros: Clarity is the most notable thing. I can only judge from the previous junk factory ones ( non0Alpine setup) . Can really handle lowish power at 40watts/channel well. Its also nice the are marine rated so I am not concerned with indoor install.
Cons: Can't speak for installation as I paid to have it done, they said perfect fit.

Bought these as a gift for my brother in law. I installed them. He drives an 02 mustang GT. It does not have the mach stereo system in it. They sound great. They do good on both highs and midrange. The bass was good. One factor the bass was good is the design of the door. Before I put them in the door I tested them and the bass wasn't there but in the Mustang there are some spacers that the speakers fit into. once I set them in there the bass came began to fill nicely. My brother in-law loves them. Texts me about how good they sound. Eventually I am going to buy another pair for the rear. Very pleased with these speakers.
Pros: Ease of install. They fit in the factory speaker slot. No other holes needed to be drilled. No brackets need to be added. Sound great. Brother in-law is ecstatic.

Honest Review
Justin from Oklahoma City, OK on 12/12/2017
2006 Ford F-150
I purchased these to replace the tired OEM drivers in my 2006 F-150. These are better than stock. This especially evident when you compare them side by side simply from a build/materials stand point. Sound wise, they do offer much better highs and less distortion, but they do lack in bass presence for my personal taste. I do not currently run these alongside a subwoofer, and the bass falls a little short. All this said, I did get a discount at my time of purchase, making these extremely affordable, and a great value for the price. I would be disappointed if I had paid full price. These are driven by an Alpine CDA-9813 Head unit which outputs 27x4 RMS and 60x4 Peak.
Pros: Clear Highs Less distortion than OEM Great Price (discounted for Xmas)
Cons: Terminal connection plate could be stiffer. Bass response is less than expected.

I purchased these speakers for the rear position in my extended cab F250SD. Having owned a similar set of Polk speakers in the past, I expected a balanced speaker with significant bass response (for its size). These did not disappoint, despite being powered off the head unit alone (18w/channel RMS). I paired these with a set of Infinity Reference speakers in the front position, also powered only off of the Kenwood head unit. This combination balances well, as the Polk speaker have a deeper response (35Hz) while the Infinity speaker produces crisper, brighter high frequency reproduction. And to everyone at Crutchfield, thanks for all of your support before, during, and after my purchase!
Pros: Value Efficiency Clarity Bass response

I installed two pairs in the factory locations of my 2008 F150. I am running a Pioneer head unit which seems to do an excellent job powering the speakers. The sound upgrade in my truck beat all of my expectations. Good clean tight bass and excellent highs. I listen to mostly classic rock and a lot of Blues Rock. Crutchfield made it easy with the instruction PDF and the wiring harness connectors - it took me longer to gather my tools for the job than the actual install. In total it was less than one hour for all four speakers. The only modification I had to make was to bend two metal tabs on the end of the speakers to fit in the front doors. I did that with my hands, no big deal.

Pros: Nice highs. Adequate bass for my taste.
Cons: Speaker wire solder on the connector gets in the way when connecting the female speaker connector. Needs an amp to really experience their quality. Otherwise they'll only seem like a slight upgrade.

Kudos to Crutchfield for the recommendation on these. I have these in my 2007 Ford Fusion, front and rear doors. Replaced the factory Ford audiophile system speakers. I just by-passed the front tweeters. All I can say is "WOW". They are amazing. Even powered with just a Kenwood DBX23BT pushing 22x4 RMS, they sound great. Clarity is amazing and bass is much more than stock. I am still running factory 6x9's powered subs in the rear deck, so they help round out the sound. Now, waiting for the Alpine amp to really give them some power !! Should be mind blowing. Did end up purchasing at another site for much cheaper - but it was a great recommend from the Crutchfield Team.

Cant go wrong with POLK DB series speakers
Brian from Efland, NC on 9/14/2017
Great speakers. Installed in a Ford E series van, front and rear doors. Speakers are powered by the Pioneer double DIN head unit rated around 10-15 watts RMS per channel and sound great. The highs are much more detailed now and have a crisp sound. The low and mids are also more accurate. The only thing that could make things sounds even better would be to have a 50 to 75 watt RMS amp between the head unit and the speakers. Cant go wrong with Polk DB speakers.
Pros: Excellent sensitivity(Db), great sounding highs as well as low to mid range performance. Marine certified. even at fairly low watts being supplied and high volumes the sound isn't distorted.
Cons: Magic wand has gone missing. Had to buy them.

For what they are, they exceeded expectations. If you are expecting booming bass from 5x7 speakers, just get real. Go buy a sub. If however a group of religious fanatics ripped the speakers out of a brand new car because evidently the radio is the devil, and then your son buys the car used knowing speakers are missing, these speakers will do quite well and sound nice :) However, if you are ever in a situation to buy such a car watch out for EPOXY IN THE RADIO CONNECTORS AND THE WIRING HARNESS CUT OFF!!! After parts of 4 days working on it during my vacation, we found all the problems and repaired/replaced what was needed. Speakers work great. My advice...just say no if the speakers are missing lol.

Installed with factory Sony system in F150. Replaced front and rear door speakers and so far very pleased. I didn't disconnect the a-pillar tweeters or the center dash speaker but it doesn't seem to have a negative effect. Good overall sound and louder than the stock Sony's (I tested with an SPL meter before and after). Would like a little more bass but that's really the fault of the lousy factory sub and the "tuning" that Sony does with the EQ settings. Speakers definitely sounds better with higher quality source material (iPhone or CD vs low res satellite radio). I imagine these speakers would sound awesome with an amp and real sub. I strongly recommend the speakers and Crutchfield support and installation assistance is always top notch.

These speakers work great in my 2010 F-150 Crew Cab!! Installation was super easy with Crutchfield's instruction and the speakers sound great! Right now, they are paired with a powered MTX Thunderform under the backseat of my truck. I am soon looking to run these speakers into an Alpine Power Pack to give them the power they deserve, but they still sound great running off the factory head unit! Would recommend!
Pros: Easy Installation Great Sound

Great speakers, fit the factory speaker locations on my Mazda 3 perfectly. Sound is very balanced. Mix very well with a sub, but also provide a decent amount of low end on their own. I've been very impressed with any Polk product I've purchased, and this product lives up to the reputation.

Did a bunch of shopping around online for replacements to go in my son's 2009 Escape. I had a great result when I used Polk Audio in my 1998 F-150.(they are still working great to this day) These fit perfect in both the front and rear doors, and sound great. Super happy with the amount of resources and detailed information Crutchfield offers the DIY'er for installation. The included "plug and play" wiring harness for each speaker made the installation a breeze!
Pros: good fit, nice mids and highs, good bass for a door speaker.

Nice little speakers, crisp highs, but almost nonexistent lows and barely-there mid ranges. These sound good as long as there is an amplified base speaker added to the mix.
Pros: Crisp highs Low profile
Cons: No lows Mediocre midrange.

I replaced the crappy stock Sony speakers in my 2010 F150 platinum and all I can say is amazing. These really fill the cab with awesome sound. I replaced the stock sub with 2 jl 10w3's and needed to fill the void the stock speakers had. These fit perfect.

Fantastic speakers for the money! As usual, Crutchfield supplied all the instructions and wiring adapters to make it a smooth installation. These speakers are super clear and crisp sounding, and handle the power from my high powered deck perfectly. My only complaint is they sound so good, I want to add a small powered sub now. (you can only get so much bass from a 5x7)

These are solid speakers and a clear upgrade over the faculty speakers in my Miata. I gave them four stars not really because of a clear lack, but because there are better speakers out there, especially in terms of bass response. So these still sound like mid-level speakers. But again, they are far better than the factory ones.

In all fairness, I am not using these speakers for full range sound. I am using them for high and mid range only. While I was waiting for my sub to arrive I had the opportunity to depend on them for a short time as the primary speakers for my truck. After some tweeking of the settings on my deck, I was able to get them sounding pretty good. I give them the full 75 watts RMS power that they need and in their role with the sub installed, all I can say is they perform stellar. High's are crisp and mid's give the depth to round out my system. Excellent choice if you are looking for a factory replacement for a 6"x8" or 5"x7" speaker, mine installed easily in my '07 Ford F150 (took less than 45 minutes for all 4). Definitely would recommend these to someone building a 3 way system or even just looking to improve their stock speakers.

These speakers went in easy, and have a great mid and high range. They sound fantastic, and didn't break the bank. These 5x7(s) sound so much better than the factory 6x8(s). As always, Crutchfield provided everything needed to make the installation go smooth and right the first time. I spend at least 12 hours a week in my car, and the great sound makes the rides a lot shorter.
Pros: Superior sound and great band for your bucks. They play louder than I ever want them to, and sound crisp and clear.
Cons: They do not come with grates. That would be worth a few more dollars.

So I've been reading these reviews and you are all missing something, an AMP! the POLK audio speakers are power hungry, they need wattage to MAKE bass..Without proper power they don't perform like intended..I have experienced this very same situation..Then I put in an AMP and it was a completely different sound..Crisp highs..Perfect midrange..And yes, BASS..LOTS OF IT, CLEAN AND CRISP..So before you go bagging on POLK audio, do your homework, cause when you research and study you will get an "A" in sound quality, ask the Cruthfield guys to hook you up with the proper AMP, satisfaction guaranteed !
Pros: Top quality speakers
Cons: They aren't adding an AMP so you aren't realizing the speakers potential!

I would say these sounded ok. Disappointed in the bass, but the mids and highs nice, even off of deck power. The Bronco placement and mounting leaves much to be desired, and doesn't give the speakers an optimal chance for decent bass, but good for rear fill.
Pros: Sound pretty good when used for rear fill
Cons: No real bass though in my application.

Good speakers. Clear and strong.
Bob from Asheville, NC on 1/11/2017
2011 Ford F-150 XLT
I replaced all four OEM door speakers in my Ford F-150 with these Polk Audio DB572's. I am very pleased with the clarity and punch of the Polk's over the stock speakers, especially if you push the volume. They stay clear and true without getting "fizzy" or distorted. The only drawback I have found is that they are not strong on the bottom end, and do not provide much of a bass presence. I do not use a sub-woofer or any power amp other than the stock radio unit. In that configuration, I wish the speakers had a little more defined bass response. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice speakers and a good upgrade. But, robust bass is not their strong suit.
Pros: Clarity Handles volume well Good punch
Cons: Could have better bass response

Love these speakers! Bought 4 of them to go in my son's F250 super duty super cab...they sound great, especially when paired with the new Sony high powered head unit (40 watts per channel). He was thinking of adding a sub before installing the rest of the system, but now says it sounds great without the sub. Plenty of range for heavy metal listening for a better than factory sound. Definitely worth a few extra bucks for these over a factory grade replacement.
Pros: Great sound, factory fit, lots of tonal range

Awesome sound
John from Chippewa Falls, WI on 11/3/2016
2006 Ford Expedition
My advisor suggested the DB571 but reviews said the bass was weak so I went with the DB572. The sound is really dependent on the receiver driving them. With the factory receiver the sound was more clear than factory speakers but not a big improvement. I added a Jensen VX4025 headunit and that brought them to life but bass was still kinda weak. Turning loudness button on really kicked up the bass and with more adjustment of the 10-band equalizer I have studio quality sound. In my Expedition a couple of the tabs interfered with the installation so I bent those down. Test-fit before you attach wires.
Pros: Great sound if you have a receiver that can get the most out of them.

Great Speaker, Big Improvement Over Factory Sound
Jay from Mooresville, NC on 10/8/2016
2005 Ford Thunderbird
One would think that sound in a sports car wouldn't be that hard since it is such a small space, but these speakers are a great improvement over the 6 factory speakers they replaced. Everything sounds different. Originally I was going for more tweet and less woof although what I got was more tweet and more woof and less midrange over what was in the car. I was missing the top and the bottom and got both or them back with these speakers. Hearing things in the car I hadn't heard before. One level adjustment in either bass or treble is noticeable whereas previously it took several adjustments to make an impact. Installation was very easy and the holes all matched up. The supplied wiring adapters made the installation that much easier.
Pros: Great sound and easy installation. Very responsive with full range of sound.
Cons: With any speaker change it affects the preset modes. In this case the "top down" mode causes sound push from the right side probably due to bigger speakers in the back now. Its not a problem, I just use the "driver's seat" and "all seat" modes. Plenty of sound with top down.

Just upgraded from the Bose factory speakers to the Polk DB572 in the front doors of my 2007 Mazda3 Hatchback, and the difference is night and day. So much more midrange. I'm running two Pioneer Champion series 12" subs off of a 2600 watt Planet Audio amp in the back, and the massive bass was wiping out all vocals at any volume up to level 14. Just swapping these out made all the difference.
Pros: Clear midrange, even when running tons of bass Marine grade - great for doors Sound is crystal clear

2010 Mazda CX-7
So much better than those factory speakers. Never thought of replacing my speakers until I came across the idea just browsing the web one day. Just the difference in weight and construction versus factory is clue enough of the improvement I was expecting. The Polk speakers are great. Not only is the music so much better, I can hear the vocals clearly and find myself listening to fm now more than talk radio. I never realized the difference it would make. I wish I had made the change sooner. Difficult part of installation was disconnecting door panel wire harness until I finally found an online video showing one guy using a screwdriver to work the tab. Once I figured that out, all of the harness connectors came off with ease. Crutchfield instructions were most helpful.
Pros: Much better sound than factory, especially the clearer vocals. Adapters provided matched perfectly with system wiring.
Cons: None.

Wonderful Speakers
Robert from Simpsonville, SC on 6/17/2016
2002 Mazda Miata
These speakers greatly improved the stereo in my Miata. I can hear detail I could not hear with the stock speakers even at highway speed, top down. I am using a JVC head unit I installed a few years ago, but just now decided to improve the speakers. I was also going to install an amplifier, but I'm not sure it is needed now. I hesitated to purchase these because I really wanted a component system. I was worried that not replacing the tweeter in the stock position would hurt the quality of the sound. I wasn't excited about mounting crossovers in the doors; the inside of the doors tend to be wet in the Miata. These speakers are perfect with the original tweeter disconnected.
Pros: Plug and play install for the Miata. Everything fits perfectly.
Cons: The improvement in the sound just encourages me to order more stuff. This can get dangerous!

Put all 4 of these 572s (new upgrade to the 571s) in my 2000 Explorer. Easy fit to factory mounts without any modification! Instructions and youtube video from Crutchifeld were perfect. Once all 4 were in, the sound was beautiful (as Id expect from Polk). The range on these 572s gets into the lows more than the 571s and they can take more power too. Highs mids and lows are very dynamic even with the factory stereo, although I can tell they arent even close to hitting their potential, so im getting a Kenwood deck and probably an amp. Will not disappoint!
Pros: Sound quality Build quality is superb Easy install Perfect fit
Cons: None so far!
