Note: Some aftermarket speakers have terminals that are wider than this harness's slide-on connectors. You may need to widen the harness's female slide-on connectors, or use the slide terminals that may be included with the speakers. If you need to connect your new speaker's connectors to the harness, soldering is best, and crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories."

Product Research

Features

Metra Speaker Harness: Metra speaker harnesses prevent having to splice into your vehicle's factory wiring/speaker plugs when replacing the factory speakers with aftermarket car speakers. The Metra speaker harness features two female quick-slide connectors on one end to attach directly to your new aftermarket speakers and a proprietary Molex connector on the other end that connects to your vehicle's factory speaker plug.

Notes: This 4-pin harness is typically used in a tweeter location, and has two shorting wires so the woofer location connection is maintained.

Quick-Slide Connectors: The Metra speaker harness is equipped with a large (positive) and small (negative) female quick-slide terminal. These quick-slide terminals fit directly onto most aftermarket car stereo speaker terminals (slight crimping may be required). In rare cases that the quick-slide terminals do not fit your car speaker terminals, you will need to solder the Metra speaker harness to your aftermarket speaker's terminals or replace the quick-slide connectors on the Metra speaker harness with the correct size terminal.

Note: No installation tools, hardware, or accessories are included. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations and availability.

Quick-Slide Terminal Measurements: The positive female quick-slide terminal measures 0.205" (inner width), while the negative female quick-slide terminal measures 0.110" (inner width).

Wire Code Chart: Two identical Metra speaker harnesses are included.

Q
For the dash midrange speakers (Kenwood Excelon KFC-XP6902C) in a 2018 4Runner, where does the inline crossover go when wiring this up? Do I need to reverse the polarity anywhere in this line?
charles  Jan 31, 2023
1 answer
A
Since you've purchased these speakers with Crutchfield, our tech support team will be happy to help with your installation. Our toll-free Tech Support number is printed on your invoice, and is also available under the "My Orders" tab in the "My Account" section of our website.

Q
Does this drop the impedance of the front channel such that I should be concerned about the car receivers internal amp?
joshua  Jan 01, 2023
1 answer
A
That's a valid concern, Joshua. This harness does not affect the impedance, only your connected speakers. This harness is used in listed vehicles that have front speakers wired in parallel with door speakers from the factory to ease install splicing. Depending on your specific vehicle you may want to pay close attention to the factory speaker's impedance to achieve the best match in a replacement speaker set. Punch your ride's info into our online vehicle guide below, and we will show you what speakers are a good physical fit and also make sure to pair items like the Metra 72-8110 if it fits your vehicle. We make sure you have everything you need to tackle the install, and we even include that speaker install gear for free. https://www.crutchfield.com/m_399/Car-Speakers.html

Q
Does this fit on 2014 tacoma factory tweeters harness??
isaiah  Dec 09, 2022
1 answer
A
These do not, Isaiah. There is no harness available for that year/speaker location. You will have to splice your new tweeters in, if you get them from us, we will hook you up with the speaker installation kit in the link below at a discount to make sure you have everything you need to get connected. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120SPHKC/Install-Bay-SPHKC-Speaker-Installation-Kit.html

Q
Is there a corresponding opposite harness that fits this Metra 72-8110 adapter so you can maintain plug-and-play to this harness when running new speaker wire? I have new plug-and-play tweeters and do not want to cut the factory plug end off to attach to new speaker wire.
steve  Dec 23, 2021
1 answer
A
The harness plug fits the factory one and it has wire crimp connectors on the other end to connect to the tweeters wires. It makes it so you don't have to cut and splice the factory harness. Also what vehicle are you working on?

Q
Does it work with the tweeters on a 2012 Corolla?
emiliano  Nov 26, 2021
1 answer
A
Yes, if your Corolla came with factory tweeters then these will work.

Q
For 2021 RAV4. Do we need to swap the polarity for the dash speakers?
simon  Sep 25, 2021
1 answer
A
We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.

Q
Does it fit 2012 prius c 2 front door?
donald  May 21, 2021
1 answer
A
This harness works with the tweeters that can be in the front doors of a 2012 Prius C. There is a different harness used to replace the woofer in the bigger location or speaker in the Prius C's that do not have a separate tweeter. Here is that harness: www.crutchfield.com/p_120728104/item.html
