Important 2011 Nissan Frontier SV King Cab
Stephen from BUFORD, GA on 6/22/2025
2011 Nissan Frontier SV
IMPORTANT - Nissan Frontier 2011 SV King Cab. Pop the front top speaker cover with a flat head to verify a speaker is indeed there! If not, this harness won't work. You'd need a different one. 5 stars because while I didn't use the harness, Tech Support set me up with the right one after I got the wrong one.

Lil solder, and heat shrink along with this wiring adapter and my new car stereo installation took no time at all. Back in the day it'd take me half a day to install a new stereo .with Crutchfield's and their install kits ,like this wiring adapter , start to finish is a hr @ most. The adapter is not cheaply made and at least same quality as the vehicles wiring / plugs .
Pros: Colors matched stereo colors ,as well as collide on package
Cons: If I wasn't soldering you need to buy wire connectors separately, but for free I'm not complaining.

Makes it all come together. Color coded for easy connection. I put a loose piece of heat shrink tubing down one of the wires, soldered the ends, slid the tubing over the joint, heated it up to shrink, and it looks like a pro job. Mat from Finksburg, MD on 1/7/2021
2006 Nissan Altima
Makes installation a lot easier. However I also purchased the Maestro SW1 in order to maintain the steering wheel controls. This is why I'm only giving it a 3 star. The Maestro needed to be spiced into the 3 wires from the factory wiring, It sure would have been n ice to include a 3rd wiring harness in order to prevent that. This was in a Nissan 2006 Altima without the factory Bose stereo and amp.
Pros: Makes the stereo installation a breeze.
Cons: Should of had a 3rd wiring harness in order to allow for quick and easy installation of the Maestro SW1.

As close as you can get to "Plug and Play". Get this kit and get your radio going properly. Works with the advertised connectors to wire your radio color-to-color quickly and reliably.
Pros: STYK - (Saves Time & Your Knuckles) Helps avoid CSTT - (Cry, Scream and Throw Things (unmanly, embarrassing and sometimes completely necessary if you did not get the proper parts))
Cons: Not for those who enjoy CSTT, STYK, and making a mess of a good wiring harness.

Bad quality control.
Crutchfield customer from Ocala, FL on 9/19/2019
2000 Nissan Frontier
I had a very diffucult problem to resolve with ths harness. My left side door speaker would not play reliably. I finally (after several hours) found that the new harness had been wired very sloppy at the factory. One pin inside the harness was crimped on the insulation instead of the copper part of the wire and would lose connection at random. I had to take the harness apart and re crimp the wire going to one pin. Very sloppy quality control.

Works fine for me
Crutchfield customer from Sunman, IN on 8/14/2019
2007 Nissan Pathfinder
Worked fine to connect a Boss BV755B to my Nissan Pathfinder's factory wiring. My only gripe was that the pins don't line up exactly due to them jiggling in the harness. My solution was to first make sure the pins were relatively straight, then hold my finger horizontally between the wires to hold the pins straight as I inserted into the Nissan wiring harness. It still required careful jiggling and angling to get it to click into place, but it only took a minute.
Pros: Universal connector!
Cons: Pins are naturally loose in the harness, making it difficult to align while plugging into the vehicle's harness.

Makes it easy to install a new head unit.
Cliff from Cartersville, GA on 12/6/2018
2005 Nissan Frontier
This makes it a simple task to install an aftermarket head unit into your vehicle. You just connect the wires from the head unit to this harness color to color, then plug it in, and everything works, even the dimmer for when you switch on your lights (as long as the new radio supports it). If you ever want to re-install the OEM unit, just un-plug the new unit, and plug the old one back in, it's that simple.
Pros: easy install, just wire it color to color
Cons: none

Average quality
Jay from Milford, OH on 9/9/2018
2007 Nissan Titan
These work just fine after you straighten out the pins so they will connect to the factory side. Mine came and the pins were sloppy, that is they kind of wiggled around. That made it har to get them all in the right place at the same time.
Pros: It does work. Wire colored are correct.
Cons: Difficult to connect, pins in connector have some wiggle and they tend to wiggle up or down, making it difficult to get them lined up with other side of connector.

To adapt the plugs to the wiring harness took more time and it did the install of the actual stereo. This is a good thing because all the wires were labeled printed on and color coded to match. I just took the time to make good connections and that is the reason to take so long. After all connections were made the plug fit perfectly and the stereos fit right in overall the entire installation went very well thank you

This installation harness makes wiring an aftermarket head unit a breeze. No looking at wiring diagrams and cutting and splicing wires. Just plug and play. Plug into the factory harness and match the standard color coded wires to the standard color coded wires from your head unit. No muss no fuss. An added bonus is that you can return your car back to OEM if you want with no fuss. Just unplug the after market head unit and plug the factroy unit back in. This harness and installation instructions from Crutchfield is a major reason to buy their products.

Luke from Monrovia, CA on 2/23/2017

For my 2004 Frontier I had to do a lot of research to get the cables right there were far less on this harness then in the vehicle. I also had to make a ground connection on the unit since the original unit receives the ground from the units face (there is no wire). There is a lot of talk on the internet an its wrong (about security feature not letting the new unit turn on) the unit wont turn on unless its grounded properly. hope this helps someone troubleshoot there new radio.
Pros: quick connect work great
Cons: not right amount of wires for original setup need to figure out which once you need to combined for it to work

Buy the wiring harness, you won't regret it.
Larry from Ft Thomas, KY on 12/18/2016

Great harness. Directions very good. I had replaced a few radios without using a harness in the past. That's a real pain in the butt. Buy a wiring harness for the install you won't regret it! This will save you so much time and headache. The other bonus to the wiring harness is that you can do it in you house when the weather is a bad. It was cold outside when I installed my radio, but I didn't spend much time out in the cold because I could do all the wiring in the house before I went out to the car to replace the radio.

Worked perfectly the first time
Timothy J. from Philadelphia, PA on 7/8/2016
2004 Nissan Frontier
This was so much easier than the first time I installed a car stereo 30 years ago. (You do, or course, have to solder or crimp the wires from your receiver's harness to this one.) It worked perfectly. One minor aside was that my Kenwood receiver harness had a ground wire which did not have a connection in this harness, and I had to find a grounded screw under the dash to attach it to.
Pros: Excellent quality wiring and connections, worked perfectly

It all went smoothly with the factory plugs. I had to search the Crutchfield support to find out about the Nissan ground is not in the harness. Also, the color coding for one of the wires didn't match my Pioneer receiver exactly, orange to orange/white. Overall, it went together easily.
Pros: Makes connection easier.

No reason to install without it
pwhill from Ponder, TX on 1/2/2016
1997 Nissan Hardbody
The Metra factory wiring harnesses are the only way to install an aftermarket unit. No cutting or splicing into factory harnesses. You can wire up the aftermarket harness on a workbench outside of the vehicle. Best option is soldered connections, but crimp connectors may also be used. For this Nissan adapter, the only wire not connected through the harness is the ground wire. Nissan grounds through the factory unit chassis. You will need to add a ring connector and ground your aftermarket unit separately. Otherwise, this harness makes adding an aftermarket unit a plug and play operation.
Pros: Ease of use Completion of wiring outside of vehicle No cutting into factory harness
Cons: None

Exact match for my vehicle. made installation so much easier.
Pros: Not only matched my vehicle, a 1996 Nissan Maxima GXE, exactly; but the wires also matched the color coding on the new double-DIN radio that I bought.
Cons: I wish the wires for the wiring harness, and those for the new radio, came with quick disconnects so that I did not have to use wire splicers and crimping for each individual wire.

Garye from California on 9/13/2015

I made all of the required connection. Plugged the Metra plug into my Nissan jack and the other end into the Kenwood socket, turned on the power and the Kenwood was playing music in my truck.
Pros: It was easy to use. Pinouts are on package.
Cons: Some of the wires coming from the Metra plug were pre-stripped and not used on my truck so I had to insulate them.

Don't overlook the Details
Geo.C from California on 1/21/2015

If you expect to have a quality install - you need to have the correct wiring harnesses. And you need to know the wiring layout. Then it's just a matter of matching wire functions between your vehicle and the deck that you are installing. Either crimp or solder the matching wires - I soldered mine and used shrink wrap to finish off the splices. I then shrink wrapped the individual unused wires, add a few tie wraps ... Thing of beauty.
Pros: Ready to go - no muss, no fuss.
Cons: None

Just solder
JasonB from Salt Lake City on 1/15/2015
2005 Nissan Sentra
The harness did make things much easier, but 2 things: 1. The wires from the harness were not the same size as the receiver wiring harness. This isn't a problem but I wanted to be lazy and use butt splices, because the sizes were different the wires kept pulling out of the splices and I ended up soldering them. 2. One of the pins pulled out of the header while I was installing the receiver (after soldering all the wires in mentioned above) and so it took a fair amount of troubleshooting before I found the problem. (this part is my bad) when I put the pin back I put it into the wrong spot, and then spent 45 mins trying to get the pin back out so I could put it in the correct spot. Ended up being very frustrating.

Now, this, Metra you get right. Wiring adapters are definitely your forte. Do keep making these quality parts. Do not change the way you make these. Do look at your other product offerings though.
Pros: Having one of these is great. You can solder your connections on your bench and plug it right in in the car.

Online chat provided the exact link I needed. Being a somewhat universal Nissan harness, there are some wires not used. It was great to call and ask a tech who immediately could help me with what I needed. The harness snaps right in to the existing couplers after you solder your radio wiring to it.
Pros: works like it's supposed to technical service right there when you need it
Cons: would it kill Nissan to put a ground wire in their harness? (nothing against this product)

Frontier Wire Harness

Super easy connections. It's been a decade since I last did a swap. New technology is here. Now the adapter harness has the same color wiring as the original. Instructions are clear and "correct". I usuallyget my packages late in the day so I spent some time making clean tight connections that night. The following day I popped the dash cover off and the three connections took just a minute. Great value.

Receiver wiring harness

The wiring harness makes you feel like a pro even if your a novice. The wiring harness is a must if you want to save yourself some gray hair and you want to get it done right the first time. Thank you so very much Crutchfield!!!!! You saved me a lot of time and confusion by supplying me with a high quality harness like this one.
Pros: Very easy to use. I have used many different Crutchfield wiring harnesses in the past and they are always spot on in every vehicle( and there has been many). Anyone that's installing a receiver or a complete system and you want to save a lot of confusion and time, try Crutchfields wiring harness and adapters. You won't be sorry!!!!! I used the wiring harness on a 350z and there's nothing easy about working on the electronics in these vehicles, but Crutchfield made this install flawless.
Cons: No cons for these Crutchfield products. You saved me a lot of time, money, confusion, and gray hair.

These wires freely give up their electrons to easily conduct electrici
Mark from Baltimore, MD on 1/6/2014
These wires are made of copper, which aside from Silver, is the element that gives up it's electrons most easily to allow the coduction of electricity. (I'm doing a review of 12 inces of wire. I've got to say something to make this interesting!)
Pros: They come with an easy to follow wiring diagram and plug right in to both the head unit and the facotry wiring harness.
Cons: They don't cause a tear in the fabric of spacetime that results in good looking women bring large bags of money to my door. It'd be really cool if these wires could make that happen. But they can't.

Made for an Easy Install in 2001 Nissan Frontier
Crutchfield customer from NC on 2/25/2013

These adapter plugs work nicely to allow a "no-cut" installation for the factory stereo connections. Depending on the radio features it is necessary to prune the harness for unused wires.
Pros: Connectors and wires are quality units that plug in without issue. Connectors come apart without too much fuss to remove unused wires.
Cons: Kit would be better if it included the additional plug to allow connection of the steering wheel controls without cutting the factory harness.

Perfect. Fit exactly and clear instructions. You will have to match the wires to the stereo wires and connect them with crimpers, which I don't trust or solder them. I always solder and use heat shrink tubing to cover the connection. Looks better and will not fall appart.
Pros: Colors are standard so easy to match to the stereo adaptor.
Cons: You need to know how to solder or at the very least use crimpers (which I don't trust).

Easy job
JacksonD from Tucson, AZ on 6/5/2012
2002 Nissan Frontier
The harness and plugs were easy to solder to the unit's plug. I was a little concerned that the Sony wiring was so tiny! Crutchfield's gauge is much more reasonable, and thank goodness, because it provided a good bed for the little wire to nest in for the soldering. My instructions directed me to do a different-than-expected hookup to the radio, but they were right on for my vehicle (Nissan Frontier). It plays beautifully.
Pros: Good product quality. Excellent instructions.

StevenT from Raleigh, NC on 3/4/2012

I was intimidated at first when I realized I wouldn't be able to just unplug my old stereo to switch in the new 1. I finally looked over the instructions and went to the store to get the supplies I needed. Everything was color-coded and the instructions were car-specific, telling me what would not be used and what would. It was very easy to splice the wiring harness together and then it just plugged right into the car and head unit. EASY!
Pros: Easy to understand the instructions, wiring was explained so that it could be done painlessly. Plug and play after assembly!
Cons: The kit didn't come with anything to splice the wiring together but I understand that people connect the wires differently. No big deal!

These wiring harnesses are ready for most installs. The wiring was definitely overwhelming at first but once you start connecting wires it becomes much easier. Instructions were fairly clear but some previous knowledge of your factory system is required (if there is a factory amp or not). No worried though if you have any questions the support staff is very helpful.
Pros: Nice diagrams and color code for the wires matched the harness for the head unit wires came pre stripped No cutting was needed the extra wire for both harnesses fit into the dash

This was a great wiring harness adapter. Was able to take the harness inside and do all my soldering in the nice warm house. It also came with a very easy to follow diagram. The only odd thing was once I installed it I realized that the radio stays on untill I power it off even after I turn the car off lol. However it's not the products fault(probably just connected a wire where I shouldnt have)and I actually enjoy it.

Great Harness!
ShawnM from Sarasota, FL on 6/10/2011
I was going to buy my Kenwood CD player from a local store. They had it for cheaper, but that didn't include the faceplate and the wire harness. The other factor is that after waiting for 45 minutes, the employees kept helping 16 year olds just walking into the store instead of helping someone that had been waiting! My only complaint with the wire harness is that I have the upgraded factory radio system and I had 3 harnesses from the car and only 2 harnesses from the Crutchfield harness. I was a little concerned, but after I verified that all of the wires had been connected, there shouldn't be a problem. I plugged it in and turned it on before I finished the install and it worked great! I wish Crutchfield would have mentioned why my car had an extra harness from my factory radio.

This is an absolute must if you are planning on installing an aftermarket radio. Crimp/solder the wires in the house and just plug it in during installation. Would have preferred to have a connector on the end of the wire to make installation even easier. To anyone with a 350z: the blue power antenna wire needs to be hooked up. The Z does not have a power antenna but that wire goes to the antenna amplifier that needs to be plugged in. Radio reception was horrible until I figured this out.

Don't even think about trying to install an aftermarket system without a harness. Assembled the harness on the kitchen table, tokk to the car and plugged it in. Worked first time. Michael from South Riding, VA on 5/11/2009
2005 Nissan Sentra
I was initially confused because my factory stereo had 3 harness plugs in the back of it, but this adapter only includes two. After a bit of sleuthing I figured out that the third harness was the pre-wire for Nissan's satellite radio option. I should have just called Crutchfield -- they probably could have told me that right off the bat. Other than that all the wire colors matched and I went the soldering route for secure connections.

Quick and Easy

2003 Nissan Altima
This item came with my stereo and speakers that I bought for my 2003 Nissan Altima without the Bose system. Installation was easy. It snapped right together with the car wire harness. All I had to do was match the colors while referring to the wiring diagram and then connects the wires with a wire connector. Whole install took about 20 minutes!!!

Hope you like to solder
Dave from Kansas on 4/7/2009
2002 Nissan Frontier
This came with the radio that I bought for my 2002 Nisan Frontier pickup. I expected to be able to just plug the wiring in and be ready to go. If you notice, there are 15 wires, you'll have to solder all of them to 15 wires coming from the radio. Be sure and do this before you install the radio. You'll figure out which wires go where by comparing the radio wiring diagram to the adapter diagram matching up wires that don't necessarily follow a color code. Have fun.

Perfect
guitartoys from McLean, VA on 3/26/2009
This worked perfectly. I have a 2008 350Z with the Bose stereo and subwoofer I feared that I would have trouble with the built in amps and potentially loosing my built in sub. However, this worked perfectly. Also, the color coding of the wiring harness matches standard after market wiring, so all you really needed to do was match the colors. All I lost was voice nav for my GPS, which I never use anyway. Even the dashboard lighting worked for my Pioneer stereo Recommended

2001 Nissan Sentra
This wiring harness was a perfect fit to my factory stereo plugs. No antenna adapter was necessary, and the color coding was a match to my head unit. However, my Sentra has the extended sound package, which includes tweeters in the windshield pillars, a factory amp and 6" subwoofer in the rear deck. I was able to still utilize the amp and sub without having to run new wires via my head units preamp outputs by connecting the "power antenna" on my HU to the "amp turn-on" on the wiring harness, and the "ground" on my HU to the "amp ground" on the wiring harness. Everything works, and the sound is great. Next up will be upgrading the speakers and sub. Crutchfield provided me with quick shipping, and plenty of install guidelines.

Thank you Crutchfield for simplifying the wiring harness. Color coded and written locations on the wires is a nice touch for matching the harness to the new head unit.

2001 Nissan Xterra
Brett from Denver, CO on 2/28/2009
For my install, it didn't get any easier than this. I replaced a factory radio with the new head unit. Just plug the adapter cables (wires) to the factory cables, then match the colors of the wires to the head unit wires and connect them together. I used the solder method since I think it is more reliable. And then plug the other end into the back of the new head unit. Very easy! And, if you have trouble figuring out the wiring, just call Crutfield's tech department and they will most likely be able to help get your question aswered or problem solved! Great group working there. Very helpful!

Worth the Money
Jerick from Burlington, ND on 2/22/2009
This thing was great! It made everything really easy to install because you just clip these into the old wiring harnesses and solder (or wire nut) them to the wiring harness of the new cd player. Everything is color-coded, so it is really easy. Well worth the price.

Metra 70-7550 Receiver Wiring Harness

Worked perfectly. Only problem is that all the adapters and wires create a ton of wiring in the back. Colors matched perfectly with stock wires and new receivers wires (as they should). I used crimping to connect the wires.

Easy Again
Clayton from Phoenix, AZ on 10/29/2008
2005 Nissan Altima
As with other harnesses I have used from Crutchfield this one fits perfectly. I spent more time trying to figure out how to remove the trim pieces from my '05 Altima than doing the wiring. Yes, figuring out which wires from the stereo match the adapter can take some time but you can't expect that a vendor provide instructions for every stereo/car combination. Never again will I use a multimeter to find which wire goes to what power/ground/speaker/antenna when I can simply push two connectors together.

This is the second wiring harness I've received from Crutchfield, both for Sony head units. While there is basically three sets of instructions that you have to read and understand, it's not impossible and I got it all right the first time on both models.

Sitting comfortably in my kitchen and matching up the wire harness to my Sony stereo was easy and made installation a snap. I would have preferred a snap-splice device to the soldering I decided to do (didn't have crimp terminals in m garage), but it was still easier than trying to install my Sony in the factory wire harness without the adapter.

I bought a new JVC receiver for my 2001 Nissan Sentra and this harness worked great! Most colors were easily matched and the few I had questions on, I easily called the customer reps who guided me through it! Once again, Crutchfield helped me save $50+ dollars for installation for 15 minutes of soldering!

Does not fit 2008 Nissan Xterra
Bill from Nashville, TN on 8/9/2008
2008 Nissan Xterra
Aside from the antenna plug, the 2008 model, at least mine with the base (not Rockford Fosgate) head unit, has only one plug with very small pins on it as opposed to two plugs with the larger pins that have been standard for so many years in Nissans. This wiring harness comes up as a fit for my vehicle, but I was really dismayed to find out it doesn't fit after wasting my time wiring it all up to my would-have-been-new head unit. Really disappointed by Crutchfield's lack of homework this time around. [Editor's Note: Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and I apologize for the troubles you experienced. We have updated our database to reflect the new, correct harness, item#120707552.]

Excellent Product
Ben from SoJo, NJ on 12/5/2006
2001 Nissan Xterra
This is another great product from Crutchfield. I ordered a CD receiver and they threw this jem in - gratis. I couldn't have asked for more. I spent about 1/2 an hour soldering this harness up to the wiring harness that came with my new receiver. It was exremely simple. The wire colors even matched the ones on my receiver harness. When I went to install it in my 2001 Xterra... click, click... I was done. It saved a bunch of time and it was very convenient to solder it in my house rather than soldering or crimping under my dash. And it was free! Not to mention the money they saved me by not having to get it installed. I'm a serious advocate of good customer service and Crutchfield has me with this one. A great value-add. They also threw in a mounting set up for my Xterra. An awesome deal. Cheers!

[2000 Nissan XTerra] This was too easy!
Craig from Lake Jackson, TX on 8/9/2006
2000 Nissan Xterra
This thing was too easy! All the colors match up PLUS each wire is labeled as to what it is. There is plenty of wire length to do your business, but not so much that it becomes cubersome or crowded. It went together very smoothly, and fit the radio connections on the vehicle with no problems. Makes me wonder why anyone would ever pay someone else to do this. Crutchfield has made my life easy. I'll be a return customer.

Painless installation for Nissan

This was purchased to make the connection easier to the OEM wiring harness of my '03 Frontier. With the crimp kit and a little bit of time, this installed perfectly to my existing wires with a solid 'click'. I taped off the wires I didn't need to use (amp, illumination dimmer, etc.) and the new unit works great! A must-have!!!!
