This isn't the bracket Metra recommends for 7th gen civic
Clayton from Cali on 7/31/2021
2003 Honda Civic
These were difficult enough to deal with that you might consider fabricating custom speaker brackets instead. Although I admit, it's funny reading the reviews like "Super easy! Just a breeze to install with no directions. Anyone could do this!". You should know that Metra themselves state that these brackets are specifically designed for the 1998 - 2007 Geo Prism. To adapt speakers for the front door location in a 7th gen Honda Civic, Metra says you need the "Metra 82-7803 Speaker Mounting Brackets". Looking at the design, I can see that the one Metra suggests has two pins designed to fit into the two bottom holes for the OEM bracket, which then lines it up to the optimal position. It's like it's telling me "Hey Clayton, we added in some design features just for your 7th gen Honda Civic", whereas this bracket is more like "YOLO GOOD LUCK DUDE LMAO!" If Crutchfield thinks these work better than what Metra recommends, they should add a note somewhere on the page explaining why, because otherwise it just seems like they didn't do their due diligence. If someone from Crutchfield is reading this I would really like to know why this mismatched bracket was supplied with my order. Don't rush these purchases folks. Read the documentation on everything you're considering buying BEFORE you buy it and cross reference between separate sources if possible. If I'd done that I could have caught this earlier.
Pros: Free
Cons: Metra says this doesn't work on their website!

Prepare to do more modification than drilling new holes in the door
Russell G from FANWOOD, NJ on 6/19/2021
2004 Honda Civic
I wasn't terribly impressed. While these brackets gives the necessary clearance to fit in 2004 Honda Civic's front doors, you need to a bit more modification than I expected. The speaker mounting surface did provide any usable holes for the JBL 631 I was installing so the needed to be modified. In addition, there is no clean way of getting these brackets to attach to the door, so new holes need to be drilled. (btw - this was made clear by Crutchfield) The shame of it is the stock speakers are clipped in a very ingenious manner. Metra creating a mounting brackets that fits those clips would be an ideal solutions.

My experience with these in my 2005 Subaru Outback XT was not as expected. Normally, I don't have to drill holes to use an adapter. That is the purpose of the adapter. I was aware of the need to drill holes BEFORE they were shipped to me but I don't understand why send the adapter at all. I used the one included with the speakers as it had to be drilled as well.
Pros: Free included with the purchase of my speakers
Cons: Required drilling into the car for my application.

I got these with my Infinity Reference speaker order for free. REF-6530CX Components for the front, REF-6532EX for the rear. I wondered why they were included as Reference speakers come with mounting brackets. Well, the door panel holes for the speakers are oblong in the Honda Fit. You need the thickness of these Metra 82-3412's to fit 6.5" speakers and leave plenty of room in the door cavity. These are universal brackets and the tabs were easy to cut as needed. I only needed to cut one tab for the drivers side front door. For the front speakers, I didn't even use the tabs as I simply drilled through the ring. For the rear speakers, the bracket tabs were used to secure them to the door. I did drill holes for the screws (holes were properly prepped & blue loctite was used).
Pros: Free with my speaker order Versatile, easy to work with Universal 6.5" speaker bracket Worked perfect on my 2007 Honda Fit Sport

Don't Use These For 2nd Gen Honda CRV
Barron from Honolulu, HI on 6/10/2019
2003 Honda CRV LX
If you have a 2002 - 2006 Honda CRV, you have funky-shaped speakers which present an installation challenge. I bought two pairs of JVC 6 1/2"speakers for the front and rear of a 2004 Honda CRV and Crutchfield included these in my order for free. First let me say thank you to Crutchfield! Next, I get that these are universal mounting adapters, but they take too much work to make it fit and at that point, you might as well just fabricate your own speaker adapters. One reviewer got these to work in his CRV by cutting all of the tabs off and just using the circle part. Here is what I did for any CRV owners who are facing the same situation and want to know: I bought Scosche SAH6 6 1/2" speaker adapters for a Honda Civic. I also bought "Foamies" 2mm self-adhesive closed-cell foam sheets from the craft store (stay tuned! LOL). I removed the factory speakers, then cut a piece of Foamies sheet to seal up the factory mounting holes and to provide some sound dampening. Then I drilled three 1/8" holes to mount the Scosche SAH6 speaker adapters and mounted it using the screws from this Metra kit. The Scosche adapters didn't require any fabrication apart from drilling. Please see the attached photos, I hope this helps other CRV owners. Crutchfield, it would be great if you could update your installation database for the 2nd-gen CRV with this information - the Scoshe SAH6 adapters definitely work for the front and rear doors!
Pros: They're free!
Cons: Too much cutting to make it fit.

These were not compatible with the tail door speaker holes of my 2018 Ford Transit Cargo Van. They were dramatically undersized. I ended up needing to make my own brackets out of plywood and discard these. The pan head screws they provided did come in handy for installing my wood brackets, so an extra star for that. Crutchfield's order history is a little confusing as they state that these were intended for my front door speakers when they were not compatible with those holes either and the other brackets that were provided worked very well for the front door speaker holes, so I'm not sure what's going on there. I confirmed with tech support that these were listed as compatible for the tail doors on my vehicle.

Bracket fit both car and speaker, but watch mounting screws
John from Brooklyn, NY on 6/13/2018
2002 Honda Civic EX
After I snapped off the long tabs as per instructions, the bracket fit just fine in my 2002 Honda Civic EX Coupe. Crutchfield told me I would have to drill new holes for the bracket, so no problem there. It's worth noting though, that if the mounting screws for the speaker itself are longer than the thickness of the bracket, you'll have to drill holes not just for the screws that fasten the bracket to the door panel, but for the screws that fasten the speaker to the bracket. Once that was done, it worked just fine.
Pros: Worked great, came free!
Cons: Take into account the length of speaker mounting screws.

William from Hamtramck, MI on 6/3/2018
2004 Honda Civic
I can see how this bracket could work on my 2004 Civic (front door), but it would have no connection to the instructions, and I'm not sure it would be an improvement over simply screwing the speaker directly to the sheet metal, since I'd have to make new holes either way. Even if I did that, there would be no seal above or below the bracket, and I'd still need to buy machine screws, nuts and washers. I did what all of the instructional videos I found did, and cut the old speaker out of the bracket and screwed the new speaker into that.
Pros: None. Didn't use it.
Cons: Hard plastic, no seals, doesn't match anything on a 2001-2005 Civic

Correct depth and worked well installing 6.5" 2-way Infinity Reference speakers into 2014 Mazda2 Sport front and rear doors. Appreciate that Crutchfield includes them for free as the list price for this plastic ring is borderline. With a bit more time and effort, repurposing the OEM bracket and harness would work fine, but is less convenient. Minor annoyance: As is the case on many door panels, the apparent speaker grill is fake; the actual opening is smaller. But when mounting this correctly centered on the door, the speaker is NOT centered to the grill opening. Thus, some of the woofer edge to one side is putting sound into the back of the door panel. Could point the finger to Mazda or Infinity or Metra or Crutchfield, but no one has taken it upon themselves to offer a fix.

Stupid design

I'm not sure who dropped the ball here, Crutchfield for thinking these would fit my car or Metra for a stupid design. They literally suspend the speakers over the hole - no seal, no baffle, nothing. It's nothing but noise cancellation, as there's no way a speaker could produce any air pressure with the lack of a seal. They're currently in my recycling bin.
Pros: They're plastic, so they're recyclable.
Cons: Not designed at all for this car (Honda CRV).

cheap, cheerful, brittle and buzzy
Scott B. from Lawrence, KS on 4/12/2017
2001 Honda Civic EX
These came with my order for free. So I can't complain. But they are a hard, brittle plastic. Not ideal for vibration dampening. The stock brackets (glued to the speakers) are of a semi-rigid, but also malleable, rubber. The stock brackets seem to do a much better job of sealing the speakers, dampening vibration and preventing an annoying buzz-- these, not so much. If I have time, I will have to reverse my entire installation procedure, purchase better quality brackets and reinstall. With popping a door cover and drilling holes, this not ideal. Butter to spend a few bucks and use quality brackets the first time-- these are not it.
Pros: free, fit, did I say free?
Cons: brittle, low quality plastic, cheap and cheerful, seem inclined to split or crack with any drilling or screw use. My entire speaker purchase choice hinged on adapting brackets that worked. As it is now, the stock paper speakers and their included rubber mounting hardware is better. I would completely pick another set of speakers (different size that better fit my Honda Civic) if I knew that this was a compromised choice because of low quality, buzzy brackets.

I would have to drill another hole in the metal to give the screw enough room. The other screws are too short for anything other than mounting the ring to the door. Ok, that's done. But how do I mount this speaker!! What fasteners?? Also, it came with speaker baffles. I've been all over the website and all over Google and I can't find one thing that tells me how to mount the baffle. Does it go between the door and the ring? The ring and the speaker? Behind the door? What's the stacking order here people! It seems this is a generic ring that is for a variety of speakers. Ok, fine. But I need more information here. I called tech support and my talk with them was basically unhelpful. All they wanted to tell me was that it doesn't matter which clips and screws are used where, anything that I have to do to mount the speaker is Ok. I have the ring screwed to the door but I really have no idea how to put this speaker on. I'm stuck and Crutchfield has not been any help. They don't tell you how the parts go together here. You guys have made me hate this process so far. I hate this crap!
Pros: I suppose it works, if I can only figure out how to get it mounted
Cons: Poor instructions, poor help from the tech support guy. Does not use Honda mounting holes that are already there. Have to drill holes, OK, but where, and the mounting ring at what orientation. What screws to use where ??? What clips to use where??? And don't tell me it doesn't matter where they are used!

These do not fit a 2006 Honda CRV, front or back. Not sure why they would suggest these to customers. I suppose you could mod them enough to work but if you were going to make that big enough effort, just use stock plastic mounts and modify with wood rings like I see on an online video site. I certainly would like to see pictures of these being used on a CRV. I would give this Zero stars!

Pros: Thick quality plastic

Poor fit, awful instructions
Jake from Denver, CO on 12/5/2016
2002 Honda Civic EX
First of all, there was no information included with my order (2 pairs of speakers, different sizes) as to which set of mounting brackets was for which speaker. I spent upwards of 30-45 mins trying to install the rear speakers in these before realizing that it was the wrong set of brackets. After finally figuring this out, the instructions for mounting the speaker to the adaptor were completely lacking. It says something to the effect of "mount speaker to bracket." Wow, really helpful! What the instructions don't tell you is that you'll need to break off some of the tabs on the adaptor bracket to get them to fit on the door panel of the car. Even after breaking off extra tabs, the fit is still poor, and you need to drill holes in the door to install the bracket.
Pros: Free with speakers
Cons: Poor fit, terrible instructions, have to drill the door panel

These are solid adapter plates. They just do not fit the 2016 versa. The holes did not line up with those on the vehicle. Two holes lined up which is not enough for a secure mount. Decent Fit
Rob H from Keymar, MD on 3/20/2016
2008 Honda Fit
The brackets fit pretty well - they have no problems going into the hole in the door. You have to spin to adjust where the attachment tabs will go to make sure you find a flat spot to mount them. I was able to get two flat mounts and one "less than flat" and it worked well. There was no issue getting the door cover back on. Mounting the speaker in the bracket was a very tight fit (the screws nearly had to point in to mount, but with a little time and effort, it worked.
Pros: Overall, no issues using this. It included all of the hardware needed to complete the job.
Cons: Screw mounts for speaker were a bit tighter that I would have liked, and since the bracket is a "fit many" type, it wasn't a perfect "fit" for the fit. With that being said, it worked fine.

2006 Honda CRV EX
Good thing these were free, then again it may be why they are free. If you own a 2006 Honda Crv do not get these as they don't work without having to modify the crap out of them, all outer mounting tabs are way too long no matter how you position it. Had to go buy smaller screws to mount the speakers on to it because the ones sent would bottom out on door panel, and I wasn't drilling any more holes. What should have been a 30 minute job took 2 hours, that was for 1 door, I still have the other one to do and stopped out of frustration and will tackle other one tomorrow. These may be universal for other Honda models, just not for a 06 Crv !
Pros: May work for other cars.
Cons: Does not work on 2006 Honda Crv EX the way it should. Have to modify.

The way it is designed could be a lot better. The screws work ok, I used some self-tapping ones, which work better, but not provided. On a Versa, be prepared to drill a new hole in the door. The way the speaker sits on bracket could be better, maybe with some silicone provided, one seemed the plastic flexed.
Pros: Space it out not to interfere with windows.
Cons: Screws, design.

Mostly bummed they don't give 8 screws to hold the speaker onto the bracket. They give 6 and expect you to use 3 per speaker. The holes line up perfect that you could use 4. You will have to "eyeball it" and see how it will fit best. It does not just sit where the old speaker bracket sat. For the front doors of my 2001 Honda Civic 4-door, I cut the 2 longest tabs with a hacksaw (instead of snapping or breaking them off). Make sure there are NO wires or wire harness behind where you plan to drill. After I had everything centered up and where I wanted it, I had to rotate the bracket a few inches so I would not drill a wire harness on the backside.
Pros:
Cons: The brackets don't just "Go" where the old speakers went You may accidentally cut or drill your wire harness when mounting 6 instead of 8 speaker mounting screws

These adapters are not remotely functional. You will have to do a tremendous amount of trimming and drilling to get them to work. The OEM equipment is the speaker integrated into the bracket. It has a metal clip in the top center and once that is popped, you can easily lift it out at a slight angle towards you. This bracket is not even close to representing the original bracket. There are several steps you need to do to make these work, first, take a sharpy and draw an outline around the original speaker then remove it. Take a dremel tool or something similar and cut off all the tabs. I used a 7/64 drill bit. Place the bracket within the template you drew with the sharpy and drill at least two holes through the metal frame to attach the bracket to the frame. Once that is complete you will also need to drill holes into the frame at all points where the speakers are mounted to the bracket because the suppplied screws protrude about a quarter of an inch. Or you can purchase shorter screws. I chose to drill the holes because now there were 3-4 additional points that held the speakers to the door so no rattling.
Pros: Gave you a point to mount the speakers to the bracket
Cons: Tons of fabrication to make them work. If you are expecting a plug and play operation, this is not it.

Got these with 2 pairs of Kenwood Kfc-1665s speakers. They were included for free by Crutchfield. These are a must for installing on a 2012 Ford Focus. Very simple to use. Didn't have to chop up factory speakers to install the Kenwoods.
Pros: Simplicity of use.
Cons: None

Perfect with a few modifications!

2004 Honda Civic
These were the recommended speaker adapters for my daughters 2004 Honda Civic EX. Crutchfield warned me that drilling was required, which it was, but that wasn't all that was needed. The Honda factory door speaker had no screws at all, rather a clip on the top and two slots in the bottom. This makes for easy replacement of new factory speakers but a challenge for after-market speakers. I read on one of the Crutchfield reviews for this item when used on a Honda Civic that installation went smooth until reinstalling the door skin that no longer fit. Armed with this knowledge, I had to first trace around the factory speaker to find the "center" of the speaker hole. Then I had to cut off the two "large" tabs on the bottom of the bracket and about half off of the top "large" tab and install the speaker onto the bracket with screws that came with speakers. I also had to cut the screws that held the speaker to the bracket so that they didn't extend past the bottom of the bracket. Then I aligned the speaker bracket with the factory trace left on door, marked holes for the two small tabs on bottom of bracket and the bottom half of the large tab on top. Using the supplied door clips wasn't an option. I had to us the screws supplied with the bracket as sheet metal screws to attach the assembly to the door. So be very carefull when choosing a drill bit. Using this proceedure I was able to install my speakers and still have the door skin properly fit. Thanks Crutchfield!!
Pros: Strong, sturdy bracket. Worked well with modifications.
Cons: Wasn't really made for Honda cars. But Honda doors are not at all made for aftermarket door speakers either.

Brackets Often Required
ReneN from Blacksburg, VA on 12/27/2013
2007 Honda Fit Sport
Used these for installing Infinity Speakers in a 2007 Honda Fit. Did still require drilling into the vehicle to mount the brackets, but the existing speaker locations clearly weren't designed for aftermarket speakers (small hole in door for speaker and non-standard mounting points). For this vehicle, you need the brackets to prevent interference with the speaker terminals / magnet (reduce depth of speaker in door by the thickness of the adapter). For the back doors, I needed both these adapters and the ones supplied with the speaker to get the required clearance.
Pros: Mounting flexibility.
Cons:

They were perfect for me
Julio from Lynchburg, VA on 12/4/2013
I had no trouble replacing my stock speakers using the mounting brackets.
Pros: Perfect for my Infinity Reference
Cons: I had to drill one new hole in both doors; these brackets don't align perfectly with the holes made by the car manufacture. Not a biggie for me.

I have a honda civic.2004 sedan and I used these brackets to hold in my 6.5 kenwoods and yes the hold them in and the screw in to the door fine but the problem I had was putting the door back together I had a big gap underneath my door, so I had to break off some of the brakets so their will be no gap and after I did that it wouldn't close all way theirs still a gap but not as big.
Pros: fits
Cons: door has a crack on it

First: These brackets require you to put a little time and effort into your speaker installation since Honda gave us such awkward speaker openings from the factory. You do need to drill into your door. I installed these in my friends shop and was very happy I did. I ended up using the supplied hardware from my Polk Speakers as to mount the speakers. Then used nyloc nuts and bolts to mount the bracket to the door. Best option in my opinion. Please take your time orienting the speaker with the bracket!
Pros: Got my speakers in!
Cons: For most DIY'ers it may seem like a really huge hassle with these brackets. But not really any other option for Civics.

Not a fan of the idea of having to drill new holes in my car for these brackets. Not to mention the screws to secure the speaker to the bracket requires spacers because otherwise the screws make it harder to mount the speakers in the door.

The brackets fit perfectly in the vehicle, however the speakers that these came with, MTX TN653 did not directly fit. The hole pattern in the speakers did not line up with the hole pattern on the brackets. I had to drill new holes. Also, the brackets should have been supplied with screws since the speaker supplied screws were too long. Overall minor issues, but still caused extra work.
Pros: Fit vehicle door perfectly
Cons: Had to modify for speakers

Not the easiest product to use
KenR from Sacramento, CA on 5/29/2013
Mounting Speakers to adapter was not that bad, but mounting to door was difficult. Holes did not line up well, had to drill 2 hole for each bracket, had no groves to allow wires from speaker to connect to car wiring ( wiring was not inside door frame, but outside of plastic sheet of door).
Pros: Ok for price.
Cons: Instructions very vague, no wiring access from speaker.

Does not fit 2007 Honda Fit
K. from Raleigh, NC on 5/27/2013
2007 Honda Fit
While eventually we were able to use these brackets, it was only after we were forced to use a bandsaw to remove tabs along with some excess plastic in order to allow the door panel to fit back on. But the brackets as they were did not fit the car at all, they were simply too big. Something that should have take a short amount of time took much longer because we had everything set to go and then realized we couldn't get the door panel back on.
Pros: Eventually, you may get your speakers installed.
Cons: It won't be an easy process.

These fit the door well! My only issue is, since you aren't using the original speaker hardware and since you have to drill new mounting holes, it would be nice if this kit included some self-tapping screws for mounting to the door.
Pros: - Fits the door well - Speakers were easy to install in brackets
Cons: Does not include mounting hardware for the door

Stop complaining
Dfdrummer1 from Seattle, wa on 4/14/2013
To anyone complaining about the included screws or not fitting the contours of their specific vehicle: the purpose if this product is to get speakers not made for your car to fit in your car and/or to add a spacer for vehicles where clearance is an issue. As a professional car audio installer I know that there is no such thing as a "perfect fit" when it comes to customizing anything car related. The purpose of a product like this is to allow the speaker to be mounted at all, whereas without it would not be possible. It is up to your own experience and creativity to make them work for your specific vehicle. If the hardware included doesn't work for you (which you shouldn't expect anyway), find hardware that does. Just realize that this product is not labeled "everything you need to install 6 1/5 inch pioneer component speakers into a 2001 Honda Pilot". This is a universal product. If you don't know what you are doing, don't blame the tools and products you are working with, blame your lack of experience.

Simpler to Install than it Seems
ASacredCow from Madison, WI on 3/14/2013
2002 Honda CRV LX
I used these to mount some Polk Audio db's in my 2002 Honda CR-V and was confused by the easy mount clips that came with the harnesses. In my case, turns out all you had to do was drill your own holes into the door and use the screws that were included. Once the confusion was set aside, it was a breeze to install. As long as you make sure everything is screwed together tightly, you'll run into no vibration problems (assuming you're not using these to install high-performance, competition-grade speakers) or speakers falling out in your door panel.
Pros: Includes everything you need but the speaker itself, doesn't rattle for standard aftermarket speakers
Cons: Installation instructions are a tad confusing

If your looking for Plug and Play - Good luck, it's just not out there... if you have some skills then these will work fine for you. I had to cut off the two longer tabs (which the instructions say to 'break off' any unused tabs), then I drilled holes in the door for the three smaller tabs, put some weatherstripping on the back for cushioning and attached them with screws... worked great!
Pros: Nice quality brackets for 5 1/4" speakers.
Cons: Certainly not plug and play like folks are looking for, but if you are creative you can make them work.

Great for Fiat 500 Front Door
ralplpcr from Raleigh, NC on 6/4/2012
2012 Fiat 500
These were great in replacing the door speakers in my 2012 Fiat 500. The only thing I could have asked for different would have been some regular nuts instead of the speed nuts - - they just won't work with the existing hole on my car. You instead have to get behind the door liner and hold a nut to the back of the speaker while screwing them tight from the front. Once I did that, these provided a perfect fit to replace the factory speakers.
Pros: Perfect fit to replace factory mounting bracket
Cons: Speed nuts could not be used in my installation.

Did not fit on the 2008 Honda Fit for which Crutchfield said they would work. Since they were thinner than the OEM brackets I had enough space to rotate and bend them to get them to finally work, but they are certainly not appropriate for this car and do not sit flush against the door. Frustrating experience...

Honda CRV challening but worked
Whately from Chapel Hill, NC on 3/13/2012
2004 Honda CRV LX
These one-size-fits-all adapters made mounting challenging on my '04 Honda CRV. The instructions weren't that helpful. Eventually I hit upon the following solution: I removed all the tabs from the adapter, drilled four holes in the door, then used the screws that came with my new Kenwood speakers to mount the adapter (without the tabs, the screws that come with the adapter are useless). That's the only way the adapter will sit flush with the door surface. Then I could mount the speaker to the adapter, using some screws from the hardware store. Some make/model specific instructions would have made this a lot easier.
Pros: They work, and they came free with the speakers.
Cons: Challenging install, needed different screws, vague instructions.

Works fine...
JARblue from Austin, TX on 2/8/2012
The mounting brackets worked fine, but were pretty make-shift. The contours of the metal around the speaker opening in my doors did not allow the bracket to sit flush at all. I used some special acoustical foamboard as a backing which was incredibly tedious to cut to fit snug against the various contours of the door panel (this is more Honda's fault and also mine for having OCD about the install quality). I had to drill new holes in the door to install the bracket, and the speaker then screwed directly in the plastic casing of the bracket. The fact that this bracket is for multiple makes and models reminds me of those tee-shirts that are labeled one-size-fits-all but are just size XXXXL. Sure it fits... just not well.
Pros: Allows me to install 6.5" speakers in opening designed for much smaller speakers in my 2004 Honda Accord Coupe 6MT
Cons: Install is not as simple as a custom bracket would have been. I would have paid more for a better product, but I simply couldn't find one for my Honda. Also, I really would have liked to use the factory screw holes.

I called Crutchfield tech support, and he was very friendly and tried to help, all he could offer was to send them back and try something else. We weren't sure what that would be, so I made the original brackets work . Just had to do some drilling through the plastic bracket and the door metal. Speakers sound good, I'm happy.

'05 Accord - weird factory door speakers
Chris R from Cincinnati, OH on 5/16/2011
2005 Honda Accord LX
Honda has make their factory speakers custom with custom mounts. Their outer speaker housing is plastic and it just snaps into the door sheet metal. This bracket fits a generic template and new holes needed to be drilled. I wasn't sure the door panel would fit until after mounting the speaker. In the end it went fine, but drilling holes in the wifes car with the boss watching me wasn't fun. I was afraid that I might need to sleep in the truck.

This is a universal adapter that will likely need to be modified to fit a specific vehicle. If you're handy with some basic tools you should be able to make it fit. This bracket does NOT fit a 98 Corolla properly!
J.S. from Grand Rapids, MI on 1/18/2011
1998 Toyota Corolla
My 6.5 inch pioneer speakers took close to 2 hours to install in the front doors, and most of that was modifying and improvising these speaker brackets to mount properly on my 1998 Toyota Corolla. My brother helped me with the installation, and we had to use at least four washers that were not supplied with the bracket or speakers in order to mount the speakers in the doors. We had to dig around and find our own washers first. Yes, we were able to do it, but the unexpected problems with these brackets easily doubled the total installation time. I imagine that this problem will apply to the 98-2000 Toyota Corolla models. You won't realize the problem until you get the door panel off and get well into the installation process, and suddenly you realize that there is no way to secure this speaker bracket to the car door without washers. I wish I had taken pictures to post but I didn't realize I would be writing a review and I don't want to take off the door panel again.
