2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
It doesn't fit my Highlander 2023 properly. I had to drill a couple of holes on the bracket and add extra padding because the bracket does not cover the complete speaker hole. Also, the screws that come with it to fix the speaker to the bracket end up a bit loose. After such modifications, I was able to use it to install 6X9 speakers. not plug and play but you can make it work.

They are both the same, not mirrored. This messes with fitment some. To get the screw holes to line up with the door, I had to cut the brackets so they would not contact the hinge bolts on the driver side door of my 2022 Crosstrek. The screw holes for the speakers are set back and there is not any material to bite into. It is also difficult to use lock nuts. Screws only have about 1/8 of plastic to bite into. I ended up using 1 1/4 machine screws, and angled them to get a nut on. They are about 1/2 inch lower profile than stock speakers. I had to use a thick gasket material to push the speakers forward into the door card, and clear the window.

Cons: Not mirrored. Screw holes poorly designed. Very low profile.

Adapters not an exact fit for kickers speakers. Holes were hard to line up and ended up stripping out requiring use of speed nuts. Proper screws should be supplied not just the ones from the speakers. Others have similar issues, Crutchfield should walk the process, and work with metra to resolve.

The screw holes did not match all 4 of the holes on the speakers. Had to drill a hole for one of the tabs on the speaker to line up, which, luckily, I didn't screw up( no pun intended). The brackets fit the truck mounts well with no work other than getting the holes aligned.

As always a great item included with the speaker purchase adds value and convenience to your crutchfield purchase. Bolts right in to 2020 Tacoma front door with original speaker mounting screws. Not really required but I added some thin neoprene self adhesive weather stripping between the speaker and brackets and between the bracket and door to ensure that there will not be any problems with vibrations.

Works perfect. I would recommend using some sort of sealer or gasket material though, as this does not come with a great way to seal speaker. There are some cut-to-fit pieces included, but a full one piece gasket would be better.

Made installation nice and easy. Only complaint would be the mounting holes for mounting the bracket to the speaker didn't quite line up exactly to be able to use all 4 screws. I was able to use 3 screws and have had no issues. Mounting holes for mounting the speakers to the doors worked just fine.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek fron doors. Passenger side fits perfect. No trimming needed. The driver's side is a different story. You have to trim down the wider edge along the long side. The brackets are identical. They should have been made for left or right door. There are two boltheads just to the front of the speaker opening. Sitting in the car facing the door. On the driver's side they are to your right. On the passenger's side they are to your left.

DOES NOT FIT 2018 CROSSTREK. You have to Dremel off the excessively large flange that's on one side. My Kicker KS 6x9 speakers also did not line up with the slots on this bracket. A final thing, there was no included hardware. I've installed countless audio systems and I must say this is the worst experience I've had with Crutchfield suggested hardware.

These brackets fit very well in my 2022 Subaru Outback with one minor adjustment - the screws included were too long and prevented the bracket from fitting in my door. I used shorter screws that I had on hand and the bracket fit perfectly into my doors.

Cons: Screws were too long, but if you have your own shorter screws to use instead the bracket itself will fit.

A company is only as strong as it's weakest link, even if it's free. I read these reviews on the 82-8146 Metra brackets shaking my head and had to agree with those that mentioned missing installation hardware (no screws and not even a description of required screws), slightly misaligned holes, and zero for installation instructions. These issues added several hours of install time that should not have been necessary. Yes, I did attempt a call to the Crutchfield award winning customer service and was greeted by a very pleasant individual who did not seem aware of this issue and was not able to add much of a solution. I remain unsure as to how serious these reviews are being taken. Please consider discussing with Metra the need for improvement in these areas.
Pros: Brackets eventually installed satisfactorily in 2019 Subaru Forester.
Cons: It was not easy.

These were supplied (for free) with the Kicker 46CSC6934 speakers I ordered for my 2015 Subaru Outback Premium front doors. Only gave 4 stars because they were not quite the perfect fit, and I was only able to use 3 of the 4 mounting holes to mount the speakers to them. The 4th hole didn't line up but I was able to make it work with just 3.

I bought both the Metra 82-8146 (6x9) mounting brackets and the Metra 82-8148 (6-6.75) mounting brackets to replace the speakers in my 2013 Prius and they fit like a champ. No extra drilling or self-tapping screws (as seen on some YouTube videos) as the existing holes lined up perfectly with the brackets. The only complaint is that the latter product came with all of the appropriate hardware to mount the brackets to the door and this product did not. I had to go to Ace Hardware and buy the #8-32 bolts, washers, and nuts to install the brackets.

Nearly perfect for installation in a 2021 Crosstrek. Holes and everything lined up, speakers fit perfect, but I did have to make a slight modification. I had to cut some of the asymmetrical flange on the long side of the bracket on the driver side door installation. There were a couple of unrelated bolts in the way, but nothing a pair of wire cutters and a little time couldn't fix! Because the flange on the left side of the bracket was slimmer I didn't have a problem on the passenger side.

Fit the cutouts and speakers perfectly. I could not figure out the purpose of the bent metal clips and did not use them - I would have appreciated clarification of their purpose. Also, the provided screws do not go into the semi cylindrical receptacles in the bracket - the screws remain outside the receptacle; I hope I won't have to go back into the door after a year or two of use.

Using these speaker adapters made the installation of my aftermarket speakers a direct bolt-up. Combined with the corresponding Metra wiring harness, installing the new speakers was as easy as just reinstalling the original ones! I sure wish kits like these had been available years ago!

2019 Subaru Outback
Rockford Fosgate R169X2 do NOT align properly with this bracket. You will have two holes perfectly aligned while the other two will require a self tapping screws to create new holes. Not a major deal but frustrating. It is possible that the Rockford Fosgate speakers have the odd pattern and not the bracket. I didn't have another set of 6x9's on hand to test this out.

2010 Toyota Tacoma
I initially installed the speakers in the front doors of my 2010 Toyota Tacoma backwards. The diagram in the instruction manual that came with the speakers showed the speakers attaching to a plain board rather that a bracket (see pic). So, when I lowered the door window the window tapped the back of the speakers. I called Crutchfield Tech Support and Henry S. took the time to help me resolve the issue over my cell phone using an app he provided .. so I could show Henry the way I installed the speakers to the bracket. I'm providing additional pics to show the correct way to install in the bracket for those who might run into the same Issue I had. Other than that, the brackets were a perfect fit.
Pros: Fits as it should.
Cons: Diagram needs to show 2 versions one with and one without a bracket.

If you buy aftermarket speakers, you will need these. Suggest getting some foam, for the underside, if you're not using sound deadening. Also, if your speakers don't have a layer of foam under the lip, on the side of the screw down points, it will prevent a rattle.

Used these brackets to install Kicker 44KSC69304 in the Front Doors of my 2019 Toyota Tacoma. They fit the door perfectly. I took off one star because only 3 of the holes matched the speaker. I had to drill my own hole for the 4th screw. Other than that, they're all good. Glad they came free with my speaker purchase.

Instructions included with the Tacoma should include a warning about the white clips behind the sail panel. If any white clips are left on the door when you pull the sail panel REMOVE THEM FROM THE DOOR AND CLIP THEM BACK ON THE PANEL. If you try to pop the sail panel back on and the clips are on the door they just go inside to be lost forever. They will NOT drop down to be retrieved from the speaker hole. And the clips are $3 EACH for replacements from the dealership.

These generic speaker mounting brackets are made to fit a number of products, and thus must be (worked with) to complete this install. When mounting this speaker using this bracket all screws must be left loose until all are started (or the last screw will not match up close enough to be used). A good bracket this just does not fit close enough unless a bit of knowledge is used to complete this install.
Pros: Good generic bracket for use in replacing OEM speakers
Cons: A bit of windage must be used in completing this install or the last screw will not fit.

Succeeds at mounting speakers into the door. Tabs or brackets do not quite line up in the 2016+ Tacoma double cab rear doors. Foam sealing tape should be available to go with this adapter. A better option for automobile door mounting would be Boom Mats to keep moisture out
Pros: General good match for application, sets speaker at a factory position in the door which does not interfere with the window.

Work well , but not perfect. The holes do not line up perfectly. One explanation might be the holes in the plastic inserts in my door are not where the Metra adapter holes are located. But I would say, in typical Toyota quality (2017 Tacoma) the OEM holes in the plasitc inserts in the door were dead center in the plastic. So that suggests to me the Metra adapter holes are not quite right. They could be made bigger, or maybe one could be larger to facilitate a better fit. And no instructions for left/right, up / down. Having viewed on line install videos I was aware to look for up-down etc. The up makes sense, there is an access hole for the wiring. Also, they might suggest you can snap off the extra tabs if not needed. Bottom line is they work well, but be aware of the idea they are not interchangeable side to side

2019 Subaru Crosstrek Limited Kicker 43DSC69304 These brackets are not entirely plug-and-play for the Subaru and/or Kicker 6x9. First, I could only get 3 holes in the speaker to align to the holes in the bracket so I had to drill a 4th hole. Second, the flange is a little wider on one side of the bracket and on the driver's side door there are two bolts that prevent the bracket from mounting flush. I had to trim the flange on the bracket to fit around the bolts. These are not difficult modifications and if you are up to installing your own speakers I doubt it would be a problem for you.

2017 Toyota Tacoma
2017 Toyota Tacoma double cab. These don't exactly fit correctly. The speakers fit perfectly into these brackets but the bracket holes to mount to the actual door frame don't line up where the factory holes are. You can make them work however.
Pros: You can make them work.
Cons: Not an exact fit for 2017 Toyota Tacoma.

Mounting brackets worked just fine, no issues, took me about 20 minutes a door and was finished.

2005 4Runner. Included brackets made front speaker install straightforward and easy.
Pros: Perfect fit and match to OEM front speaker location.
Cons: Should have done this speaker upgrade sooner.

To be honest, this is why I buy at Crutchfield! I found web posts about cutting up speaker brackets to re-use things from your OEM speakers to install new speakers. You could cut a piece of plywood and guess on things. You can get frustrated, scrape your knuckles, or break parts - Or, you can just buy from Crutchfield and get the right speaker adapters included the first time. it was a no-brainer for me! It should be for you too....
