Substantial woofer
The 6-3/4" woven glass-fibre woofer cone delivers the fullness and punch you don't hear with most factory speakers, and its specially designed surround ensures consistent performance. An aluminum die-cast basket minimizes unwanted vibration, allowing the woofer to cleanly provide all the detail and impact you expect. Kenwood uses a special-design voice coil to give you a signature sound that's driving and powerful.
Soft dome tweeter
Kenwood's sleek, surface-mount tweeter pod gives this system an elegant look that matches its high-resolution sound. The 1" soft dome tweeter itself brings warmth and incredible detail to your music that honors an artist's intention song to song. If you are into high-res music, these tweeters reproduce frequencies up to 48,000 Hz, delivering the extended detail and strong imaging of your high-res FLAC or DSD files. Inline crossovers ensure accuracy without any harshness.
Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.
Grilles are not included; the factory grilles should be suitable for most applications.

Features
Tweeter Mounting Options: The tweeters are shipped installed in surface mount pods. Each pod is attached to a foot, and can tilt (approximately 45°) and swivel (approximately 30°) after mounting. The pods can also be disassembled, and some of the parts use to make standard surface mount housings. The tweeters can be removed from the pod entirely and mounted behind factory grilles. (The included mounting rings might be useful in this location.) Once mounted the tweeters have these dimensions:

Crossover: The 7' tweeter wires have 6 dB/octave in-line high pass crossovers. The crossover point is approximately 9,950 Hz. The tweeter end of each wire has quick slide terminals that easily connect to the tweeter. The input end has two sets of bullet terminals, labeled Audio Components and Speaker. The terminals labeled Audio Components plug into the included woofer wires. The terminals labeled Speaker are not used.
Warranty Note: Although the information included with these speakers indicates a 1-year warranty, they are actually covered by the Kenwood eXcelon 2-year warranty.
