Good replacement for factory
Justin from Wichita, KS on 5/22/2023
2012 Volkswagen Jetta
These speakers were used in a 2012 VW Jetta (not fender equipped). They have better highs than factory, and they have clearer lows. Mid range is about the same. Over all these are a slight upgrade from the factory speakers.
Pros: Crisp highs, deep clear lows.
Cons: Connectors are weak and like to bend

Disappointing
Ethan from Denton, TX on 5/11/2023
2006 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
Perhaps I'm more of an audiophile than I realized, but these were pretty disappointing. Even though the frequency response would have you think that they dip well into the sub-bass realm, I hardly got any bass out of them. Volume was also pretty quiet. On the bright side, installation was super easy, so if you're looking for a replacement that kind of sounds like a bluetooth speaker, is cheap, and is easy to install, these might be right for you. Just not what I was looking for, I guess.
Pros: Easy to install Cheap
Cons: No bass Quiet

Pros: Cheap Kenwood speakers. Good reputation. Good build quality
Cons: Dont sound good. No bass compared to Kenwood Excelons even though these are better than the OEM Ford speakers.

Volvo 6.5" Door Speaker Upgrade & Change. Both Pleased & Relieved!

Sound great! Replaced original speakers in Volvo S80 (no surround sound). I was hesitant for a long time to make sure I got the "right" speakers, since the Volvo speakers were 8 Ohm, and only 4 Ohm speakers were available from Crutchfield. I upgraded the 4 door 6.5" subwoofer component speakers, with these Coaxials. The stock Tweeters ( Front doors only ) were micro & not simple to replace. With the new speakers, I compared having the front door tweeters plugged in & unplugged. The tinny sound was weak & poor from those stock tweets so I left them unplugged & get clearer lows & highs from these Kenwood 1666S!

I bought 2 sets of these (front and rear) for my 99 Jeep Xj Cherokee. Powered off a BOSS 7 head unit I was excited to have a modern stereo in my 23 year old Jeep. Upon first use they sounded ok, a little flat overall. After adjusting thr EQ I came to the conclusion that these were a poor choice for my Jeep. Anything beyond 1/2 volume the speakers bottomed out. No bass whatsoever. Below 1/2 volume they are just ok. Severely disappointed as I tossed the grills and original packaging, so seriously doubt I can return them. There's no way these can handle 60 watts at 4 ohms.

Cons: No bass, speakers harsh beyond 1/2 volume.

Lets be clear on what these speakers are. I installed them in a 2007 Toyota Matrix base model, replacing the factor installed speakers. These are extremely clear when connected to my Sony head unit. The words are crisp and highs to midhigh's are clear. They are not an upgrade from the factor speakers when it comes to midrange and lows. Bass (compared to the stock speakers) is non-existent. I was not expecting shake the car bass, but they do not even produce anything near the factory specs in that department. Honestly, if you are upgrading from factor speakers that are not blown, these are not an improvement. If I hadn't past the return window, I would have sent them back.

If you're trying to upgrade your old factory speakers, these are a good choice. Not high end, but great for the price especially if you are just going to power them with your head unit and not a high powered amp. In my 05 Frontier, the sound was much better than my stock speakers. I have a Kenwood Excelon DPX594BT powering them.

They are very good speakers for the price. They are a definite improvement over the factory speakers. They could be better, but I think that's the fault of the under powered factory radio. I'm not replacing the factory radio because GM had to do the info center in the radio display and that's a bigger headache than I want to deal with. Eventually I will have to put an amp in it to boost the sound.
Pros: Easy installation

Surprisingly good sound quality for the price
Crutchfield customer from HURLBURT FIELD, FL on 8/27/2022
2008 Toyota RAV4
I bought these to replace some back seat factory speakers that had blown out years ago. I chose this cheap pair because the back seat is very low priority, but I was very impressed with the quality of their sound. It might just be because of the acoustics of the back seat but they sound better than the far more expensive ones in the front. The connectors do feel a bit fragile, like if I don't support them just right while connecting they'll snap.
Pros: Excellent sound quality Didn't need crossovers
Cons: Connectors are on the fragile side

You get what you pay for
Christian from Lunenburg, MA on 8/17/2022
2012 Dodge Charger
Nothing against Crutchfield on this. They couldn't have been more helpful. Fast delivery. Chester in customer service was tremendous. Great price and everything included but as always you get what you pay for. I kind of expected more from something with the Kenwood name on it. All the accessories were there and fit correctly. Very high and mid, with almost no bass. I have also noticed clipping at higher volumes. Usually right around the heavy snare drum hits. Not sure if this has to do with my stock Dodge stereo and the power split between the stock rear decks or not. Would love to replace but trying to balance the door panel on various body parts so it doesn't yank out the other wiring to the door while installing is just too much for this old dude. I will keep playing with the EQ and Bal/Fade until I can get it to stop sounding choppy.
Pros: Crutchfield was awesome. All brackets and harnesses fit perfectly and no missing pieces
Cons: Little to no bass. Clipping at higher volume.

New Speakers for Old Car
Ron from Fairfax, VA on 8/14/2022
I bought these speakers for a 2008 Toyota Corolla for which I had already bought a Pioneer head unit from Crutchfield. The sound on the old speakers was not too good, and sometimes it had been hard to hear even news and traffic. (The Corolla is a louder car, also.) These speakers have made a significant difference in sound quality, and my family has noticed the difference. Trey at Crutfield was really helpful in helping to select these speakers, which are relatively inexpensive. The speakers came with covers, but I ended up not using them as it made it difficult to fit in the door. The Crutchfield instructions also really helped, and I learned some tricks along the way. Probably the only hiccup was that the connecting hole for the wires in the mounting bracket was a little small for one of the wire connectors in the harness, but using a drill to make the hole wider did the trick.
Pros: Significaly improved sound over OEM speakers.
Cons:

Clear speakers on a budget for a truck
Chase from NOBLESVILLE, IN on 7/16/2022
2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
For a cheaper set of speakers, these are the best bang for the buck for clarity. After I had these setup in my 2003 Chevy Silverado, I was very surprised on how full the sound was (single cab truck). Bass is not to be expected but it does offer a tiny bit. These do rattle a decent bit but I think that's just my truck. The reason I went with these over similarly priced speakers is just how much clearer these sounds after comparing using Crutchfield's speaker comparison.
Pros: Clear sound Fairly loud once powered properly Great price for what I was looking for
Cons: If you're looking for bass, these offer very little

Great Sound & Amazing Company
Dennis from Mechanicsville, VA on 7/11/2022
2013 Ford Fusion
These speakers are a very nice replacement for the factory speakers that (literally) disintegrated in my 2013 Ford Fusion. The quality really is head and shoulders above factory and I'm already looking forward to installing a second pair. The installation was super easy especially for my first time doing anything like this. Aside from the speaker quality, the free, one day shipping from Crutchfield (I live in Virginia) was perfect and I really felt like I was ordering from a top-notch, local business. The support they offer is amazing and the fact that they included two FREE speaker mounts and two FREE wiring harnesses, plus a custom installation guide for my specific car was a very impressive bonus. Other companies charge an additional $15-$20 for each of their mounts and harnesses. Looking forward to purchasing from Crutchfield again soon!
Pros: Sound quality, ease of installation, amazing support, and price to performance.
Cons: Custom installation guide could have been more specific when it came to actually connecting the speakers using the mounts and harnesses.

I purchased these for the front door panel on a convertible. Installation was real easy, wiring was even easier. The only issue I have with these is that when I turn the 'loudness' on the radio, these become terrible for any bass and makes it not enjoyable. I don't have an amplifier, just the Boss 550B radio. I don't want to hassle with trying to return them, but can just live without that extra bass.
