Easy Way to Upgade Stock System

Bought these to improve on the six speaker stock system on a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid - front dash speakers. The stock speakers were flyweight tweeters. These add a considerable depth to the stock system. Install took 30 minutes or the pair. Pop out the grill, remove two 10mm screws, and release the wiring harness clip. Crutchfield provided the harness ( a lot longer, so be prepared to tuck a good bit of wiring), attach to the new speakers and reinsert the two screws on each side. Voila. For such a nominal investment and so much of an improvement in sound quality, this should be a no brainer. One, two, three, done!

The sensitivity on these Infinity speakers is WORLDS better than the stock paper garbage speakers. Highs are bright but not overpowering, and unless you install the included low-end capacitor, they produce a shocking amount if mid and low range. Excellent choice for the dash!!

Great speakers, Especially the tweeter. They are astounding great sound. I listened to high quality for my dash speaker they dont justify the price difference on the higher frequency the sound better the botom end. I only wish they could handle more power.

Huge improvement over the cheap stock paper speakers in the Subaru Forrester! The sound quality is a noticeable improvement even with the factory 6 1/2" touchscreen radio.

I was completely blown away after installing these in my 2019 Ram 1500. The difference was day and night compared to the stock ones. Im not even a beginner with knowledge of car audio and was able to change them with no problem. Using Crutchfield's interface really helped me pick the right speakers that fit perfectly, along with all the info they provide helped me figure out what was right for me.

Not so easy to install. Need right angle Philips screwdriver, the speakers came with a capacitor to install. It worked better to solder the connections. The location of the speakers for the replacement was the dash.

It's a decent speaker for the money. I don't currently have it playing through a high pass filter of any sort and I think that's really killing the sound quality that I'm getting. It does ok but I think it'll perform best with a high pass filter at least 80hz and up.
Pros: Low price. Pretty crisp highs.
Cons: Does not handle any sort of bass well at all. I know I know, it's not a subwoofer but I've had other speakers handle bass better in the past.

The speakers sound fantastic, of course they are not for bass use, but overall they can handle all ranges. They did not fit my jeep jl roll bar 3.5 inch, but fit the front corners with a slight adjustment of the connectors. Big difference.

Cons: The connections should be placed higher on the cone instead of next to the magnet because it takes more space in the installation spaces.

Seems to be of great quality. Great sale price also. Sounds very crisp compared to the original oem dash speaker. It comes with an optional bass-blocker if you decide to install it and even the gaskets for under the speaker to prevent rattling. The only item in question is that it does not have a typical gasket where the rubber surround meets the metal speaker framing. I guess if it's adhered strong enough it won't be an issue but I'm used to an overlapped gasket.

Love the REF-3032cfx, fits my 2022 Toyota Camry front window inserts, compliments the four REF-6532ex 6 1/2 speakers in my doors. The sensitivity of the speaker allows for it to connect directly with the factory radio. The sound is more pronounced, much cleaner high-to-mid. Installed the Infinity Primus 6004a 4-channel amp to compliment the entire speaker setup which enabled me to dial-in the high pass filter on all six speakers. I sings now!
Pros: Speaker sensitivity, clarity of highs and mids, can drive speakers without an aftermarket amp, easy replacement of factory speakers.

These have a very sensitive tweeter that causes you to only hear that and only that. They get very bright and will cause fatigue depending on their mounting location near your head (upper rear door, windshield etc.) I ended up literally cutting the tweeters wire terminal, worked perfectly but i shouldn't have to ruin new speakers.
Pros: lots of bass for a 3.5 even though bass are for larger speakers.
Cons: Harsh sensitive tweeter that needs a dsp to tame.

Installed these pair on a dash corner of a 2022 Rav4 and holy cow, what a difference. With OE dash speaker being a tweeter only, system wouldn't get loud and started to disort at a relatively mid volume. With these speakers being sensitive, they can get loud with almost no distortion. Fitment was excellent, used the original screws and fit in the area no problem.
Pros: Fitment is great, works with just OEM factory radio power.

I am absolutely shocked about how much difference these little speakers make. I replaced all six speakers in my Gladiator with Infinity Reference all the way around. Each set significantly improved the sound. However, these little speakers made all the difference in the world. Clean, crisp highs. My Jeep sounds fantastic! They also only took 15 minutes to install. Highly recommend.

Great Sound but need Bass Blockers

Speakers are really nice and sound great. You will have to use a Bass Blocker as they become very stressed when turning up the volume. I did order them with 300 hz Blockers and they were not sufficient. So, if you order them get the 600s. I ended up returning them and go with the 3.5 Kenwood Excelon; they are coming with the proper Bass Blockers and provide a great sound without distortion and really amplify the highs.

I could not stand the sound of the system in my new rav 4 hybrid. My advisor recommended the infinity reference based on my listening habits (louder than necessary) and nailed it. I can't believe the difference in clarity and soundstage. This has to be the most simple upgrade with the most stunning results that I have experienced. Thanks again for the great experience. These will not disappoint.
Pros: Great clarity and soundstage. These are pretty efficient so they will play loud and clear with the stock unit. My daily speakers in the home are GR Research xls encore with the upgraded crossovers so I do have a decent reference set of speakers to compare to. This is an easy choice for future upgrades.

Replaced my factory dash speakers with these in my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Even though they say these 3.5 Reference speakers will not fit, they do. Installation was a breeze, it took less than 20 minutes with no modifications to the bracket that some are saying you have to do; factory grill covers sit completely flush as well. I used the 72-7902 speaker harness that plugs directly into the factory ones, along with 600hz bass blockers. These speakers make a complete difference without being too harsh. Highs are crisp, and the mid range is exceptional for a 3.5 coaxial. I am very pleased, and highly recommend them if you are looking for an upgrade that wont need external amplification.

Cons: None, great speaker for the price!! Take my advice and buy these to upgrade the sound from your factory head unit.

Absolutely wonderful speakers, I'm a Rockford fosgate guy when it comes to amps and subwoofers, but I love infinity for panel speakers they are very clear and crips, and complement my system very well, if you are using these for dash replacement of stock speakers do yourself a favor and put up to a 4000-6000hz resistor these bad boys and you'll be very happy they are not meant for bass

2022 Cadillac CT4 Center Dash Speaker Swap

Not much information out there about folks modifying 2022 Cadillac CT4 stock speakers. Mine does not have the Bose system. Could not justify the extra cost. The first speaker to get changed with mine was the center speaker. There is no wire harness, so I had to cut off the connector and splice (which I don't like doing). The factory wiring is fairly short. Honestly, not too much difference in sound with the Infinity - maybe at higher volumes. Phone calls sound better. I used in-line blue connectors and some extra wire I had from a previous install (I added about five extra inches of wire). Was planning on trying to re-use the factory connector but thought better of it because it was going to be too much work (and the connector is oddly shaped). I would never put a factory paper replacement back if the Infinity gives out. The wiring chart Crutchfield supplied was spot on regarding color and positive - negative. Maverick (my advisor) was great. I will post more reviews with the other replacements when completed.
Pros: Better quality than paper factory speaker. Phone call clarity. Exact fit to replace factory speaker.
Cons: Had to cut off factory connector. Cannot really hear center speaker unless at high volume - which is ok.

I have a 19 Mustang gt. It has the 9 speaker premium audio system. I must say, it's definitely not premium! I chose to try a speaker replacement before going wild. The mids I pulled out where 8 ohm. These speakers are 4 ohm. It instantly doubled my volume! It sound awesome now! I'm very happy with my purchase

These are amazing, they give you quality music the highs are really high but that's the point. They handle bass well no hard popping noise from your front dashboard . Night and day sound upgrade from factory. Well worth the money.

Installed in 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie with Alpine factory system. I would recommend. They are slightly louder than the previous ones, so know that you will hear the dash a little more than before. I'm of course now going to end up "going down the rabbit hole". Meaning I will be replacing the rear door speakers next which should level out the sound a bit too. It's not bad, but it's there. Speakers are solid though and sound very nice. Much more pronounced sound versus the fake Alpine product Ram puts in there.

Requires modification for a 2022 Jeep Wrangler

The speakers sound great. Very efficient and loud with the base Jeep JL factory system. However, they do not fit a 2022 Jeep JL Unlimited (Willis) dash location. I had to clip the mounting tabs about 1/4" on each side and even then the magnet was tight against the air duct. It worked out but was sold as a drop in replacement, which it was not. You may want to update the fitment of these speakers.

I've owned Infinity speakers in the past and this is why I bought them. The sound is much improved from the factory Alpine set up. They are bright in 5k to 6k range and a lot more efficient than the factory speakers. I need to wire in a resistor network to dampen them down or fade them to the back speakers.

Installed these into the dash of my Dodge Challenger. The speakers fit perfectly, I was able to use the factory screws and mounting holes. My only complaint is that they overpower everything else in the vehicle. I plan on soldering a 4 ohm resister in line to make the speakers play nice with the rest of my system.

The bass roll of on the front speakers are not as bad as the rear

There is a certain point where you have diminishing returns from a cost to sound scale. These are the sweet spot for sure! Getting them on a great Crutchfield sale made them even sweeter. I put them in the front dash corners of my 2016 Toyota Prius (six speaker model) using the factory head unit. The 5 and 1/2 year old speakers weren't awful but they weren't great either. Crutchfield sends everything you need for install but the 10mm socket. In true Infinity fashion these things are great. Clear, crisp and even a bit more bass than needed from the front. I think you would have to spend $300.00 to get any noticeable change in sound quality. Great fit and finish as always with Infinity products, if your on the fence about spending an extra $40.00, I think you'd be happy you spent the extra cash with this upgrade to your auto audio (if your looking at the JBL Club series go with these).

Replaced front and rear channel speakers on a 2016 Taurus sHO with Sony system. Much improved sound. Was not recommended for front center but a little work with dremel on the speaker cover and they popped right in. Want these as we were replacing all of the Sony speakers with Infinity, Kappa series in the front A piller and door and Reference in the rear door and center channel. Sound is soo improved wished I done this years ago.

These speakers fit perfectly in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JLU dash corners. They do fit with some modifications in the Jeep's sound bar (tweeters) location. The sound is better than the stock alpine speakers, but not by miles. They're very mid-range heavy though. If you like listening to the radio or podcasts these are definitely great choices. If you're looking for a little more depth then I would say try the JBL Club speakers. However, with the top down, these speakers are great for cutting through the wind noise on the highway with their concentration in the mid to high range.
Pros: Sound better than stock speakers, work with factory amplifier just fine.
Cons: A little too mid-range heavy with not a lot of depth.

Sound great in the front-side dash of my 2018 Subaru Outback non-Harmon Kardon. I thought the center-dash grill of my Outback would have speakers since there was a speaker grill there; nope, I was wrong. Only the Harmon Kardon outback's have a speaker there. So I put these 3.5's in the dash corners. They sound really great. I ended up soldering the inline capacitor that came with the speakers to block harmful bass. I was initially concerned about having to remove the A-pillar cover to pop the dash-corner speaker grills out, but that turned out to be really easy to pop-out. I used a Dewalt right-angle flex shaft attachment to screw these speakers in since a regular screwdriver wouldn't fit with the windshield there. This tool was a life saver. They did not line up with the old screw holes, so had to drill into the surrounding plastic, which was easy.

Made a noticeable difference, even before I installed the capacitors. Not exactly plug and play, but worth the effort. These speakers come with two sets of capacitors; one set is already installed to protect the tweeters; the other set is loose in the box and protects the midranges. It requires soldering and heat shrink tubing, but don't worry -- there's an excellent video on You Tube (the Crutchfield video wouldn't load). The difficult part is knowing how to order. My car came with dash speaker grills and wiring harnesses, but no tweeters! (No wonder my system sounded bad!) The Crutchfield advisor warned me that just because I see speaker grills doesn't mean I have speakers. So when I put in the information for my car, I listed six speakers, even though I only had four. This opened up a whole choice of tweeters, even though I was adding them, not replacing them.
Pros: True 2-way speakers make a noticeable improvement

Works great at lower or medium volumes. I used the simple install with connecting the adapter. I have amplified subwoofers already installed. Not sure if this is causing an imbalance between audio but. They are already starting to distort and I've only had them for a little over a month. My previous stock speakers worked just fine. Just wanted an upgrade and this was definitely not one.

Transformational Sound for 2021 Ram 1500 Dash Speakers

If you don't want to invest in switching out your whole system, swapping out your dash speakers with these alone will provide an immense improvement. I got almost everything I wanted on my 2021 Ram 1500 except for being saddled with the base stereo system. This was actually pretty lucky because, unlike the Alpine or Harman/Kardon systems, the base system uses standard impedance speakers whereas the "upgraded" systems use low impedance ones. Therefore these References are a direct drop-in with no loss in volume. I did couple them with bass blockers. If you orient the speakers a certain way they go in with no modification (if you flip it 180 the other way the tabs won't line up precisely). I swapped out all six of my speakers with these Infinity References (I used the 3-way 6x9s for the doors) but I did the dash first and then tested. These are a 1000% improvement over the base speakers. What was once a muddled mess coming from the dash is clear and transparent and delivers a broad sound field. I didn't dial in the EQ after I swapped these but I did find them a bit bright for my liking. After I swapped all six speakers I'm set at -4 on the treble and -2 on the mid to get what sounds like a flat response to me. We'll see if that changes some after some break-in time. So, again, if you're on a budget or want to swap in phases, start with these paired with the bass blockers and you'll have an immediate huge improvement over the base system in the Ram.

Installed 5 in our 2016 Mazda 3 Grand Touring S with Bose. Three in the front dash and two in the rear. Now we finally have music in our car. Turned the treble control down a little probably due to the equalization of the Bose amp in the car. Clean highs, tight drums and great guitar riffs. Used these in the front dash corners instead of the tweeters from the Infinity component system. Great help from the Crutchfield staff over the 6 months it took me to assemble the system I finally install. I find myself trying all types of music to see how the system sounds.

These are a fantastic replacement for my rear door ELS Studio speakers in my 2018 Acura TLX ASpec. They're 3ohm vs 2, but not a whole lot of options. After one of my tears blew anything was better. Happy to say these sound excellent. Very clear and responsive. Best part is no more terrible sounding audio from the blown speaker!

Awesome speakers. I did these before doing my in-door speakers and immediately heard a difference. I was able to install the drivers side with no mods, but the passenger side needed some trimming on the clips in order to sit right. Just took a pair of dikes and snip snip, piece of cake! This was on a '21 Ram 1500 crew cab

2016 Chrysler Town and Country
Fantastic improvement relative to time and money invested. Takes less than 20 minutes to switch out. Can be much quicker if you don't use the capacitor/bass blocker however I would strongly recommend taking the extra time to add it. Added to my 2021 rav4 prime (non JBL), really helps with clarity in mid and highs. Only problem is i now want to switch the rest of them.

Cons: Have to solder/wire the capacitor for full benefit but this is standard practice

Great, easy and inexpensive upgrade for my 2021 Toyota Rav4 XLE (FWD / Non hybrid). Noticeable sound difference, easy to install and won't break your bank! You won't be disappointed, even if you don't upgrade your door speakers or your head unit (radio).
Pros: Way better sound than the OEM tweeters / easy to install (everything included) / Fair price.

Simple improvement to Jeep factory system

2021 Jeep Gladiator
Bought four speakers (two packages). Fit well in the front dash of my 2021 Gladiator. The rear roll bar wasn't a drop in fit. I rotated the speakers so the terminals fit in the plastic recess by the foam pieces, and used two of the supplied screws to mount them, then reinstalled the factory covers with no issues. Took me maybe 40 minutes to install all of them. The adapters supplied by Crutchfield worked perfect and made install easy. Improves volume and clarity of my 7" factory system. Haven't decided if Ian going to install an amp. I would buy them again.

Got these for my '20 Ram Rebel that had the stock 6 speakers. And let me tell you... I'd consider myself a hobbyist audiophile. These really impressed me right off the bat. My mid and highs are very clear and did definitely enhanced my stock bass. Straight forward install. Did these in 15mins. Definitely a solid recommended for anyone looking to upgrade your stock paper speakers.

Great sound quality, better than kickers for Jeep Wrangler replacement. Took one star away due to placement of connectors directly under attachment point not allowing speakers to be mounted on soundbar, only fit it dash.
Pros: Great sound, good bass, loud and crisp. Fit wrangler dash.
Cons: Do not fit soundbar due to mounting bracket tabs over connection ports.

Just replaced dash speakers in a 16 Ram 1500. Man what a difference. Highs are much cleaner and vocals are tighter. Looks like its going to cost more money because these make the other factory speakers sound so bad. Oh well. Crutchfield, you folks are the best.

Holy moley what an improvement over stock 2017 F150 center speakers! I recently upgraded all of my 7 speakers on my SCrew, starting with this one. The MasterSheet's directions made getting the old unit out a snap. The wire harness that Crutchfield included with these speakers slipped right on the speaker's leads and connected perfectly with the truck's harness. The speaker's screw holes matched the factory holes, and it was a quick job to drop the speaker in and lock it in place. Once in place I tried it out. So clear - even with stock pillar and door speakers, the music was immediately clearer and richer. After upgrading all of the other speakers to Alpine X-series, this little Infinity fit right in and contributes mightily to the sound quality! Comes in a 2-pack, trying to decide if my 16yo is worthy of me installing the 'extra' speaker in her car :)
Pros: * Crutchfield's supplied wire harness matches speaker and factory plug. * Speaker fits in factory hole, screw holes align well with factory screw holes. * Immediate and noticeable difference in sound clarity and spectrum, even with all other factory speakers. * MasterSheet made the job a snap. * Paired with high-end speakers throughout, my truck now has incredibly high-resolution sound. * Comes in a 2-pack: can have your kids fight over the second one.
Cons: * So far, I have not found any. Fit was perfect, sound is great, no issues.

Best upgrade for my RAM pickup dash speakers, soundstage is phenomenal. With the vehicle specific manual, wire harnesses, and tools, this is an easy "plug & play" upgrade from the cheap OEM RAM paper speakers to these! Love hearing excellent sounding music everytime i get in the truck!
