these are the 4x6 I was told I needed for my restoration car. Not even close. Really needed the 6x9. So I kept the 4x6. Too much trouble to return. Got the same speaker in a 6x9 elsewhere for $25 less.
Pros: Good company. Good products. Nice folks.
Cons: Help needs more knowledge in certain areas. Prices higher than some others.

Even when brand new the speakers sounded like they were in a tin can even with the rubber surrounds/baffles installed. I won't be buying these again as I can find no reason they should have blown out this quickly.

Compliments my VDP Soundbar
Cindy from Kenosha, WI on 9/22/2022
These speakers are a significant improvement to the original dash speakers I had. They provide more voluminous sound and with excellent clarity. They compliment my VDP soundbar speakers to provide a pseudo-surround-sound interior. The only downside is the bass is very low. If you need more bass, you'll definitely need to install a separate sub or amplifier. Easy-install too. Overall, I'm very happy with the upgrade and the advice from Crutchfield advisor, Ronald!
Pros: Big sound in a small package Easy install
Cons: Very little bass

The Infinity Reference speakers arrived on time and with all the necessary material I needed for the install the speakers into the dash of my 1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport TJ 4.0l 6 in-line. The speakers are both very clear with full sound and quite loud. A definite upgrade to my Polk DB that we're old. I also found Crutchfield's attention to detail awesome, they made sure to include extra wire, gasket tape and butt connectors with the speakers. Personally, I would buy my audio from Crutchfield going forward.
Pros: Attention to possible customer needs for install of speaker parts.

New Life Breathed into Audio System!
Crutchfield customer from Las Cruces, NM on 5/7/2021
2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I had upgraded the front door speakers in my 2002 Silverado a handful of months ago and thoroughly enjoyed the update in sound and boost in bass bump. Then I decided to do the same to my rear door speakers and took Crutchfield's recommendation for these Infinity Reference speakers. And boy oh boy did Crutchfield come through clutch again. The wiring harness is always simple and the provided instructions made install a breeze. Once I picked up the right screws it took maybe a total of 20 minutes. The additional depth of sound was immediately apparent as was the new bassy thunder from the lows; my rearview mirror shakes a bit on the heavier notes now. But there is no loss of tone or clarity even with the bass cranked on my stereo. Top notch as always Crutchfield, I will certainly be back for any and all of my audio needs.
Pros: Rumbling Bass, Clear Mids & Highs, Greatly Improved Sound.
Cons: No mounting screws included.

2001 Porsche Boxster
I wanted more sound from my factory radio in my 2001 Boxster S . The car had a removable rear storage box up on the back side of the seats . This box is a factory item that could be used as a speaker box using 4 3inch speakers . I searched the web for components to make this box hold the 3 inch speakers but did not find anyone who could supply all the items I needed to convert this box for any where close to the price it was worth . I remembered I had had a very good experience with Crutchfield before so I called them . I had already decided to try to use a 4x6 speaker and was told this speaker would not fit my car . I explained what I wanted to do and the crutchfield tec suggested items I might need and the speaker I might like . I ordered these speakers and a 11 inch sheet of plastic material to make speaker mounts . It took a bit of effort but was able to get the 4x6 speakers to fit . Made a wire harness to the radio and now have a fabulous sound with the added rear speakers . With help from Crutchfield I was able to save hundreds of dollars . Got the sound I wanted . Only problem I have now is my wife wants them for her BMW . Thanks for all your help Crutchfield .
Pros: Much better sound than I had before
Cons: None so far

These fit perfectly in my 2001 S10 ZR2. All I had to do was sand down the screw holes on the non-facing side to allow the speaker cover to fit flat like stock. It literally took a half hour for the entire installation with a philips bit in a socket and a 7mm and some sand paper on a paint stick.
Pros: They sound awesome
Cons: Need to file down speaker screw posts to get the speaker covers to sit flat.

Okay size does matter I bought two pairs of these speakers one I put in the rear pillar post of an older truck with an amplifier and was surprised of the quality of sound and had more bass than I had expected the other pair I put in a 2006 Chevy truck in the rear pillar post but use them on the factory stereo can't really say much not much better than the factory speakers these need an amp for sure to make them shine I have an amp in that same truck for the front speakers with the factory stereo and it sounds pretty good so give them the power they need
Pros: Great price great little speaker

These speakers reproduce mid and high range quite well. If you are looking for lots of bass, these are not the best choice. Although they claim to handle up to 45 watts, I find that a bit hard to believe. At less than half volume on a 40 year old receiver (no where near 45 watts), distortion is evident.

2000 Honda S2000
I am impressed with how much range of frequencies this speaker of this size was able to produce with clarity and no distortion at all. I added these pair of speaker to my Honda S2000 behind the driver and passenger seats since the car only comes with front door speakers. I was amazed of how much more sound and clarity I was able to hear with the convertible top down. I had to use the fader to put more emphasis toward the front to balance out the soundstage of my listening position. The speaker's build quality was top notch. Overall I am very satisfied with the speaker from Infinity.

Good Sound
Bill from Cheshire, CT on 5/8/2020
1984 Porsche 944
Anyone that has researched available door speakers for your 944 has found that most documented options are outdated and/or no longer available. Looking to keep the original look without going the modifications for 6x9 speakers, amp, subwoofer and mega wattage route - my selection/purchase came down to two sets of speakers: - Infinity REF-6432cfx (after hearing them using the Speaker Compare Program - highly recommended) - RetroSound R-463N (based in the top mount depth) With available door depth of 1.5"/38 mm from door frame to the window guide on any car with power windows, I attempted installation of each speaker. The Infinity speaker required spacers between the door frame and the speaker and also produced a gap between door card and original speaker cover while the RetroSound did not. Both sets of speakers returned a FIT in the Rear Seat Side Panel only, based on my experience - this is a confirmation that these Infinity speakers require modifications vs an original equipment door installation. With both speakers an upgrade from +35 year old originals, I was more than happy enough with the sound. My decision was made to install the RetroSounds in the front (easy installation) and the Infinity's in the back (much more difficult ). Thanks to Kevin for his assistance making for a happy customer!!

Crutchfield customer from Maud, TX on 5/6/2020

Great quality speakers, they fit well in my '04 Silverado extended cab rear doors. No modification besides drilling new holes was required, and they fit behind the door panels. They do not have as much bass as the factory Bose speakers at lower volumes, but the sound quality of the bass is much higher. The sound quality is much more clear and sounds great even with the factory radio.
Pros: Awesome sound quality, easy install, and works well with factory radio.
Cons: Slightly less bass at low volumes than the OEM Bose, though the bass quality is much better in the Infinity which for me is not a con though some may disagree.

Great speaker

2000 GMC Sierra 1500
Upgrade from factory in a 2000 GMC Sierra regular cab and what a difference. Sounds really good paired with Infinity 6530cx component set in the doors. I almost forget I'm driving an older truck! Would definitely order them again.
Pros: Easy install (after panels removed) sound good
Cons: Nothing really, wish they had a bit more bass but remedied that with the Infinity component set in the doors.

Exactly what i needed for my pickup. Ive always loved infinity kappas...but they dont make a 4x6 in the kappa series. This speaker still sounds great..ESPECIALLY for the cost. HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you need 4x6's. Just a bummer kappas are not available in this size

Replaced 15 year old rear BOSE speakers that were still going. This upgrade made a HUGE difference, I'm guessing the factory BOSE amp gave these Infinity speakers that extra boost, I can just imagine how much better they'll sound once I replace the head unit.
Pros: Sound is extremely loud.(Factory head unit and BOSE amp)
Cons: Wish they came with mounting brackets like the front speakers.

Can't hear my truck rattle anymore.
Crutchfield customer from Woburn, MA on 7/5/2019
1999 Chevrolet Silverado
Used these in the b pillars of my Silverado with 6 1/2" infinity references in the doors, a 10" kicker sub behind the driver's seat on a 500w alpine amp. The system sounds pretty great although there was a bit of intermittent high end fuzz from these 4x6's which seems to have gone away.
Pros: Sound good after the fuzz went away.
Cons: There was a bit of high end fuzz that would come and go in the first few days.

Work ok. Easy install but I had trim out to do rear glass. Sound good but don't expect a lot of bass from a 4x6 speaker. I think they sound better than the pioneers I put in front corners on 1989 Chevy Silverado also got from Crutchfield. TS-G460. But they were also more expensive.
Pros: Sound good.

2001 silverado reg. cab "B" pillar install. The accessories made it a piece of cake to do. This is a base truck that didn't even come with junk speakers so after install, they really rounded out the other pair of reference 6 1/2"s just put in the door. They helped with rounding out a bit more bass and the delivery of my music choice which is from smooth jazz to classic rock to hawaiian is crisp and clean. For oldies rock, would need sub and amp but otherwise perfectly happy with all four infinities.
Pros: rounds out sounds from "B" pillar
Cons: none that I can't fix later with an amp and sub
