Did not work for my 95' ls400

1995 Lexus LS400
I ordered this with a double din radio that i was hoping was gonna fit into my 1995 lexus ls400, when it arrived i started tearing up my dashboard to expose the wiring behind the stock radio, the adapter did not fit the stock wiring so i called Crutchfield tech support. the first guy either disconnected or hung up on me. The second guy was alot better, he said that the wiring actually went to the stock amp which was under the passenger seat, so i started taking out my passenger seat and when i did the harness still did not fit the amp. ive heard this product works great for other cars but if you have a 1995 ls400 withought the nikimachi radio system DO NOT BUY THIS.

My original amp failed in my older 4Runner, 1997. This harness matches perfectly! I installed, years back, an aftermarket radio, Sony radio. The colors to the Metra wiring harness matches exactly. The amplifier is out. The radio is in. The telescopic antenna goes up and down when it's supposed to. If there is a downside, the sound, not having the amp, is not as good. ( That's to be expected.) GOOD JOB, Crutchfield!
Pros: Color to color match. Instructions were clear and colored. Package came on time.
Cons: 22 gauge wires SUCKS! Purchase a new wire cutter for smaller wire gauges to help remove the sheath from wires. Patience.

This made the installation super easy the wires were all the same color as what they were on the Kenwood stereo plugs those had to do was splice the tubes plugs together made it really easy only thing better would have been if they had the whole thing made up and splicing them was pretty easy
Pros: Pretty much a no-brainer is all the wires were the same color on both sides

I'm sure this harness works for someone, but not my 1996 Toyota T100. I looked through the reviews after I attempted to install my stereo and saw 40+ 1-star reviews about how this does not fit into Tacomas, 4Runners, and T100s. So why is Crutchfield continuing to send the wrong harness with stereo purchases? Hopefully customer service will rectify this.

This harness adapter was awesome and fit the OEM female bus ports perfectly in our old Toyota Echo. The harness came free from Crutchfield with our JVC radio purchase. During actual pairing of these wires with the JVC bus adapter we gratefully noted that Metra had nicely pre cut the tips of the plastic insulation for easy/quick removal.whereas JVC didn't? The difference in labor efficiency was striking. I'm giving Metra some big credit here for helping move my car radio project along. It's nice touches like this that make for a better experience in the area of often frustrating and time consuming amateur wiring work. The JVC side of the wire pairing was a lot of stop and go with each wire end while the Metra side was just yank off and go.

One of the best reason to buy from Crutchfield is these wiring harness kits. You don't have to find a wiring diagram to figure which wire is for what in your factory harness . Also it keeps you from having to cut your factory harness which is great in case you ever need to reinstall the factory audio unit.

I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma X-tra Cab pickup. I had a Sony Radio/CD Player and Sony 6 Disc changer that I bought from Crutchfield back around 2003 for my 1995 Toyota Tacoma pickup, but I only still had the larger of the 2 piece connector needed, the other piece was lost. The factory stereo finally died in the 2000, so I ordered the harness needed to connect to the factory radio/ CD player. It arrived in 2 days and it worked perfectly matching up from the factory connector to the wiring from the Sony player, color code of wiring all matched and instructions were great on removing, wiring, and installing the radio in the dash. I'm definitely a Crutchfield customer for the rest of my life! Great customer service! Thank you Crutchfield!
Pros: Everything was perfect, and this old Sony Player and Changer both run perfect after not being used for 12 years. Wiring hookup was easy with their adapter and instructions. Crutchfield sells quality products and great customer service! Thank you!

Used to install new receiver into 2007 4Runner. This made the install a lot easier. Note: Crutchfield will tell you that you need to run a line to the parking brake via a splice. This is undoubtedly the correct way to do things. However, it works just fine if run to ground.

The one of two harnesses I received was perfect no issues, other than it was missing the second 4-wire harness. That deserves a 1-star review since I only received half the product I paid for.
Pros: Connector fit well and made wiring much easier
Cons: Missing the smaller 4-wire harness that was supposed to be included, so I had to cut the original wiring for the rear speakers which I was trying to avoid.

Wrong harness for a 1998 Toyota Camry with a factory amp

This review is for the system that matches cars to harnesses. We were installing an aftermarket stereo in a 1998 Camry. This harness is the only one that comes up for the CE/ LE/LXE for a factory stereo with a pocket below so we ordered it. When we dismantled the dash, there was a single connection from the car to the factory radio, not 2 separate connections like this harness. Finally, went to a local shop and their installer said some 1998 Camry's have factory installed amps. They need the 70-8112 harness. The system should have a question about factory installed amps to get to the right harness for a 1998 Camry. That one change would have saved a ton of time and effort.
