Required for Nissan antenna conversion
Crutchfield customer from Odenville, AL on 4/20/2025
1997 Nissan Maxima
This was required to connect the new radio to our odd Nissan factory antenna jack. One end plugs into the factory jack with 2 pins, the other end plugs into the standard antenna jack from the radio. Then there is another standard connection that is not used. Not sure why there are 3 connections. Maybe to add a modulator or something later on? This worked for the radio upgrade on our '97 Maxima with Bose.

Cheap
Tyler from POST FALLS, ID on 7/19/2024
1998 Infiniti QX4
It's in my car and I'm using it, but the plastic housing broke when I plugged it in. It needed a little bit of pressure to plug in and that pressure from my thumb shattered the plastic housing. And the 2nd plug is unused for my car so it just adds to the ugly mess behind the radio after using a pac interface module too. UPDATED 8/12/24: I had problems with this purchase and left an unfair review, when I did this, Crutchfield staff instantly reached out and sent me a new product to replace it. I broke the plastic housing on the first one because I pressed too hard trying to insert the adapter to my cars harness. I was impressed with how Crutchfield handles these situations and they deserve nothing but 5-star reviews from me. Lots of companies say they want you to be happy with their products, but they rarely seem to care. Crutchfield obviously does, and I will continue to buy my audio products from them. Nikita was who reached out and I think that she was the most helpful and kind, respectful Customer Service agent I have ever dealt with.

I ended up not needing this part. There was confusion as to which antennae adapter my car required. These guys are amazing.

Perfect and no noise or interference from the plugs. The only thing I would add is something to cover the not used port after install......heat shrink, etc.
Pros: Perfect Fit/No interference noise
Cons: Not even a con but having a heat shrink tube or something to tie the extra port to avoid interference would be a cool added item.

What can I say? It works and you need it to adapt Nissan's weird two-pin connector to a standard antenna plug. Would've liked it to be a little shorter as there wasn't a whole lot of room left behind the stereo with the wiring kit installed.
Pros: Works
Cons: Longer than necessary, IMO

What can be said. the adapter works, connects properly to the Aftermarket stereo and the Bose Dual antenna connector in the Pathfinder. It is just what is needed.
Pros: Works, connects easily, does what it is supposed to
Cons: Motorola connector not as tight as desired. A short strip of electrical tape makes sure it won't work loose

Bose Nissan antenna adaptor
Uncle Willie from Thomasville, GA on 3/13/2013
2003 Nissan Maxima
The Nissan Bose installation uses a two wire antenna lead on the factory radio. The actual antennas are in the glass of the rear window of a Maxima. When hooked up with the flanges aligned, the radio got poor FM reception and no AM stations. I read a review on this site about reversing the connection, so I tried that, and now the FM works great and AM is unchanged. It's anybody's guess how the factory wires these antennas, and the Bose radio that was in my car has a Clarion label on it, but it was the very finest FM radio I've ever used. I never would have replaced it if it had an USB input so I could use my iPod. The new radio is a JVC KW-NT500HDT.
Pros: It works, but it's not intuitive how to connect it.
Cons: Ambiguous instructions

it connected fine. from some of the reviews below I guess I can't complain. I've always heard that reception is diminished with aftermarket decks but wow. A lot of the stations are now almost inaudible. But then again the particular stereo purchased was not for it's radio awesomeness.
Pros: connects and works as advertised
Cons: reception diminished, might not be the adapter's fault but....

It wired BACKWARDS
ChrisZeeshutterbug from Louisiana on 1/2/2013
2001 Nissan Maxima
After hooking up the stereo, and the antenna (with the adapter clip oriented properly) I got zero AM stations by scanning and one by manual tuning. OK, so I heard most aftermarket stereos are poor on AM. On FM all of the regular stations came in on scan fine, but no weaker stations at all. I drove around a few days like that, but after a second thought I did more reserch on the receiver and the antenna adapter. On on site I found a person who swore that thw antenna adapter on Nissans is wired backwards and works much better in reverse. OK, I was good at taking the dash apart now, so I went for it. it IS TRUE!. When the adapter is put in with the clip on the smooth side (backwards) I get 6 AM stations (still none on scan) and EVERY FM dial position has a station on it (with scan)!
Pros: Works well when plugged in backwards
Cons: Wired bacwards

Plugged in and worked as it should. I didn't give it 5 stars because the retainer clip that prevents it from becoming unplugged did not fit perfectly. It does not affect the function of the adapter at all. Mine is plugged in and working great. I would buy it again.

Doesn't work on Pathfinder
clayr from wilmington, nc on 1/31/2012
2007 Nissan Pathfinder
The product is fine performance-wise, but the description should include that it will not work on a Nissan Pathfinder. There is a metal heating duct (or a brace-not sure) behind the radio unit, which is bypassed by the stock antennae cable's L-shaped design. This adapter cable, when plugged into the radio, does not allow the radio to fully seat into its proper place. You will need an L-shaped connector for the pathfinder.
Pros: other than the design issue, it works fine!
Cons: Does not fit 2007 model Pathfinder.

Why the extra lead?
Steve M. from Phoenix, AZ on 7/2/2011
2001 Infiniti QX4
This adapter worked fine for connecting the new Kenwood KDC-348U to Infiniti's proprietary antenna connector, but I have to wonder why they had to provide both male and female radio-end connectors. Yes, I know, some aftermarket radios have male leads, some have female; but, this configuration makes it just a bit harder to find enough room under the dash. I zip-tied the whole thing together to shortened the overall length and to keep that extra lead from just flopping around. A lot of extra wire and hardware just to avoid having to inventory 2 different adapters - I would design this with a single, male end- connector for the radio and provide a female-female sleeve for those radios that have a male-end antenna connection.
