Product Research

Features

Vehicle Compatibility: The Metra Turbo Kit (99-3018S) is designed specifically for select 2008-2014 Cadillac CTS vehicles (both amplified and non-amplified factory systems). The 99-3018S allows you to replace your factory radio with an aftermarket stereo and retain important factory functions, which otherwise would be lost. Compatible Cadillac CTS vehicles include:

  • 2008-2013 CTS (coupe/sedan)
  • 2014 CTS (coupe)
  • 2008-2014 CTS-V

Note: The Metra 99-3018S kit is not compatible with CTS Sport Wagon models.

Single- or Double-DIN Dash Kit: The installation kit will fit most single-DIN or Double-DIN aftermarket head units (a pocket is included for Single-DIN installations. The kit features high-grade ABS plastic and is contoured to match your vehicle's factory dashboard color and texture.

Radio Replacement Module: The included radio replacement interface module allows the replacement of the factory radio in your compatible Cadillac CTS with an aftermarket head unit. This interface module allows you to retain factory features such as the factory amplifier, OnStar, steering wheel control (optional interface required), warning chimes, and factory Aux input. The interface module also provides data bus driven outputs for retained accessory power (RAP) and accessory power (+12V/10A). In addition, the interface includes navigation outputs like vehicle speed sensor (VSS), reverse trigger, and parking brake to make installation easier.

  • Factory Amplifier: You'll be able to retain your vehicle's factory amplifier (if equipped) with the ability to balance and fade from your new aftermarket stereo. This interface is also compatible with vehicles that are not equipped with factory amplified systems.
  • OnStar & Bluetooth Compatible: The 99-3018S is designed to retain the factory OnStar emergency services system, along with Bluetooth, that would normally be lost when your factory radio is replaced by an aftermarket head unit.
  • Retained Accessory Power (RAP) & Warning Chimes: The ignition power source of many vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This feature is called the RAP (retained accessory power). The 99-3018S is designed to retain this feature, along with warning chimes.
  • Aux Input: To retain the vehicle's factory Aux input, your aftermarket head unit must have a rear-panel Aux input (male mini-to-female stereo RCA adapter may be required, sold separately).
  • Optional Steering Wheel Control Interface: The included wiring harness features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (item number 120ASWC1, sold separately).
  • Navigation Outputs: The 99-3018S provides a VSS (vehicle speed sense), Parking Brake, Mute, and a Reverse Gear output to make installing an aftermarket Navigation radio simpler and less time consuming.

Q
Will the factory camera work with this set up?
anthony  Jul 19, 2023
1 answer
A
I do show that in some years and specific model CTS's the backup camera can be retained with a radio that supports it, Anthony. The Metra BACKUPCAM-2 adapter in the link below is needed in addition to the Metra 99-3018 dash kit. Use our online Vehicle Guide in the second link below to enter your vehicles exact year, make, model, and exact trim. Select your favorite radio that fits, and we will pair the 99-3018 kit, the backup camera adapter, and any other gear you'll need for the swap. We also list all the retained features you can keep to confirm! If you have any questions or need help placing your order do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-324-9695 and a live Advisor would be happy to help! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120BUCAM2/Metra-BACKUPCAM-2-Backup-Camera-Cable.html https://www.crutchfield.com/m_266150/Car-Stereos.html

Q
Will this allow me to retain my clock? It's round
tim  Sep 27, 2019

A
No your clock will no longer have a home on your dash
theo  Sep 28, 2019
A
Unfortunately this kit does eliminate the analog clock which sucks kind of cause I really like it. However what you gain with the better touch screen device /apple car play etc, makes it worth it to me. You'll also loose the outside temp reading.
joel  Sep 28, 2019
A
No. The stereo unit will take up the space where the clock used to be. The volume knob, tuning knob and clock will all be removed with the original plastic trim.
keith  Sep 27, 2019
A
Nope, it is removed with the aftermarket kit. If you like the clock then don't upgrade..
fredrick  Sep 27, 2019
A
No, this deletes the radio and clock panel up top and moves the climate controls down a little ways.

Q
if eveyone says this will take any double din why does crutchfield say only 1 pioneer double din will fit?
bryan  Nov 08, 2020

A
Chances are its not because of this dash bezel kit, its because the stereo itself is too big for that cts opening, when you click "doesn't fit" itll tell you why, with my car most pioneers measure too deep for the cadillac cts
nathan  Nov 09, 2020
A
I have Pioneer, so unfortunately I can't say about other brands, but I really don't see why not. The space will be limited in any case, so you may need to remove some plastic from the back (for cables). Also, There is another place that you will need to remove plastic in any case if you want double din unit - basically you combine some parts from the kit with original plastic parts, and one of those parts will abstruct the double din opening. So, you'll have to cut that plastic. You'll see what I mean, don't worry). So, the kit is no perfect, but it's ok. Good luck with your install, Caddy is not very user friendly to work with. Double measure everything.

I saw this same thing. I called Cruthfield and they confirmed it. Then I bought a Kenwood head unit locally and it fit just fine, though it is tight. I've done probably 100 head units and this one was the most time consuming one to do, so be prepared.
jeff  Nov 08, 2020
Q
Is there a way to retain the exterior temperature reading with this kit after installed with the aftermarket stereo for the Cadillac CTS 2008-2013 or does that function go away with the new install?
john  Aug 12, 2020
1 answer
A
I don't see any mention about the temperature display. The stock display in the center of the dash appears to be removed. If the temperature can be displayed elsewhere then that should continue to work.

I have an alpine ilx-w650. It fit mine. Not sure it fits urs. Check the spec's
remus  May 20, 2020
A
It will fit all DIN and double-DIN head units. I've done around 100 installs on various vehicles and this one is by far the most involved. Lots of wiring, so be prepared and take your time.
jeff  May 20, 2020
A
Yes it should ,

Q
When using the ASWC-1 adapter, does it plug in to this harness without additional wiring? When picking the radio type, should it be Metra OE (for the adapter) or in this case Kenwood (for the head unit itself?
charles  May 04, 2020

A
I can't mine doesn't work
andy  May 08, 2020
A
The 99-3018 comes with another ASWC-1 harness which has the wires pre-connected . You end up not using the harness that comes with the ASWC-1 kit. The instructions for the 3018 makes reference to this fact although it is not clear. You do not have to pick the radio type, it self programs. I was connecting a Kenwood DMX7706s and it figured out which radio it was connecting to without problem when it first started. Again, the Metra 3018 instructions cover this.

A
Dont use it if you have a pop up screen to much work. Only with performance cts.
jermaine  Mar 14, 2021
A
You put the filler piece in its place (removal of the screen)
scott  Apr 13, 2020
A
The screen goes away and is replaced with a trim piece like the unit without the pop up screen.
jeff  Apr 13, 2020
A
MY INSTALL WAS NOT IN A V SO I DID NOT HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THE POP UP. Cheers!
patrick  Apr 13, 2020
Q

you need the module too
michael  Oct 03, 2017

I also had to use the ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter. Without it the steering wheel controls do not work.
anthony  Oct 03, 2017

you will need the Metra ASWC-1 steering wheel control. Mine works great and looks good also.
gilbert p  Oct 03, 2017
A
You will need the ASWC-1

What are the maximum dimensions of a double din unit that the cts can accommodate with this this dash kit?

jermaine  Mar 14, 2021
A
Double DIN is a standard size. With this kit, the CTS will take a double DIN
michael  Oct 03, 2017
A
The chassis of a double din radio is roughly 6.8" wide and 3.9" tall (typically rounded to 7" x 4") and that is the dimensions this kit will take.
