Does Not Fit
Kyle from Salina, KS on 4/27/2025
1999 Ford F-150
Does NOT fit the speakers that I ordered. The harness pigtail did plug into the Ford ok, but the other end did not connect to my RF speakers that I ordered. I had to cut the existing ends and connect a different end. Pretty disappointed when a "specialized" harness is supposed to be plug and play and its obviously not.

Uncompatible with Factory harness

Look good on the picture but does not work correctly castings on the hard shell are too thick for use. Would not connect to factory harness pins seem too big . Unfortunately a big disappointment. Been a Crutchfield customer for an extremely long time and have nothing but good things to say up until today. Yes I am complaining about something you gave me for free but it did not work created major workaround cut connectors off old speakers soldered wires on to connect to new speakers.
Pros: Great concept
Cons: Does not work poor engineering and or research on this product.

Pins will slowly back out of plastic connector!
Robert from Plattsmouth, NE on 12/6/2023
2006 Ford F-150
Worked for about 4-5 months, negative pin on both harnesses slowly backed out of connector causing popping/cutting out of sound in speakers. Had me chasing my tail looking for an issue with my HU or the speakers themselves. Jerry rigged one so I could at least listen while the replacements from a different company came. Can't beat a free part though. So it gets an extra star.
Pros: Worked for a few months just fine.
Cons: Negative pins backed out of connector resulting in popping/crackling. Or complete loss of sound.

Crystal clear. Don't need a bunch of power to make them super loud. Inline crossovers make installing them even easier than most components out there. My only gripe is they down have mounting clamps for the back of the flush mount housings. Hot glue took care if that though so no star loss.
Pros: Shallow mounting for the woofers. Crystal clear. Good quality feel. In-line crossovers. Not overly bright.
Cons: No mounting brackets for tweeter flush mount housings. Press fit or hot glue.

Poor quality
Mark from Punta Gorda, FL on 4/14/2023
2010 Ford Escape
Normally these would make the install so much easier and quicker, however the poor quality actually slowed down the project. First, the female spade connectors are too tight to allow them to be pushed onto the male blade on the speaker. I used a very small flat blade screwdriver to open the connector just enough to allow the connector to slip on, but still make a good connection. I had to do this on all 4 harnesses. Also, one of the speakers would not work after hooking it up. After a little troubleshooting, I found that when the 2 pin connector, (The connector that attaches the harness to the car's harness) was pushed together, one of the pins pushed out of the back of the connector. There is a little tab and flange that is supposed to lock the pin with the plastic housing, but it was broken so the pin could be pushed up and out of the connector.
Pros: Normally would the install go much faster with the correct audio connections.
Cons: Poor quality of the connectors themselves.

Wayne from White, GA on 11/6/2022

These things are poorly manufactured. The pins are thin and must be aligned to slide into the OEM speaker connector, therefore extremely easy to bend. One of the 3/16 crimp-on quick connects fell off because it was just barely gripping the wire insulation and the conductors were folded over the insulation as if the intent was to crimp onto insulation and conductor because the wire is too small for the quick connect. Crimping insulation is simply poor practice. These were included "free" with the drivers, but I had rather not be forced to buy crap and left to purchase that by my own decision.
Pros: None that I can see unless you're an installer that doesn't care as long as the job gets done and you make more money on call backs.
Cons: Poorly manufactured and assembled. Simple as that.

Very nice to plug and go. Its a better conection then criping wires that sometimes dont get a good conection. Then you need to heat shrink to keep water, mosture away from the conection.
Pros: Nice to plug and go.
Cons: Wire conection to speaker terminal very tight. Dont want to break the terminal.

One of the harnesses did not have the pins secured in the plug that connects to the OEM jack. When I connected them. it pushed the pins out of the back of the housing. I was able to repair it by securing the pins from the rear with some epoxy. The other harness was fine. This may have been a fluke. I have never had a problem with a Crutchfield part, and I plan to be a customer for life.
Pros: Correct fit for OEM speaker jack.
Cons: May sample was poorly assembled.

The only thing I can't give a 5 star rating to. the pins were all off center and the first one I tried to connect to the vehicle's harness pushed the pins out the back of the connector. I had to bend each connectors pins to line up with the car harness' connector. Should be a warning to check each pin for alignment. Other than that great part to save time.
Pros: Saves time and keeps original equipment harness intact.
Cons: Watch out for connector pin alignment.

Conversion Harness
Crutchfield customer from Farr West, UT on 12/12/2021
2009 Ford Edge
These aftermarket harnesses will connect new speakers in a Ford Edge but if your vehicle is similar to mine you'll end up with one unused connection in the front. In my case the situation required calls to tech support as instructions didn't explain that Ford uses two connection points on their factory speakers. JBL club 8226F have only one attachment point for wiring to a stereo. After discovering the harnesses only fit into one of of the two ford wire hubs then I realized what needed to be done. The conversion plugs weren't easy to to fit either so I used a small screw driver to release the locking pin to make a snugger fit. Otherwise I'm happy with the final product although one local stereo shop explained they don't use conversion plugs and prefer soldering wires to make connections with new speakers.
Pros: Harnesses will work
Cons: Lacking instruction and not easy to connect.

Flimsy product, poor quality, barely work
William from Panama City, FL on 6/30/2021
2005 Ford Taurus SE
Great idea for a product, but the design is cheap, and in my 05 Taurus, they would not plug all the way in, regardless of hard I pushed, one went in, but the prongs popped out. I managed to get two to barely fit in, they will not push in and snap though, and have them electrical taped in the hopes that they don't fall out, so I can at least have some music while driving, until I can figure out a better way to replace the speakers, probably will have to cut the factory harness and splice in connectors, which defeats the entire purpose of these. I'm assuming either the pins are causing it, or something, as others seem to have that issue as well.
Pros: Can keep the factory connector Makes installation faster
Cons: Cheap, flimsy, won't snap into factory connector.

Used these when replacing the factory 8 inch speakers in my 2007 mx5. They are the right shape for the factory harness but were difficult to get pushed into plug. I was able to get the passenger side in but the drivers side would not go. It actually popped one of the wires out of the metra plug. Without that wire in, the two plugs would push together easily. Only thing I can guess is the metra pins are spaced just a bit to far out out in the plug compared to the pins in the factor 8 inch speaker plug and they are not lining up with the factor plug holes. Was unable to make the one metra plug work.

Nice idea... but.....
Robert from REDMOND, WA on 4/15/2021
2005 Ford Expedition
Might save some time, but maybe not.... When I went to use these, they would not plug into the factory connectors. I had to pry the contacts more toward the center of the black connector housing to get the connectors to mate with the factory plugs. I installed these on 4 speakers and had the same issue on all of them. Second problem is that they add wire length which can be caught in window mechanisms. That actually happened on one of mine. Also, these add another connector between your speaker and the head unit, which given the choice, is not desirable. So.. I ditched these and crimped speaker compatible connectors directly onto the factory wiring. Yes, I had to cut off the factory connector, but I'm never going back to factory speakers anyway. Now I have a cleaner and more reliable installation.
Pros: Nice idea?
Cons: Creates extra wire length that can get caught in window mechanisms Tabs needed to be bent to get them to plug in. Adds an extra connection point (impedance) in your wiring.

Poor quality pin retention
Steve from Hampton, VA on 4/13/2021
2010 Ford Escape
The wiring harness was the correct one for a 2010 Escape, but the quality of the terminals was poor. When the connector was inserted to the mating side on the door, the pins pushed out of the housing (see photo). On close examination, the retention mechanism was only a dimple on the pin rather than a tab. As an automotive electrical engineer, I work with these types of issues professionally. The quality of the pin is very poor and could be improved. Crutchfield did offer to replace, but other customers are going to have similar issues.
Pros: correct fit for my vehicle, Crutchfield did offer to send new ones.
Cons: bad quality

Works as advertised, slight difficulty plugging in
David from Garner, NC on 2/22/2021
2012 Chevrolet Camaro
for the 2012 Camaro Coupe w/o Boston acoustics, this product does fit.....however, it takes a little elbow grease to plug the adapter into the factory harness completely. The adapter's plastic housing is slightly thicker than the factory speaker plug, so the fit is much tighter - it'll take some umph, and I suggest connecting the adapter to the factory harness BEFORE connecting the +/- terminals on your new speaker, trust me. All-in-all, it works exactly as advertised - once connection is made, new speakers work perfectly.
Pros: Works - new speakers use factory harness and play perfectly
Cons: Not really a Con, but takes some effort to plug adapter into factory harness - be careful

These connectors are very valuable in that its simply plug and play to connect the speakers to the factory harness. The reason for the 3 stars is they were all a huge pain to get to plug in to the factory harness. I think only one I got to go in all the way. The pins just aren't lining up correctly with the connector. We even tried plugging in one of the old speakers again and it fit fine. This was on a 2010 Ford Escape.
Pros: Fits a need to connect aftermarket speakers to the factory connector
Cons: Very difficult to get it to connect to the factory connector.

Don't fit and constantly falling apart.
Crutchfield customer from New Orleans, LA on 12/28/2020
2007 Ford F-150
Wouldn't connect properly to my Ford F150's factory wiring. I tried not forcing the connections and they came apart. I tried forcing the connections and the wires just get pushed out the back end of the plastic and come apart at that point. One also came loose at the speaker connection. Unless you really enjoy taking your door panels apart, do yourself a favor and just cut the factory wire behind the plastic connector and splice wire directly from there to the speaker terminals.
Pros:
Cons: Didn't connect properly.

Fits vehicle connector, but polarity is reversed
Armand from Palo Alto, CA on 10/8/2020
2004 Ford Focus
The quality of the Metra harness connectors and wires is good as always; however, for a group of vehicles including my 2004 Ford Focus with OEM Blaupunkt headunit, the factory in-door speaker wiring polarity is reversed compared to the Metra harness. On the Metra harness, the spade connector for the + speaker terminal is on the white wire, but that connects to the side of the OEM connector opposite its key. On the OEM in-door connector, the + polarity is on the side closest to the key, and the - polarity is on the side opposite the key. Thus, to avoid switching polarity, I had to cut the Metra wires in the middle and swap them, soldering them in place so the white/+ spade connects to the key side of the OEM connector, and the black/- spade connects to the side of the OEM connector opposite the key. I've uploaded photos of my OEM door speaker connector, and of my modified Metra 5600 harness.
Pros: Mates well with Ford Focus 2004 stock in-door speaker connector. Spade connectors fit my new speaker terminals
Cons: At least for this model/year Ford, the wire polarity is reversed compared to the factory in-door speaker wiring connector.

These work well, however the pins don't exactly line up with the female end connected to the vehicle. So, if you aren't careful the pins will get pushed out the back of the connector. I had to gently bend the pins inward to allow proper insertion into the connector.
Pros: - Makes short work of speaker install. - Looks clean
Cons: - Not a dead on design, it may take some convincing to plug in properly.

Force upon force
Crutchfield customer from Clovis, CA on 9/6/2020
2009 Ford Escape Hybrid
This adapter ended up working out fine only after I called tech support and was advised to use more force to make it lock into place. I've made my share of mistakes when applying too much force during repairs and installations over time that this adapter first appeared to be too deep as the plastic looks about 1-2 mm deeper than the OEM speaker equivalent. Due to the appearance and significant force I was applying I was nearly convinced I would need a different adapter even though the 72-5600 is the most commonly available and reviewed part.
Pros: Much easier than hard wiring.
Cons: Fitment could be improved.

I ordered new speakers to replace the one's damaged trying to use these wiring adapters the 1st time. After speaking with the technical support department, I was informed they knew beforehand that these wiring adapters did not work. But Crutchfield sent them again with the new order. Before even trying to use them this time, I contacted the technical support dept, they told me I should have known they would not work (Again, blame the customer). If Crutchfield knew they would not work in advance, why did they send them again? The only thing their "lifetime guarantee" is good for, is to tell the customer they should have know before using this product.

Polarity is wrong for Fords
Crutchfield customer from Collierville, TN on 6/22/2020
2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty
As many have discovered, the Metra 72-5600 speaker harness adapters are assembled with the incorrect polarity for Fords. It's hard to complain about a product that Crutchfield includes for free, but they are definitely assembled WRONG. And this isn't a new issue either. If you search online for this same product you will find reviews dating back to 2015 and earlier complaining of the incorrect polarity. Will Metra ever acknowledge the issue and correct it? Even worse, there's no telling how many unsuspecting customers have installed their brand new speakers wrong over the years and aren't getting to enjoy the full potential of their investment. @Crutchfield: You need to pull this product immediately until the Metra corrects the issue.
Pros: Nice idea
Cons: Poor execution

Not Great, but Usable
Crutchfield customer from Augusta, GA on 6/3/2020
1999 Ford F-150
I used these harnesses in my '99 F-150. I got a set about two years ago, and another set this week. Both times, none of the harnesses have clipped into the truck's harness. They slide in, but do not engage with the clip. They must be secured with zip ties to ensure they stay plugged in. Also, the positive and negative terminals have been backwards both times. Again, easy fix. Just cut the two connectors off, swap them around and crimp/solder back on. After these modifications, they do work. They haven't given me any functionality problems and are definitely better than cutting the factory harness. However, you'd think that by now they would figure out that they're making these incorrectly. I'd recommend them anyways, since they're free with purchase.
Pros: Usable, Decent Quality, Good Value
Cons: Requires Modification to Work

The attached pink clips did not fit the Rockford Fosgate P1683 speakers I purchased. Crutchfield did include a small bag of of Metra Female Quick Slide blue clips. They fit the prongs on the speaker, but seemed a little loose to me. I ended up just soldering the connection and forgoing the clips.

Win Some & Lose Some

Bought two sets of speakers for a 2000 F150. Crutchfield supplied the adapters to make the install mush easier and cleaner. That's why i am a huge fan of Crutchfield! Unfortunately the first package i opened was not crimped or possibly pinned correctly? Causing a great amount of frustration. These would not push on to the OEM speaker plug far enough to lock in place. I tried an easy wiggle, i tried a aggressive wiggle. The two pins popped out of the harness. Both door speakers. Ended up cutting the wires and soldering the speaker connections. The second package i opened... for the rear speakers, flawless! Simple pressure and they locked right into the OEM harness. 3 stars is really 2.5! 1/2 worked 1/2 didn't!

Great Idea, Poor Execution. 2013 Camaro LS
Dwight from Las Vegas, NV on 4/25/2020
Was expecting these to be a direct plug in for 2013 Non-BA camaro per Crutchfield recommendation.... when time came to install, these did not plug in to the harness as described. After I trimmed the top moldings from each plug and "finessed" them into the female plug, I was able to seat them with a bit of ingenuity....they can work, with a bit of effort.
Pros: 1. Crutchfield included for free.
Cons: 1. Had to modify heavily in order to make these work.

Made installing my new speakers easy. I did however cut the butt connectors off and soldered them for a better connection. I did have to zip tie the wires to the door frame to prevent them from getting caught by the power window, but that is the design of the car, not the fault of these adaptors.

Didn't fit
Crutchfield customer from Berwick, PA on 4/19/2020
2005 Ford Focus ZX4
I've used these before on my Jeep with no issues, actually made the job easier Unfortunately either Crutchfield sent the wrong adapter or these are not manufacture well because they were to long to clip in to the factory plug so I ended up having to solder anyway and I don't like to solder inside a car, if I could give this particular set a zero star I would because other than salvaging the wire which already had the adapter crimped on for connecting to the speaker terminal they were completely useless for their intended purpose. They were included for free with my order so I didn't spend money on them A plus I guess if I have to say something positive
Pros: None for this particular pair
Cons: Didn't fit factory plug

Works but the polarity is backwards for my specific vehicle
Matthew from Hattiesburg, MS on 1/13/2020
2006 Ford Mustang
Make sure that you verify which wires are positive and negative before you just install your speakers with this harness. For my specific vehicle, 2006 Mustang, the polarity of the harness was backwards. This is a simple fix, just remove the pins/wires from the connector and switch them, no need to cut and solder them. Other than the positive and negative being reversed, this definitely made my speaker install easier. If you install the harness with reversed polarity, your speakers will still work but you will not be getting the best sound of them because the cone is moving in the wrong direction. A lot of people have probably used this harness wired wrong and don't even realize it.

I'm sure these work great, but they're only useful if your car has the Premium Sound option from the factory. If you don't have that option, the mating plugs in the door or pillar wiring harness are not connected to anything, and you'll need to use the regular factory speaker wiring and reterminate those wires to hook up to the new speaker.

These were very close to what my Buick Encore had for a harness but were not exact. The shape of the plug was close but did not have angles corners to fit the vehicle's plug. Caution for Camaro users
Jon from Chardon, OH on 8/30/2018
These are suppose to be the 5th Gen Camaro front speaker wire adapter answer. Not bad for a ford adapter used for a Camaro. After a lot of massaging the edges. I was able to force them into the car plug while aligning the pins. They worked finally but just a heads up as I suppose this is better than cutting the factory plug off.
Pros: Just slightly better than cutting off factory plug if you can get pins lined up and force it together enough to produce continuity
Cons: Not the correct plug for the 5th Gen Camaro but this is what Crutchfield will send you. It's for a ford so heads up.

Metra 72-5600 Speaker Wiring Harness
Steven from Pine Bluff, AR on 7/30/2018
These were easy to install, and definitely simplified installation. The only small negative thing I could possibly say is that the negative connector was too small. However, Crutchfield included 2 free bags of female spade connectors. So, I spent maybe an extra 30 seconds clipping, stripping, and crimping per each speaker.
Pros: Easy to install, retains factory plug, and makes installation quicker.
Cons: Negative female spade connectors are too small for some speakers.

These are great wiring harnesses. Fit perfectly to my 2006 F250 factory connectors. The female spades on these didn't quite fit my Rockford Fosgate speakers. I think these would fit Pioneer though, based on a set of Pioneers I had in my garage. Not Metra's fault for that and no big deal. I soldered the Metra harness to my RF speakers. Then I just plug them in to the factory wiring and good to go! Added benefit of using the harness vs soldering into factory wiring is the harness already has the phase sorted out, no mixing up your + and -. The factory wiring is odd colors too, I think my factory wiring was orange and green... So the harness handles that perfectly.
Pros: Easy to use, matches factory connection perfectly.

Are you positive it's the positive?
Ed from Albuquerque, NM on 3/4/2018
2010 Ford Focus
As far as I could determine and as many other also discovered, the Metra 72-5600 adaptors have the positive and negative pins backwards which results in speakers being driven in reverse polarity. The speakers still sound good but are driving the sound back rather than forward. For best speaker performance you should have the polarity correct. The Ford connection we had, has the positive pin next to the alignment ears of the plug while the adapter harness has the negative pin in that location. This was verified by testing original speakers, new speakers and output wiring in vehicle. This resulted in having to remove all four speakers, modifying the harnesses and reinstalling them with the polarity corrected. See photo for comparison. The Metra connector is on top of the original Ford connector for easier comparison. The white wire with larger spade connector should be on the left, on the positive pin and it is on the right, the negative pin. Design flaw by Metra for this 2010 Ford, suspect all post 1999 Fords are the same but have not confirmed that and also that all speaker positive terminals are the large blade / white wire but suspect so since that is standard in U.S.
Pros: Supplies adapter you need to replicate Ford OEM speaker connector
Cons: You have to cut and re-splice wiring to make polarity correct.

The one problem I had with this connector was the end that connects to the speaker was a little small and very difficult to put on the terminal lug. In fact the plastic bracket on the speaker where the lug sits broke while trying to connect this connecter. I had to insert a small screwdriver and spread the rest open so it would fit and not break anymore lugs. Wish I would have know that one the first one.

They do work, with modifications.
Mckenzie from Grovetown, GA on 12/20/2017
1999 Ford F-250 Light Duty
These connectors will work, but have several issues. I was able to make them work, but they aren't perfect by any means. First off, the connectors will not properly clip into the factory harness. Something is off to the point where the clip will not secure over the bump on the harness. I was able to secure it with zip ties, and it should work fine. Second, the polarity is reversed. The female spade connectors are on the opposite wires of what they should be. This wasn't a problem for me, as I had to cut them off anyway to get bare wire for my screw-terminal speakers, but for anyone that needs the spade connectors, be prepared to cut and solder or crimp on new ones properly. Other than that, they do their job. They keep you from having to destroy the factory harness to adapt to new speakers. And getting these for free with my purchase, I can't really complain. Just beware!
Pros: It does its job
Cons: Does not clip into factory harness, Reversed polarity

I had just installed all new wiring harnesses in my crewcab truck so I was nut eager to cut off the factory speaker ends to connect to my new speakers. These adapters did the trick and made the install plug and play. Only issue was the speaker end of the harnesses did not fit the speaker terminal.
Pros: Convenient, easy plugin to the factory harness; no cutting of the factory harness; correct and consistent polarity among all four harnesses; well assembled; large and small spade connectors on the speaker ends to properly connect to correct speaker terminal.
Cons: Speaker ends of the harness did not fit the terminals on my speakers.

John from Worcester, MA on 7/26/2017

These allow water from inside the door to get into the stock Ford weather pack connector and cause corrosion to the terminals eventually causing a bad connection and raising the impedance also. The stock Ford connectors are sealed but these are not and have open holes in them where the wires connect at the back of the connector. I had to take mine apart after a year, clean the contacts, and then seal them back up with silicone grease to prevent that from happening again. The + and - terminals are also all the same even though you have a left and right speakers so the polarity ends up backwards causing phasing issues and reduced bass output. I verified this with my Audio Control App speaker pop test and after correcting it noticed improved mid bass response. Lucky I have a DSP where I can easily switch the polarity of the speakers electronically and not have to go inside the door to cut/solder wires.
Pros: To the uneducated customer they seem great and clip right to the stock Ford connectors
Cons: They cheaped out by not making the connector sealed like the stock Ford connector are and in the wet environment of a car door are doomed to fail.

great free addition but I would not buy separate
Kevin from Plainfield, IL on 12/21/2016
2006 Mazda Tribute
Fit perfectly in our 2006 Mazda Tribute. I buy from Crutchfield because I like the selection and the prices are comparable to other sites. I have to admit, any handyman would probably have the parts to hook up a system without needing these "special" harnesses and you would destroy the old harness without these but they do make the job easier. In other words, these are unnecessary to change out factory speakers with new aftermarket ones, but they do make the job a little bit easier and quicker. I would not have paid for these alone but since they came free with the purchase of the speakers, I used them and they work great.
Pros: Free and make hooking up the aftermarket speakers slightly quicker and easier
Cons: I wouldn't pay extra for these. Anyone could easily strip and bypass the factory harness but since they were free, they are a welcome addition to my new speakers.

Fit issue on male end
Bill M from Bartlett, IL on 10/2/2016
2005 Ford Focus ZX5
Bought two of these to adapt aftermarket speakers to my Ford's wiring harness. One fit perfectly but the other would not seat firmly (i.e. all the way down on the pins) at the male end. After a lot of trying I taped it in position about halfway down, which made sufficient electrical contact, and used a cable tie to provide strain relief, which I'm sure will work fine.
Pros: Easy, solid connection to factory wiring harness, at least in theory.
Cons: Molded male end of one adapter seems too small to accept factory fitting. Don't know if it's the adapter's fault or Ford's.

Double check your wiring diagrams
Chad from Franklin, TN on 8/23/2016

While these harness adapters make installing aftermarket speakers more straight forward, please make sure your double check your vehicles wiring diagrams against the positive and negative terminals of this connector. The connectors I received were pinned backwards and I had to remove the pins and swap them in the connector to match my vehicles harness. Other than that issue these are convenient and easy to use.
Pros: Eliminates cutting and splicing of factory harness.
Cons: Pins were backwards.

Metra 72-5600 Speaker Wiring Harness - does not clip..
cpeele from Cape Cartert, NC on 6/28/2016
1999 Ford F-150
Metra 72-5600 Speaker Wiring Harness is a great product which allows for a quick installation but I encountered one downside.
Pros: Allows for a quick installation with no cutting, crimping, or misc. connector pieces.
Cons: One downside - the plug on the end of the harness would not click securely with the vehicles plug mate. By not clicking together there is the possibility that the plugs will come apart over time. You will have to rap the plugs with electrical tape to ensure a long lasting connection.

Super easy for a newby!

Made installing aftermarket speakers to my factory wiring super easy! If you have no idea about electrical stuff, then just read the manual or watch Crutchfields youtube video... or call them, they are wonderful and make installation fool proof! But really, all it takes is plugging it to the car and to your speaker. No cutting, splicing, soldering! And Crutchfield sent me the ones that match my vehicle for free with my speakers.
Pros: Easy install, plug and play Good quality Idiot proof ;) Free with speakers Includes manual No issues with sound quality so far!
Cons: None so far

Didn't fit but looked good
Tom from Kingwood, TX on 5/31/2016
1999 Ford F-350
These look to be good quality but I did not need them, and they didn't look to fit. My truck has an aftermarket stereo with custom speaker wires run to the doors. But the factory harness was hanging there in the door and did not appear to plug up with this adapter. I just hard wired the speaker quick connect adapter to my aftermarket wires and it worked perfect. I'd prefer the cleaner look of quick connects but it wasn't an option here.
Pros: quality construction
Cons: didn't match my truck

I had to cut the factory harness and hard-wire the connection. The connector for the other speaker seated properly initially, but after a few days the speaker stopped working. After taking the door panel apart to inspect the speaker, I found that one of the pins had fallen out of the harness and was hanging freely in the door cavity. After hard-wiring that connection as well, the speakers are working fine. I've been working on car stereos for almost 20 years and probably will not use these again.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Didn't connect well to a 2006 Ford Expedition

I put 4 of them on my Mazda 3. The two where almost impossible to push on. After fighting with the first two I looked inside the connector and noticed that the pins where slightly bent from the factory. I took a flat blade screwdriver and pushed the pins over and the harness went on easily.
Pros: No cutting
Cons: Pins were not straight.

Slightly dissapointed
Alex E. from APO Stuttgart, Germany on 2/22/2015
2006 Lincoln LS
These harnesses worked great for my rear door speaker upgrades. They slid on with hno issues. For the front doors they would just simply not fit on the aftermarket speakers. I was able to finagle one of them on, but the last one had to be cut and soldered to the old stock speaker connection. And yes all door speakers I used were the same size and model. the prongs on the harness seemed slightly different shaped. My buddy who does car audio handled for me, so no biggy. But I did have to drive around with 3 speakers for a few days.
Pros: Came free with speaker purchase
Cons: 2 out of 4 didn't fit right.

Did not fit my '13 Camaro
Tim417 from Orange County, CA on 1/5/2015
2013 Chevrolet Camaro
Crutchfield sent this with my speaker order presumably to use with my 2013 Camaro as specified in my order. This was totally useless as it did not fit my car's harness. Ended up having to cut wires, solder and use heat shrink tubing, totally defeating the purpose of paying more for my speakers at Crutchfield vs nearly any online retailer.
Pros: None
Cons: Did not fit my harness.

Received these free when i bought my Infinity speakers. They snapped into the factory harness and made the installation a little easier. I agree with a previous reviewer that they could have been longer. Had to clip off the spade connector to use them with the Infinity Speakers but that was easy enough.
