Equalizer: The Kenwood DPX504BT offers 8 EQ Presets for easy adjustment, a 3-band Easy EQ, a 13-band Manual EQ for customized tuning, a Drive EQ mode to overcome road noise, and a Stage EQ for better imaging. Separate EQ settings and EQ presets can be stored for each source or you can apply one EQ preset or curve to all sources.

  • Preset EQ: The integrated equalizer offers 8 preset sound modes (Rock, Pops, Easy, Top 40, Jazz, Natural, Drive EQ, or User) suitable for the music genre of your choice.
  • Easy EQ: The Easy EQ allows you to manually adjust the receiver Bass, Midrange, and Treble from 9dB to +9dB.
  • 13-Band EQ: The 13-Band EQ consits of 62.5Hz, 100Hz, 160Hz, 250Hz, 400Hz, 630Hz, 1kHz, 1.6kHz, 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 6.3kHz, 10kHz, & 16kHz frequencies that can be adjusted from -9dB to +9 dB. The Q-factor of each frequency can also be adjusted to 1.35, 1.5, or 2.0
  • Drive EQ: The Drive EQ mode helps you hear your music over road noise. It boosts certain frequency ranges that become hard to hear due to road noise.
  • Stage EQ: Stage EQ virtually lifts the sound up to ear-level for better imaging inside your vehicle.

Audio Settings: The Kenwood DPX504BT offers a variety of audio settings to further enhance your music listening experience.

  • Sound Reconstruction: When MP3, WMA, AAC files encoded at a low bit rate (less than 96 kbps, 44.1k, 48kHz) are played, the Sound Reconstruction function restores their high frequencies so the sound quality is closer to files encoded at a high bit rate. The processing is optimized for the compression format and the bit rate used. When Sound Reconstruction is Off, the unit plays the original sound stored in the audio file.
  • Space Enhancer & Sound Realizer: The Spacer Enhancer widens the soundstage inside your vehicle, while the Sound Realizer makes your music sound more realistic.
  • Loudness, Bass Boost & Bass Extension: The Loudness feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The unit's Bass Boost enhances low bass frequencies at any volume level. There is also a Bass Extension feature which further enhances the unit's bass output at extremely low frequencies around 62.5Hz.
  • Volume Offset: The level of each source may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output volume when switching from one source to another. The available settings range from -15 to +6.

Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

Q
Will this radio fit in a 1987 Corvette and will it activate the power antenna?
colin c.  Jul 14, 2021
1 answer
A
I believe it will activate an antenna if memory serves. It does have a 12v amp activation output wire that would work, but would always raise the antenna when radio is on. It is a 'double DIN' size vertically and standard width.

Hello, I do not know the difference between these units, what I can say however is that I am very much satisfied with the DPX504BT from Kenwood, as it gives a powerful and crisp sound with excellent highs an basses, filling with sound easily a full size SUV. I sold the SUV but kept the unit. Also two thumbs up for the customer service from Crutchfield, I live in the Arabian Gulf, had a small issue with the unit when I connected it, picked up the phone and immediately got someone on the other side from customer support who gave me precise guidance and the unit was up and running in seconds while still on the phone. Trust Crutchfield for their advice they are the specialists in ICE.

Hello William. We don't have XM anything in our vehicle so I'm not the expert that you need here. With that said I don't think it would...I haven't seen an XM setting in any of the modes or inputs when I installed it. Have a wonderful holiday season and very Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Q
How's the brightness have had several used decks in a 2008 Honda Civic can't see anything during the day no matter the colour settings?
shawn  May 04, 2020

A
Brightness is fine and different colors. But it is new! I had a problem with Crutchfield not review specs of the stereos. What I don't like is that the buttons are hard to find and press. Not like a normal stereo, if that makes sense. Also, it is important for me to have an auto scan for station search, not only a manual scan. It does sound a lot better than the factory stereo and that is without a separate amp. I don't like that you have to page through I think 7 - 10 screen displays to change from AM to FM1 FM2 FM3 Spoty, Pandora, etc. I think the rest is fine. I use the Spoty and Radio and CD sometimes. Nice that the phone picks up calls when on, but haven't figured any more than that. It would be nice to see what you choose.

I don't see my new Kenwood's display all that well. I think it has more to do, with the factory positioning of the deck than the brightness... The deck is plenty bright enough.

Brightness on this deck is NOT a problem. I have it turned all the way down and I like it both day and night at this setting.

I have this unit and have Zero problems. It's possible it's the set up or the unit itself.

No video. Stay away from Kenwood. I dunno if it is the bluetooth or this unit, but unless you reset it each time you start your car, it mostly does not work... Also, This unit will not charge my iPhone, switched cables with a known good one, still did not work. Both cables and iPhone both charge on other vehicle, but not on this. I'd keep looking! -Scott Lewis
