Dont do it, if you have a Ford Explorer
Carl from Pennellville, NY on 4/4/2023
2017 Ford Explorer
These are listed as working for a 2017 Ford Explorer Limited. THEY DO NOT! I spent all the time of installing MTX eliminator's in my front doors. I made sure everything was sealed for better bass. It was all good till I tried to put the door panels back on. The adaptors are too thick. Had to uninstall, call Crutchfield, and wait for the speakers that will fit without, these adaptors.
Pros: None
Cons: Too thick. Door panels won't go back on.

Cape Coral
Travis from Cape Coral on 10/16/2021
2016 Ford Explorer
Just purchased and tried to install in my 2016 explorer sport. They don't let the door panel snap back into place. Tried several times and have used these type of brackets before. Installed Focal 6x9 and they didn't line up very well in the brackets either. They need to be about a half inch shorter.
Pros: None don't work for the vehicle they say they will. Several other comments about the same issue.
Cons: Everything since they don't fit

2012 Ford Explorer
The ears for the screws to pass through were not sufficiently wide for the provided screws to fit through. I ended up puncturing a speaker cone trying to get a screw in. In the end, the screw holes had to be reamed out for the screws to pass though correctly.
Pros: Fit for the vehicle was correct
Cons: Plastic required modification to allow screws to pass through.

Pros: Fit on the door frame just fine
Cons: needed to drill new holes for my speakers

Doesn't fit 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum front door.
Talldiver from Hampton Roads, VA on 12/21/2015
Doesn't fit 2015 Ford F-150 Platinum SuperCrew front door. I was able to modify the adapter to fit both the current door holes and the speaker holes. Just one problem, it's a 1/2 inch to thick/high/tall so you can't install the door panel.
Pros: adaptable.
Cons: to tall/thick/high.
