This one had us scratching our heads but a call to the 800 Tech. Support number resolved it in no time at all. Everything fit perfectly into the trucks opening. And, it did not require any metal cutting to make the new equipment fit.

When assembled my radio was too wide for the opening in the faceplate, but fit fine between the sides from the rear. I epoxied the sides to the faceplate, installed the cubby & marked the faceplate above the cubby & dremeled out the faceplate even with the sides & then radio slipped right in! Not uptight about it I was Cobbling together a hodgepodge of eqpt anyway. Worked perfect when I got done. Thanks Obie!

A nice fit

It matched my vehicle and accommodated the radio I purchased for it. Everything installed smoothly, but the screws that were included did not fit where they were meant to. A trip to the hardware store was necessary.

wrong application?

unfortunately the radio did not fit in the hole . when compared to the old one you could easily see it was smaller. fit the truck fine looked nice but just the wrong application.

One size does not fit all

I bought this alongside my Alpine UTE 73BT and it gave me so much trouble. The instructions were clear but in the long run became a mere suggestion as what they were telling me to do wouldn't work well. Most of my issues came from the trim not being large enough to fit around the radio the way the instructions described, and them telling me to use the included screws from the radio but the screws that came with the radio were not long enough to mount it to the kit. I ended up rummaging through my grandfather's screw drawer and finding some that fit. Hilariously enough the broken radio had the same dash kit so I tried the trim from it and that trim fit much better.

Directions were a little bit vague, I actually had to take a Dremel to trim 4 small plastic tabs off the side of the head unit to get a snug fit. Otherwise the brackets did not fit the unit, causing the trim to bulge out a bit. There was no mention of that possibility in the directions.

Easy assembly and good fitment. The pocket is a great place for phone while in car but an Anti-slip surface in the pocket would keep things from sliding out.

Very Poor Quality and Fitment

Terrible quality. I had to modify it to get it remotely close to fitting. Very poor construction. It is installed but I have less than zero faith in it so I am searching for a new dash kit.

2005 trailblazer with bose

It works but I had issues with install. Should have read all the directions first. I still having trouble with the trim piece that came with the kit. Can't get it to work. It might just be me. It did allow me to install the radio. And it is working just doesn't look clean since the trim piece isn't installed.

2005 Silverado Install

Not right at all

Crutchfield recommended this for my 2003 malibu along with the Jensen BT deck. Well, it took about 2 hours to file away and custom fit it to the deck, absolutely way too small, im not sure what this would fit. I was about 1mm off on one side and my trim wouldn't go back on without a fight or more labor, so it ended up messing up the face of the deck a bit. Not cool.

2005 silverado

Installed in 2005 Silverado, fits the truck great but the opening was 1/4 too small for a half din stereo. I was going to cut it to fit but I wound up not using it and made may own bracket instead. I did use the filler piece to store my iPhone cables

Best Dash kit I've ever installed!

Excellent fit and looks GREAT! I removed a stereo that already had a similar kit but didn't like the look, texture, or the fact that it wasn't tight and it squeaked on bumps. This one fit nice, is VERY solid, and had a bigger shelf. I would definitely buy again.

2007 Chevy Silverado Classic Fitment

This Metra Dash Kit, was a direct fit for my 2007 Silverado classic. I also know this product will fit 99-06 Chevy Silverado's. Instructions were spot on, installation was fast, and I don't have any car audio experience. Crutchfield was with me from the time I called to make my order till my installation was complete. Any questions I had they answered. I will always recommend Crutchfield and Crutchfield's products to family and friends.

Better suited for a double din radio

Kit would probably work better with a double din radio. I did not like the fit and finish with a single din unit. Very tight fit and would not allo the trim ring to go on after the radio was installed. It is a secure fit though since the chassis bolts into the side brackets instead of using the slide in sleeve that comes with the radio. I decided to go with the Scoshe kit instead.
